Dear Diary,
I woke up at 4 am. It was raining. I played the Township game until 8 am. Angel crawled in bed with me and we slept until 9:30 am. I woke up and immediately deleted the Township game from my phone. I had spent hours developing a pretend town on that game and I was glad it was gone. It was a relief to get on with my life.
Angel and I cuddled in bed giggling for a while until 10 am. When I got up, I felt tired and lethargic due to lack of sleep from obsessing on that Township game. I made tea for Trish and myself. She is recovering from her surgery really well and is in less and less pain everyday. I made almond milk by blending soaked almonds in the vitamix with 64 oz. of filtered water and I strained the almond pulp out with a nutmilk bag. Then I made 64 oz. of grape juice with the grapes I had brought from Texas. Now that I had fresh almond milk and juice, I made a smoothie with 7 bananas, almond milk and grape juice.
I cleaned up the kitchen and drove to Missy’s to let the chickens out. When I came home I made smudges out of sagebrush. Now I can smell sagebrush when I’m in Texas and the smudges should keep for a long time.
Trish and Angel had been in the bedroom all day playing on their phones and watching TV. It was now 1pm, I went in there and told them it was time to get out of the bedroom. They came into the living room and we sat around talking. I called my sons and talked to them about seeing them on Wednesday when I would be coming through Salt Lake City again on my way home. We decided to do dinner and play board games, then Angel and I will sleep overnight at Scott and Delany’s. Thursday we will head to Oklahoma and arrive at Angel’s grandma StJohn’s on Friday. We will stay the night there and drive home on Saturday. Sunday morning I will start a 10 day overnight pet sitting job and Monday I will start my regular cleaning schedule.
I fell asleep on the couch and took a nap for a couple of hours. When I woke up, Trish and Angel were back in the bedroom, again. I went in there and told Angel we were going on a bicycle ride. I’d had enough of being inside and the rain had stopped for a while. Angel and I went on an hour long bicycle ride around town. We saw 5 deer and rode a few blocks along the Weiser River Trail where Angel though she saw a bear but it was just a burnt tree stump. The Weiser River Trail used to be railroad tracks and has been changed to a a “rails to trails” trail that is 84 miles long. Here some information on it https://visitidaho.org/travel-tips/riding-weiser-river-trail/. I think it would be great fun to ride the full 84 miles someday, camping along the way.
It felt good to be outside and get some exercise. I felt refreshed by the time we rode up to the house. We all ate dinner, I made grilled mushrooms for myself and Angel had a bean taco. Then, I drove to put Missy’s chickens away. I love the scenery on the drive there and back. The mountains are so beautiful. Angel took a bath while I was gone and then I took one after her. We all cuddled on Trish’s bed and watched The Secret Garden together.
When the movie was over we all went to bed. I fell asleep at around 9:30 pm.
Thank you for reading my blog and being a part of my life. I dearly appreciate you.
Love,
Victoria
