Dear Diary,
I woke up at 1:30 am. I went downstairs and checked on the bread rising. It looked ready. I warmed up the oven and started the bread coming. While I waited for it to cook I played wordle and connections. The timer went off letting me know that the bread was done just as I finished editing my blog. I pulled the bread out of the oven and took it out of the pan to cool. I saw that the bottom of the loaf was overcooked. I couldn’t sell this loaf to the lady I made it for. I would just have to keep practicing and start another loaf on Friday.
I posted my blog and went back to sleep. At 7:30 am, I woke up again. I could hear my sister downstairs getting ready for work. We said good morning and she left for work. I gave the dogs got an anti-fungal bath even though the ringworm seems to be completely gone, I’m bathing them every 2 days for another week or so just to make sure. I made myself a smoothie and noticed the time. If Angel was going to make it to jujitsu, so would have to get up and start getting ready. I went upstairs, Angel was already awake and talking to Christopher on her phone. She likes to call Christopher or her sister or her grandmas when she wakes up in the morning. I told her that it was time to get ready to go to jujitsu.
I made her grilled cheese sandwiches for breakfast and pb&j sandwiches to take for lunch. She got dressed and ate, then she bicycled and I walked with Bits to her jujitsu class. Right after we arrived, I received a text from the lady I had made the bread for. She said it didn’t matter to her if the bread was a little overcooked on the bottom, she still wanted it. I walked back home to meet up with her and she arrived shortly after. She insisted on paying me for the bread even though I didn’t think it was worth getting paid for. We talked for a few minutes and had a great conversation. I see a friendship starting between us. Yay! My first friend here.
I was getting ready to walk back to Angels jujitsu class when I ended up talking to a man on the phone about a possible future pet sitting opportunity. The phone call took a while and I didn’t have enough time to walk to get Angel, so I drove and arrived just as her class was finishing up. Angel had fun at class and learned some moves that she wants to practice on me.
I told Angel to go ahead and ride her bicycle home and I would meet her there. I went next door and dropped off some library books. They were one day overdue and I asked the librarian how much the late fees would be. She said that they didn’t charge late fees. Ok great! Angel was just pulling up to the house when I got there. She parked her bicycle and got in the truck. Then we went to McCall so I could do a cleaning opportunity. On the drive there, we listened to a Diary of a Wimpy Kid audiobook. Those books are really funny. I enjoy them as much as Angel does.
When we arrived at my cleaning opportunity, my client greeted us and said that she had gotten a desk upstairs ready for Angel to do her schoolwork. We went upstairs and the desk was set up really cute. There were Highlight magazines for Asked to look at, along with markers and a puzzle. Best of all though, there was a sign on the corner of the desk that said Angels Desk, Do Not Disturb. I told my client that was very thoughtful of her and thanked her. Angel was excited to have a special area set up just for her. She got started on her math and I got started cleaning.
I enjoyed cleaning and the cabin looked great when I finished. My client was very happy with my work and said that her house has never been so clean. I had done a very thorough job. She wants me to start coming once a week and I am so very grateful to be getting wonderful clients and steady opportunities to bring in income.
When we left, I had trouble getting out of my clients driveway. McCall has a lot more snow than Council and it had been raining on top of the snow all morning making it mushy and slippery. The driveway is steep and I could only go up a few feet before my tires would start spinning. I backed down and would go up again, each time gaining a little more ground. Finally after about 10 tries, I made it to the top and was able to get onto the road. I’m having fun remembering how to drive in snow and all the tricks to keep from getting stuck.
Back on the road, we went to my friend Brett’s. I barely made it up his steep driveway and I decided it would be good to buy some chains, just in case I needed them. Brett fed us bean tacos and we played Yahtzee again while Angel watched YouTube kids on her phone in front of the wood stove. We played 2 round of Yahtzee and each won one game. We are still even.
It was starting to get dark out and we left to go swimming at Zim’s hot springs. On the way, I stopped at Les Schwab tire store and bought some chains. The lady helping me at the front desk was wonderful. She was super friendly and went above and beyond in customer service. She made sure I knew how to put the chains on and even pulled them out to show me how they worked. I thanked her all her help.
We drove to Zim’s hot springs in New Meadows. I had a long conversation with the man that manages the hot springs about possible opportunities to work there in the future. He said they are getting ready to build a year round RV park and will need someone to be a park host. I told him to sign me up. I told him that I plan on living in my motorhome once I get fixed up. I really desire to be a part of the hot springs and living next to it in my motorhome would be ideal! I love it there and so does Angel. I bought a yearly family pass so that we can go swimming there as much as we want.
There weren’t very many people in the pool. There was one couple and a man with his 2 daughters. The girls were 8 and 10 years old and Angel was excited to have kids her age to play with. I stretched and floated on my back. Then I visited with the girls dad while soaking in the hot pool. I went back and forth between the hot pool and not-as-hot pool, watching the girls play together. They got along really well. Their dad said that they come swim there often and so I’m sure the girls will get to play together again in the future.
We got home at around 8:30 pm. Angel went upstairs to get ready for bed. I talked to my sister in her room. I was telling her that I was sure that the ringworm spots on the dogs were cleared up. I had been diligent about treating them and keeping the house sterile for the past 4 1/2 weeks, ever since I got here and found a spot on Bits. I don’t think Huckleberry even got it. I think the spot on him is a small scar because it hasn’t changed in anyway. If it was ringworm it would be changing with the treatment. Hair is growing back in Bits spot with no sign of infection at all for over a week. I believe that since I caught the ringworm quick enough and took immediate action, it didn’t have a chance to spread. My sister and I got an idea to check the dogs with her high powered black light. I went and got it and we checked the dogs. Nothing lit up. Yay! It’s gone. Regardless, I will still continue to keep bathing the dogs for another week or so.
I went upstairs and read to Angel. We had our quiet reading time for a half hour. Then we went to bed and fell asleep at around 10 pm.
Thank you for reading my blog and being a part of my life. I appreciate you.
Love, Victoria
