Dear Diary,

Good morning God,

  • Thank you for this day.
  • Thank you for sunshine.
  • Thank you for wood sorting opportunities.
  • Thank you for Bits.
  • Thank you for Angel.
  • Thank you for pine tees.

I love you!

I awoke at 1:30 AM. I played wordle and connections and wrote my blog. Angel was sleeping restlessly. She was coughing a lot and had a slight fever again. At 4:30 AM, I fell back asleep. At 5 AM, Angel woke me up saying that she’d had a bad dream. I comforted her and she fell asleep. I was supposed to leave at 6:30 AM to do a cleaning opportunity. I messaged my client about Angel being sick and she said that we could reschedule for Monday morning.

I fell asleep again until 8 AM. Angel and I woke up at the same time. She ate a bunch of grapes for breakfast while I made tea. We slowly got ready to go to McCall. I had a drop in cat sitting opportunity to do in McCall and I wanted to get some groceries while I was there.

Angel had a jujitsu Christmas party that she didn’t feel up to going to and on our way out of town we stopped by there and I dropped off the gift Angel had gotten for the gift exchange.

On the drive we listened to a Nancy Drew audiobook and I drank some of my smoothie I had made yesterday. It was another beautiful sunny day and the views of the mountains were breathtaking. When we got to McCall, we stopped at Albertsons. Angel stayed in the locked car listening to her audiobook while I ran in. I bought some coconut water, olipops and discounted bananas. Next we stopped at a couple of thrift stores. I’m looking for another winter coat and swimming noodles. I have one winter coat but I’d would like another one that’s not so bulky and more form fitting. I also want it to be a bright color, like red. I found a nice black coat but it wasn’t exactly what I wanted so I didn’t buy it. I’ll wait. Of course, since it’s winter, I didn’t find any swimming noodles. After thrifting, I stopped at Natural Grocers. I bought blueberries that were on sale and more discounted bananas. Lastly I went to Ridley’s and bought discounted pineapples and a to go salad from their salad bar. There are 3 groceries stores in McCall and they are all within a mile of each other, so I like to check them all out to see what’s on sale in the produce section.

With shopping done, I went to my cat sitting opportunity. I spent time petting the friendly cat and since I’ve also been hired to clean their house for them while they are gone including washing the bedding. I stripped a couple of beds and started washing sheets and towels. I went through the house and emptied all of the trash as well.

Next, we went to Zim’s hot springs. There were a few people there and Angel found a boy her age to play with. They raced across the pool. The boy barely won by an inch. Then they played tag. I was thinking that Angel should be taking it easy but she was having fun and I didn’t interfere. I stretched and floated on my back fully relaxing my body. As usual, I chatted with a few people and enjoyed the hot sitting atmosphere.

We stayed at the hot springs for an hour and a half, then we had to leave so I could meet a man for an orientation meeting to get me set up to clean the bank. When we got home, I had 15 minutes until the meeting. I quickly changed clothes and brushed my hair and teeth. Then Angel stayed home with my sister while I drove to a restaurant up the road where we were meeting. I wanted to walk but I didn’t have time.

I arrived at the restaurant exactly on time but no one else was there. I waited 10 minutes and was just texting the guy who hired me when the trainer walked in. We did paperwork for an hour and 20 minutes. Then we took a break to meet at the bank.

I went home and ate the salad I had bought earlier and talked a few minutes with my sister while Angel played video games. Then I walked three houses down to the bank. The trainer was waiting there for me and after some security issues and a few phone calls, we were able to get inside. I had a list of things that needed to be cleaned. I read over the list and it was all basic stuff. Some things were listed for daily, weekly and monthly. I mentioned that I would rather do all of the list each time and was told that I couldn’t do that and I needed to the daily, weekly and monthly. I said that there is a possibility of something that is listed monthly needing cleaned more often and that I wasn’t going to do a half cleaning. I was then told that I not only had to stick to the list but I had to make sure to keep each cleaning under 2 hours, except this first time. I could go longer this one time. I scoffed at that. The trainer understood where I was coming from and said that he was just repeating what he was told. What the what? I am used to being my own boss and being told I can’t take as much time as I need to make sure a cleaning is done well doesn’t sit right with me. We will see if this opportunity lasts but for now it is giving me some much needed income.

