Dear Diary,
I woke up at 3:30 AM and wrote my blog until 5 AM. Facebook still hadn’t loaded up the video that I had started yesterday so I started loading it up on YouTube to see if I would get better results. I went back to sleep at around 5 AM. I awoke again at 6:45 AM. I received a gratitude message from Tracey and I sent him one back. Here it is:
I am grateful for good sleep. I am grateful for roosters crowing. I am grateful for water. I am grateful for clarity. I am grateful for mornings. I am grateful for summer. I am grateful for flowers. I am grateful for prayer. I am grateful for my children. I am grateful for Tracey. I am grateful for our connection.
I woke Angel up and she went into the house. I let out the ducks, chickens and geese and gave them fresh water in their pools. I went in the house and greeted Christopher. I made tea and a smoothie. Angel made herself a waffle and got dressed. I finished getting ready to go and right before we left I took pictures of the banana hut so I could put it online to sell.
I drove to Tracey’s and dropped Angel off. She had asked him last night if she could spend the day with him and he had said yes. Angel was excited and had planned out their day. Tracey and I gave each other a big hug and I wished him the best on spending the day with Angel.
My first cleaning opportunity went great. I enjoyed cleaning and talking with my client. She told me that she will be turning 90 on her next birthday. I think she is in great shape for her age. When I finished cleaning, I picked up Ms. M. We went to the Lutheran church and she sat in the sanctuary doing her word search puzzles while I cleaned. The church was busy today. People were there sorting through old papers and files. There were dead crickets everywhere again but the numbers seem to be getting less each week. Cricket season came early this year. Maybe it’s because we’ve had such a wet and mild summer so far.
I got the church cleaned and just as I was finishing up, I received a message that the newspapers had arrived to be delivered. I got Ms. M settled into the truck and drove to the Rockdale Reporter. I loaded up the newspapers and did my route. On the front page of the newspaper was an article about our last 2 performances of You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown at the Kay Theater. I’m really excited about it and I know we will have a big audience both days.
When my route was completed, I dropped off the old newspapers at the Reporter and talked with Kyle Cooke for a few minutes. He said that Suzy had some boxes for me that I can use for packing. I went up front and asked Suzy about it and she showed me where they were. There were quite a few sturdy boxes. I told her I would come get them another day when I have room in the back of my truck. I felt grateful to have some boxes available so that I can start packing.
I took Ms. M home and drove to Tracey’s. Him and Angel had survived their day together. I gave them a hug in greeting and they told me about their day. I asked Tracey if he wanted to go get my Toyota Scion with me from my house so I could wash it and detail it, to put it up for sale. He said he would and a short while later we left to go do that.
When we arrived, we hung out for a little bit. Christopher wasn’t there, he was drinking with his friends out in the woods. I showed Tracey all my little bells and instruments. Tracey had bought me a really neat bell as a gift and I was happy to add it to my collection. It was a wonderful gift. I played a song on my harmonica while the dogs howled along with me. Tracey and I watched Angel attempt to catch our newest baby goat but she was unsuccessful in her attempts. Then we got the Scion started up. Tracey drove it to his house. Angel rode with him and I followed in my truck.
All 3 of us washed the car and got the inside detailed. It looked great when we finished. I was tempted to keep it. It’s such a great little car with only 125,000 miles on it but I’m not moving it to Idaho, so it has to go. I took pictures and put it up for sale on Facebook marketplace.
I did a few more things, then I went in search of Tracey to see if he wanted to go to Gattis pizza and have salad bar before going to Bible study at the Cowboy Church. I found him by the goat pen, holding a tree branch down for the goats so that they could eat the leaves. It’s so amazing watching him interact with animals. I asked him if he wanted to go with Angel and I. He said he did.
We all got ready and drove to Gattis. I had been craving salad and was excited about the salad bar. For a small town, Gattis has a really good salad bar. We all ate and played games in the game room. This is something all of us rarely do and it was like stepping into another world. Lights flashing, screens all over, different kinds of sounds all mixed together. Angel was overstimulated and running around playing game after game. Tracey and I were laughing at how different the energy was compared to being in nature.
We left Gattis and I took us on the backroads through town on our way to the Cowboy Church. I love driving through town and looking at everything. At the Cowboy Church they didn’t have a children program happening so the kids all hung out and played in the kids room. Tracey and I said hello to everyone and found seats in back for Bible study. The Bible study was about Spiritual gifts. Here are my notes:
Bible study August 7, 2024
Spiritual Gifts:
- 1 Corinthians 12:1-12
- Spirit=Breath
- Each of us has different gifts.
- Our gifts are given to us, we don’t get to choose.
- There’s no pride or jealousy in gifts given to us.
- Use our gifts to serve others.
- We should be motivated by love when exercising our spiritual gifts.
After Bible study we went to Tracey’s. Angel watched part of a movie. Tracey and I got each other laughing. We had a lot of fun cuddling and laughing until it was time to go home. At home, I put the birds away. They were all acting nervous and one duck was missing. I counted the chickens and 2 chickens were missing. Something mustvbe getting to them during the day. Probably a fox or coyote.
I called Tracey to tell him goodnight. Angel and I got into bed. I got off the phone and put on a bedtime meditation. We fell asleep at around 10:30 pm.
Thank you for reading my blog and being a part of my life. I appreciate you.
Love, Victoria
