Horses, kids, goats and dogs.

September 21, 2023

I woke up at 5am. I made some tea and wrote my blog. I finished writing at 7:13am and had to leave to take Angel to riding lessons at 7:30am. Amazingly, I got dressed, combed my hair, brushed my teeth, made a smoothie and was in the truck read to go at 7:28am. I felt grateful to Christopher for getting Angel ready to go while I had been writing my blog.

Riding lessons went well. Angel is improving every week. When lessons were finished we headed to homeschool co-op. We are meeting at the Cowboy Church and I had the key. I needed to get there early to turn the a/c down. I picked up my 4 year old grandson Finn on the way and arrived 15 minutes early. The a/c was already turned down and everything was ready to go. The co-op was a lot of fun. We sang, had a Bible study, did a lesson on literature and music theory. Next week I’m doing science and I’m still deciding on an experiment for the kids to do.

After homeschool co-op we came home. On the drive I suddenly felt very tired. It had been 3 long busy days Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Now my body wanted rest. At home, I talked to Christopher for a few minutes and laid down to take a nap. I slept for 2 1/2 hours and would have slept longer but the phone woke me up. It was my sister and she is getting surgery on her ankle. She just visited the surgeon and had gotten a surgery date in April. I am going there to help her while she recovers and I’m looking forward to it.

After talking to my sister, I got up and drank my smoothie. I was still feeling groggy, like I needed more sleep. Christopher, the kids and I walked through the woods do the gulley. There was still water in there from the rain last week. Christopher helped the kids build a dam. I drank more of my smoothie as I watched, I was still feeling groggy. When we got back to the house, I took a bath and relaxed in the water. My stomach felt bloated and the smoothie I had drank wasn’t digesting. When I got out of the bath, I told Christopher I wasn’t going to eat supper since I was feeling bloated and tired. I sat at the table and filled out my work schedule for next month while Christopher and the kids ate. Finn’s other grandma and grandpa came and picked him up. It was good talking with them for a few minutes.

I went outside and sat with the goats, while Christopher took a shower and Angel played in the banana hut. Little Bit squeezed through the goat fence and was running around in there. After awhile Tom the billy goat saw Bits and charged at him. Bits ran to the fence and was frantically trying to squeeze back through. Tom had almost reached where Bits was at. Bits saw that he wasn’t going to make it through the fence in time. He backed out and took off running with Tom right behind him. By that time, I was laughing and laughing, watching the dog and goat show. Bits ran behind the bushes and Tom lost interest. When Bits knew he was in the clear he snuck over and squeezed out of the fence unharmed. Maybe he’ll think twice about going into the goat pen again 😂.

Christopher came over after he showered. We all went in the banana hut. I read a couple of chapters from “Summer of Light”. It’s a great book, funny and wholesome. After Christopher and Angel went to bed I started reading a new book that I had gotten at the bookstore the other day called “A Thousand Splendid Suns” by Khaled Hosseini. Then went to sleep around 8:30pm.

I am grateful for another wonderful day.

Thank you for reading my blog and being a part of my life. I dearly appreciate all of you.

Love,

Victoria
