Morning prayer:
Good morning God,
- Thank you for this day.
- Thank you for good sleep.
- Thank you for laughter.
- Thank you for fruit
- Thank you for love.
I love you!
Dear Diary,
I awoke at 4 AM. I played connections and wordle and went back to sleep. I awoke again at 7:20 AM. I took a long hot shower and when I got out I soaked my feet in apple cider vinegar water. I like to scrub my feet to get off all the dead skin and previously I’ve done that while I take a bath. Unfortunately, I don’t have a bathtub in my apartment, so I decided to soak my feet separately. Angel woke up while I was sitting with my feet in the water. She was hungry and we discussed breakfast. We decided to go downstairs to Seven Devils Cafe and eat there.
At the café, I was really careful about what I ordered and Angel ordered pancakes. It took almost an hour to get our food and my tummy hurt after I ate. Grazing my neighbors strawberry patch would have been a better idea. We walked back upstairs after we ate and Angel went to jujitsu. I went next door to clean for my neighbor. We talked for a few minutes and she had me do some extra things before I did my regular cleaning.
When I got home, Angel arrived shortly after me. Her friend was going to come over but her mom messaged saying that she was sick. So Angel rode her bicycle to the museum where her friend Vickie was volunteering. I walked to the thrift store and then went to the laundry mat to do laundry. While I waited for the clothes to wash and dry, I sat out front with Little Bit and read a book.
Back at home, I made Angel a late lunch and we played a game of What’s the Point. Then I read her some of a Nancy Drew book and helped her re-do her blanket fort over her bunk bed. Aaron came over to visit while I we were finishing the fort. We sat in the front room and talked for a while. After Aaron left, Angel and I got ready for bed. I read my book until 11 PM and fell asleep as soon as I turned out the light.

- Thank you for home.
- Thank you for slow pace days.
- Thank you for love.
I love you!
Dear diary,
I woke up at 5:30 AM when Angel came in and told me it was time to get up. She was dressed and excited. We were going to Hells Canyon again to go foraging with Pastor Amy. I got up and made her breakfast and made myself a smoothie and tea. I also blended up half of a watermelon and packed it to go in order to stay super hydrated. Watermelon is one of the most hydrating foods. It has sodium, not salt which is NaCl, salt is actually dehydrating. If you are dying of thirst and you drink salt water, you will die. All those energy drinks are not as hydrating as “they” claim to be, a lot of them have processed sugar, salt and a bunch of chemicals. Sodium is Na and it’s very hydrating. Watermelon has sodium, electrolytes, vitamin water and unprocessed sugar(fructose, glucose, and sucrose). A perfect combination for deep cellular hydration. Coconut water is also very hydrating. In Texas when I was with Christopher, he drank Gatorade at work and struggled with the heat sickness and staying hydrated. When we met and we were talking about hydration one day, he switched to drinking coconut water at work and he stopped having heat sickness and was able to stay hydrated.
I packed up my watermelon juice and smoothie and containers to harvest fruit in the truck. We got ready to go pick up Pastor Amy, when my neighbor came outside and we talked a few minutes while I grazed her strawberry patch. Suddenly I realized what time it was, I was supposed to pick up pastor Amy a half hour ago.
We got in the truck and drove 2 blocks to pastor Amy’s house. She was ready and sort of patiently waiting. We loaded up get stuff and drove a few blocks to pick up a 12 year old boy who was going with us. Angel has been boy crazy lately and has a crush on just about every boy she meets, so she was really excited the boy was going with us.
I convinced Amy that we should go down the Kleinschmidt grade rather than take the highway through Cambridge. She doesn’t like heights but decided she would suffer through it. We had a good talk on the drive about inflammation and how it effects our minds as well as our bodies. If the body has inflammation then so does the mind and that’s what causes the cloudiness.
When we got to the grade, pastor Amy did fine, I took it slow and everything went good. When we were 3/4 of the way down, we saw some black cap raspberries on the side of the road. I got out and picked the ones that were ripe, which was a handful and gave them to the kids. Then when we got to the bottom of the grade, we stopped at the mulberry trees I had found the other day.

The mulberry trees were bursting with berries and we picked them for quite a while. Next, we went to the established campground across the highway, next to the Snake river and we harvested more mulberries. Little Bit was excited about being there and ran all over with the zoomies. After picking a bunch more mulberries, Pastor Amy and the boy wanted to try out fishing. While they fished, Angel played on the dock and I walked the edge of the campground and found even more mulberry trees.
When we left, we drove to Big Bar campground and harvested a bunch of apricots. Pastor Amy and the boy wanted to fish some more and I dropped them off with Angel at a dock. Then I drove all around the campground looking for more fruit trees. There were plum trees everywhere and they are all full of plums. When they get ripe, there will be an abundance of plums. I found more ripe apricot trees and harvested more apricots. Then I went back to the fishing dock where everyone else was. Pastor Amy and the boy were catching Bluegill and had a few already. I found a nice shady spot on the dock and took a nap. I woke up a half hour later and my shade was gone. Half asleep, I got in the truck with all the windows down and slept some more.

I woke up again when everyone came up to the truck and were ready to go. I felt refreshed after my sleep and we headed out of the canyon. We took the highway back rather than go back up the grade. When we got to the Gateway store, we stopped and I treated everyone to a scoop of ice cream. Then when we got up out of the canyon, we stopped by my friends place and harvested cherries from his cherry tree and currents from his current bushes. Angel rode his horse Grayce and he offered us a bunch of produce from his garden. We had a great time and thanked him for his generosity. Then we continued on to Council.

We arrived in Council at around 5:30 PM. We had been gone for 10 hours. We dropped the boy off at his house and his mom showed us all the fruit trees growing in her back yard. Then I dropped off Pastor Amy and drove out to a pet sitting opportunity. I fed the Guinea pigs and cat and came home. I carried all our produce upstairs to the apartment and put it away. Angel went to my older sisters and I walked to the bank and cleaned it.

When I finished cleaning, I walked to my sisters and got Angel. We went home, I made Angel dinner and made a batch of kale chips with Angels help and put them in the dehydrator. Then I walked to M&W and refreshed my gratitude sign. When I got back, Angel said she was tired and went to bed. I took a long hot shower and then soaked my feet. I went to bed and played connections and wordle. I wrote my blog notes and read my book until 11 PM. I turned out the light and went to sleep right away.

Thank you for reading my blog and being a part of my life. I appreciate you
Love, Victoria
