Stuck in the Mud…almost.

October 5, 2023

I woke up from 1pm to 3pm. I wrote some of my blog during that time. I woke up again at 6:30am. It felt so nice to sleep in. It was raining out and sounded heavenly. I wrote my blog while listening to the much needed rain. I finished writing around 7:30am. I went to make a smoothie but the power was out so I only made my tea since we could still boil water on the gas stove.

Angel and I drove to do a pet sitting job and then pick up my grandson Finn. The pet sitting job is way out on a dirt road, which was really muddy from all the rain. I was almost there when I turned a corner and my truck stopped. The truck was stuck in the mud and would not go forward. I was able to back up, so I put the truck in low and did a running start to get through the mud. I thought we were going to be really really stuck as we very slowly inched along but finally the tires caught and we made it through only to end up at a dead end. I had taken a wrong turn and would have to go back through the mud. I turned around, said a prayer and drove back into the deep mud. I noticed going back it was slightly downhill and we zipped right through. Yay, I cheered.

We made it to the pet sitting job and checked on the dogs and goats. Then we picked up Finn and drove to town. We went to the library first and the kids picked out some books. The tiredness I had been feeling off and on for the last few days weighed heavy on me but I knew it would pass eventually and I would be back to my high energy self. After the library, we went to homeschool co-op. We all enjoyed ourselves while we were there. The kids did music, Bible reading and art. I enjoy talking with the other moms. Next we went to Street Ministries to make food for the homeless. I warmed up leftovers and the kids played board games. I had some good talks with people while I was there. One guy wasn’t feeling good and fell asleep on the couch. When it was time to lock up and go home, I woke him up and told him he had to go because I was locking up. I prayed that God would provide a local shelter for these people so they could at least get a good nights sleep in a safe place. Most of them slept on the back steps of churches or buildings at night.

On the way home, I stopped at a big garage sale on the way and found a few treasures. When I got home, the power was back on and I made a smoothie. I was really hungry by then. I talked with Christopher awhile before I took a bath. I relaxed in the bath until the kids came and wanted in. I left the water in for them since it was still clean.

I had a salad for supper and headed off to play practice. On the drive I got an idea for the program I am doing for the next music club meeting. I had prayed a few days ago for guidance on what to do and knew the perfect idea would come to me. I cheered with excitement as I visualized the program I would put on. Play practice went good and I arrived home around 9:30pm. I went to bed and looked up songs for my music club program. Before I knew it, it was 11:30pm. I very rarely ever stay up that late. I said a prayer of gratitude for the wonderful sleep I was about to receive. I turned out the light and went to sleep.

I am grateful to have experienced another wonderful day.

Thank you for reading my blog and being a part of my life. I dearly appreciate you.

Love,

Victoria
