Morning prayer:

Good morning God,

  • Thank you for this day.
  • Thank you for gardens.
  • Thank you for rivers.
  • Thank you for connection.
  • Thank you for love.

I love you!

Dear Diary,

I awoke at 4 AM. I wrote my blog and went to sleep more. I awoke again at 7 AM. Angel crawled in bed with me and said that she was hungry. I got up and made Angel breakfast and made myself tea and a smoothie. Yoga was canceled today so instead I drove across the highway to clean my friend’s house. She is my friend that shares her yard with me. My friend was home and we walked around the yard talking about the plants and clarity we have been receiving in our lives. I feasted on strawberries and they were heavenly. My friend went inside the house to get ready to leave and I harvested a bunch of herbs to sell at the farmers market. I harvested white sage and garlic chives and a purple flowering herb that my friend and I weren’t  able to identify.

When my friend left, I cleaned her house. It looked fantastic when I finished and I went home. Angel was home from jujitsu and asked to go to get friend Vicki’s. I said she could and she went off on her bicycle. One of my cleaning clients had invited me to come pick cherries off of her trees, so I drove out to her house. The cherries weren’t quite ripe so instead I harvested herbs from her herb garden. She brought out string for me to tie the herbs in bundles. We sat and talked while I made bundles out of the different herbs. I got St. John’s wort, winter savory, feverfew, peppermint, sage, chives, celery seed and thyme.

When I got home, I walked to the thrift store and found a folding table to use at the farmers market. Back at home, I juiced mulberries and lemons and made a gallon of honey-sweetened mulberry lemonade and gallon of honey-sweetened regular lemonade to sell at the farmers market. Angel came home and helped me make a bunch of kale chips. She de-stemmed the kale leaves and broke them into small pieces while I made up the batter. I mixed the kale leaves with the batter and put them on dehydrator trays. I put the trays in the dehydrator at 105° F and made myself a salad to eat. When I finished eating, I cleaned up the kitchen and went outside. I carried the folding table I had bought from the thrift store over to my neighbors and used her hose to wash it off.

My neighbor came outside and we talked while I grazed on strawberries in her strawberry patch. Then I walked to the grocery store. On the way home, I stopped at a food truck that was in town and ordered French fries. I want to know what prompted me to stop and order French fries when I know that they make my body feel yucky. Regardless, that’s what I did and yes, I felt yucky after I ate them.

When I got home, Angel and I packed our overnight bag and drove to a drop-in pet sitting opportunity and then drove to an overnight pet sitting opportunity. I fed the animals and put them all to bed for the night. Angel and I went to bed. I read her a chapter from a Nancy Drew book and we went to sleep at 10 PM.

Morning prayer:

Good morning God,

  • Thank you for this day.
  • Thank you for ducks.
  • Thank you for farmers markets.
  • Thank you for faith.
  • Thank you for love.

I love you!

Dear Diary,

I awoke at 3:20 AM. I wrote my blog and posted it. At 5:45 AM I let out the dogs and went back to sleep until 7:30 AM when Angel woke me up. I took care of all the animals and went home. I fed Angel and made myself tea and a smoothie. I walked to M&W to refresh my gratitude sign. People were starting to set up for the farmers market downtown. I talked to the lady in charge and she told me where our booth would be. I was concerned that the spot would be too hot. I don’t have a canopy and my friend that I’m sharing a booth with has one but she said it was big and awkward and she didn’t have space in her vehicle to bring it. The lady in charge said that we would be fine because it wasn’t going to get hot today. I hadn’t checked the weather but I figured she knew what she was talking about and went home to get ready. I packed up everything I was taking to the farmers market in the truck and drove to our spot. My friend was already there setting up and we figured out where we were going to put everything.

The farmers market started and I sold a lot of produce. Surprisingly I sold a bunch of kale chips too. One lady bought some and came back later to buy 2 more because she said they were so good. Yay! They are really good but I wasn’t sure if people in a small mountain town would be interested in them. I sold one polished rock and I had a lot of kids get their faces painted. I enjoyed talking to people and later in the day Aaron showed up and it was fun seeing him. We live in the same small town but we rarely see each other when we are out and about. We usually only see each other when we go off on adventures together.

After the farmers market, I packed up everything I had left, brought it home and put it away. Angel played with a friend and I went to a cleaning opportunity. I cleaned for 2 hours and enjoyed making my clients house sparkling clean. Then I went to a future pet sitting clients house so that she could show me how to care for the animals. We talked and took the dogs on a walk together.

Back at home, I helped my neighbor and did some things for her that she couldn’t do by herself. Then I walked to M&W and refreshed my gratitude sign. I took compost to my friend Camille’s chickens and got Angel pizza for dinner. We went out to my overnight pet sitting opportunity. I fed all the animals and put them away for the night. Angel and I got into bed and I read a chapter from a Nancy Drew book. We went to sleep at around 10 PM.

Morning prayer:

Good morning God,

  • Thank you for this day.
  • Thank you for tummy aches.
  • Thank you for choices.
  • Thank you for insights.
  • Thank you for love.

I love you!

Dear Diary,

I awoke at 3:30 AM. I didn’t write my blog and goofed around on-line instead. My tummy hurt from eating junk food again. At 6 AM, I decided I wasn’t going to go foraging with a friend in Hell’s Canyon, like we had planned. I didn’t feel good and I already had a lot of foraged food at the moment. I still needed to figure out what to do with it all. I was burnt out on foraging and needed a break. I messaged my friend and let her know that I wasn’t going foraging. She was disappointed but I got her in contact with my client that has the cherry trees so that she can at least get some cherries.

I let out the dogs and went back to sleep until 7:30 AM when Angel woke me up. I did the morning chores taking care of the animals and we went home. We went to the cafe below our apartment for Angels breakfast. Then I walked to the bank and cleaned it. When I finished, a friend came by to pay me for pet sitting. We talked for quite a while about offering healthy cooking classes for the local community.

My friend left and I walked to the thrift store with Angel. Then we went to the Nazarene church for Souper Saturday. The church offers soup and salad for people in the community the third Sunday of each month from 12 pm to 1 pm.

When we got home, Aaron came over and we went with him on an adventure in the mountains. We had a lot of fun exploring down a dirt road that was barely a road. We moved logs out of the way and drove through places we thought we wouldn’t be able to drive through. I loved every minute of it. When we got to where the road completely disappeared, I walked a ways up what used to be the road and I found a perfect camping spot. In the future, I want to be dropped off and hike up to the camping spot and spend a week alone there.

It was a wonderful relaxing time in the mountains. It was nice not foraging or having an agenda. My body was still hurting from inflammation until I laid down on the mountain side. The ground felt so good and I could feel it pulling the inflammation from out of my body. After that, I felt much better. Aaron is great to go up in the mountains with. He’s very easy going and we both have similar amount of risks we are willing to take while out exploring. Not too risky but still daring enough to do some slightly risky endeavors.

On our way back from the mountains, we stopped by my pet sitting house. I did all the evening chores, then Aaron took us home. I made Angel dinner and we drove to the Assembly of God church to clean it. When I finished cleaning, we went back out to my pet sitting house. I let the dogs out one more time and started a load of laundry washing. Then we went straight to bed and fell asleep right away at around midnight.

Thank you for reading my blog and being a part of my life. I appreciate you.

Love, Victoria
