Happy Birthday Christopher

November 17, 2023

At 5:30 a.m. I woke up needing to go to the bathroom. I laid there with my eyes closed attempting to sleep longer but the need to use the bathroom won out. When I came out of the bathroom I snuggled up with Christopher in his bed, wished him a happy birthday and drifted to sleep for a half hour or so until Angel came and joined us. Angel squirmed and talked and squirmed and talked, it was time to get up. I made my tea and went to the banana hut to write my blog and pray my thanksgivings and gratitudes.

Angel was finishing her breakfast when I went back in the house. I brought Christopher his birthday presents. Angel had decorated a box for him and I bought him a photograph printer that connects to your phone. Christopher happily started figuring out how the printer worked. I hurried Angel along to get ready to go. We were going thrift store shopping with my friend that lives across the highway and we like to get there early. On the drive to the thrift store Angel told us a story about The Land Before Time. I noticed I was feeling nervous and was jumpy while driving. I was aware that I was driving the highway where I witnessed the tragic accident. I immediately sent out a prayer for comfort, safety and peace.

We found some good finds at the thrift store. I bought some much needed jeans and Angel hit the jackpot on toy horses. When we arrived back home, I talked to Christopher for a while. Then I took a nap in the banana hut. I slept hard and was blissfully dreaming when Angel came in and told me that Christopher’s mom was here. I wanted to keep sleeping but I forced myself awake. Christopher and his mom were talking when I went into the kitchen. She had brought him a sauerkraut maker for his birthday.  I greeted her and sat with them for a while. The dogs were getting restless so I excused myself and took them on a walk in the woods with Angel. Angel collected American Beauty Berries while we walked. When we got to the gulley she climbed around the edge, it amazes me how strong and muscular she is. That child can climb.

Christopher was still talking with his mom when we got back. I started getting ready to go out to eat. Christopher and I were going to Central Avenue Bistro in Cameron for his birthday supper. Christopher’s mom left and he got ready to go too. We dropped Angel off at our friends across the highway, they said they would watch her so we could have a date night. I drove the back way to the restaurant. It was a beautiful drive. We sat outside at the restaurant and enjoyed each others company while we ate, I had a greek salad.

We listened to music on the drive home. After we picked up Angel and arrived home, I took a shower with Angel. I said good night to Christopher and went straight to bed. I wrote my blog while Angel listened to The Boxcar Children. I really enjoy listening to the ones read by Internet Grandpa on YouTube. We went to sleep around 8:30 p.m.
