Conversations, Dog Walking and a Board Meeting

Dear Diary

I woke up at 12:30 and wrote my blog. At 4:30 am I went back to sleep until 6:50 am. I was supposed to be at my first house to clean at 7:30 am and that wasn’t happening. I messaged my client to let her know I would be there at 8 am and they were fine with that. I got up and made my bed. On the way to the house, I let out the chickens, ducks and geese. In the house I greeted Christopher and Angel. I made my tea, fed the dogs and made my smoothies.

Cleaning my first house went good. When I finished, I talked to my clients for a while and we were having such a fun conversation that I lost track of time.

I had a flex and flow yoga class that I wanted to go to. Now I was going to be 5 minutes late for it. I messaged my friend Kim that I was meeting there and told her I would be 5 minutes late. Those kinds of classes usually start right on time but when I arrived they still hadn’t started. I was glad I hadn’t missed any of it. I had been feeling tired when I got to the class but by the time it was over I wasn’t tired anymore. It was a great class. My mind and body felt so good afterwards. I am going to arrange my schedule so that I can go to it every Tuesday morning.

When class was over, I headed to Kim’s house to clean. On the way I stopped at Moon Brew to get a tea. There were a lot of people there that I knew and I chatted with them while I waited for my tea. One person I was talking with lived in Colombia for a few months and is going back for another 6 months. His mom was there with him and she is also music club with me. She is from Utah and we shared Utah and Idaho stories. I love talking with people. People are so amazing.

When I arrived at Kim’s, we had good conversations while I cleaned. We talked about some deep stuff and I was able to reflect on a things in my life that I’ve been struggling with. While I was cleaning, her neighbor contacted me and asked if I would be willing to clean their house once a month. I really did not have time in my schedule for anymore clients but I said I would be willing to come look at their place.

I went next door and did a bid. I was hoping they wouldn’t accept it but they did and I figured out where to fit them in. Then I went to walk Zona. We had a great walk. I really enjoy walking her everyday. It’s fun to do town walking and I am grateful for the opportunity. I like to walk in the woods on our property but have missed town walking. Now I get to do both. After walking Zona, I went to feed Kitkat. Again she wasn’t there. I messaged her owner to let her know I hadn’t seen the cat in 2 days. She said to keep her posted. The food I kept leaving out was being eaten and I hoped it was the cat eating it and not a wild animal, like a raccoon.

I arrived home around 4 pm and I had an hour and a half before it was time to leave for a Kay Theater board meeting. Angel wanted to do a handbag craft kit she got for her birthday. I told her we could do it together for a half hour. I figured I could craft for a half hour, then take a bath, then eat and head to my meeting. I started a bath and we went in the banana hut. We got started on the craft and it was a lot of fun. It didn’t feel like much time had passed when Christopher came over and said that it was 5:05 pm. Oh no! I had to leave for the board meeting in 35 minutes. I ran to turn off the bath which was overflowing. Thankfully it’s outside and the overflowing water wasn’t an issue. Christopher had a salad ready for me. I quickly threw together my tahini/lime dressing and sat down to eat. I didn’t like that I had to rush and I didn’t want to have to eat really fast because it’s not good for my digestion. I decided to take the salad into the bath with me, that way I could eat and bathe at the same time. That actually worked out really well and I was glad to have time alone to eat.

One the drive to the board meeting my sister Trish called and shared how she was feeling frustrated with the mean things our mom is doing. I find it really difficult to not be triggered by our mom’s perceived meanness. My heart aches to have a mom that is kind and loving and I pray that I can continue to forgive her and accept her as she is.

The board meeting went really well and everything flowed smoothly. It finished in an hour which was great. I like meetings to stick to the agenda and be an hour or less. On the way home I talked to my sister again to finish our conversation.

At home, we all gathered in the banana hut and I read 2 chapters from Stormy, Misty’s Foal. Then we all said our good nights and I fell asleep at around 9:30 pm.

Thank you for reading my blog and being a part of my life. I dearly appreciate you.

Love,

Victoria
