Happiness Is A Choice

September 25, 2023

I woke up at 5am. I wrote my blog and finished it at 6:20am. I made my tea, made a smoothie, got dressed, combed my hair, brushed my teeth and was headed to work at 6:50am. As I was driving to work, I said out loud “I am grateful for a wonderful day at work I am going to have”. As I drove I was contemplating why I’d been having a lot of ups and downs lately. Then the Holy Spirit whispered to me “happiness is a choice”. Oh yes, that’s right. I have a choice. It’s always my choice. Thank you for the reminder.

I listened to “Living in Harmony with the Universe” by Connie Mendez on audio while I cleaned my first house. At my next job I listened to inspirational music. When I finished that job, I had an hour until my last job so I went through the car wash, got gas and bought groceries. I purchased bananas, pineapples, strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, coconut water and Olipops. Then I sat in my truck before going to my last job and briefly worked on the lesson I am teaching at homeschool co-op on Thursday. It’s my week to do the lesson and I’m in charge of science. I decided to do a lesson on ph balance and demonstrate the different levels of acidity in household products.

At my last job, my clients were there and they were listening to Trump on TV. I’m not a follower of politics but it was entertaining to listen to. On my drive home from work I called my mom using my trucks hands free system. As we talked she said something that I interpreted as an accusation. I felt angry and defensive and before I could respond my phone lost connection which happens a lot when I’m driving in the country. After trying to call back a few times I decided to try again when I got home and had a good connection. On the drive I prayed and asked for clarity. Then I remembered to let my mom be how she wants to be and changed my perception by seeing things from her viewpoint and loving her for doing her best.

When I got home, I greeted Angel and Christopher, then went in the banana hut to lie down for a while. I called my mom back, neither of us brought up our earlier conversation. We had a good talk about what we’ve been doing. When I hung up, I did a meditation and full body relaxation session. It was blissful. Then I got up and made a smoothie to take to work with me tomorrow since I had a really early morning. I had to be up at 4:30 to leave by 5:30am to go feed the homeless at 6am. I was making sure I was prepared and ready to go.

I had a salad for supper with lemon tahini dressing. Angel and I took a shower together and when we got out I read her a few chapters out of the 2nd book in The Magic Treehouse Series. I made some tea and we all gathered as a family in the banana hut. I read a chapter from “Summer of Light”. Then I headed out to go to play practice. Play practice went great. When it was over, I drove home, wrote my blog and went straight to bed all snuggled up with Little Bit and Sophia (the dog I’m pet sitting).

I am grateful to have experienced another wonderful day.

Thank you for reading my blog and being a part of my life. I dearly appreciate y’all.

Love,

Victoria