I got started cleaning and the trainer helped me. I ignored the list and did a really thorough deep clean. I even checked the trainers work and made him redo some things 😂. We got along really well though. The trainer let me do my thing and didn’t try to stop me. It took the two of us 3 hours to get the bank cleaned and it was spotless. I thanked the trainer for his help and for letting me clean how I wanted to. I told him, now that it’s all been throughly cleaned, I should be able to easily maintain it the 3 days a week I will be coming in. I should have no problem getting it all done in 2 hours or less. We locked up the bank and turned on the alarm system. I started walking home when I saw one of my neighbors outside and we talked and laughed for a few minutes.

Angel was playing a video game when I walked in the door. It was almost 9 pm and we went straight to bed. Angel slept with me and I read her a chapter of a Magic Treehouse book and put on a sleep meditation. She fell asleep immediately. I wrote my blog notes and watched videos of talented singers and musicians on my phone for a while. Then I turned off the light and fell asleep at around 11 pm.

Dear Diary,

Good morning God,

  • Thank you for this day.
  • Thank you for hot springs.
  • Thank you for cleaning opportunities.
  • Thank you for health.
  • Thank you for connection.
  • Thank you for my sister.

I love you!

I woke up at 7:30 am. I had slept really deeply all night long. Angel woke up and seemed to be feeling much better. We cuddled up and talked for a few minutes. After making my bed we went downstairs. My sister was awake and said that Angel could stay with her today. She made Angel oatmeal for breakfast and I made a tea and a smoothie for myself. I packed them up and drove to McCall.

It was a cloudy day but as usual, the drive through the canyons was beautiful and I listened to an audiobook called The House Next Door. I had 3 things I needed to do in McCall. First I was going to stop by Albertsons. The coconut water I had bought there yesterday was not in my groceries when I got home yesterday and I couldn’t find the receipt. I called and they said I could come get another one, even without the receipt. Second, I had a cleaning opportunity. Third, I had a drop in cat sitting opportunity.

When I arrived in McCall, I stopped at Albertsons. I got the coconut water and went up to the customer service desk. I told the lady working there that I had called about getting another coconut water. She said that she was the one I talked to and to go ahead and take it. I warmly told her thank you and I appreciated her trusting me. She said that coconut water isn’t usually something people try to steal and we laughed about that. While I was there I bought a round sled for Angel for Christmas to use to go sledding this winter.

I left the store and went to my cleaning opportunity. My clients were out of town and they wanted me to do some deep cleaning while they were gone. She had made a list and I got started cleaning out the fridge right away. I listened to my audiobook The House Next Door while I cleaned and time flew by. The fridge took me a while to clean and it looked fabulous when I finished. I did regular cleaning on half of the house and will finish the deep cleaning when I come again next week.

Next, I went to my cat sitting opportunity. I washed some more of their bedding and petted the friendly cat while I enjoyed the view of the mountains from their backyard. When I left, I drove an hour and a half to Midvale for a family Christmas gathering. I enjoyed the drive and listened to my audiobook.

The family gathering was a lot of fun. Both of my sisters were there and the sister I live with had brought Angel with her. Several of my aunts and uncles and cousins and a niece were there. It was so wonderful to spend time with my family. That side of my family laughs a lot and I love being around them. Angel had fun playing with the kids and seems to be fully recovered from being sick. I was reminded that this is one of the reasons why I moved back to Idaho, so I can be around my family more.

On my way home, I did another drop in pet sitting opportunity right outside of Council. This opportunity has 5 cats and 2 dogs. I fed the animals and sat on the couch with them for an hour writing my blog and petting them. When I got home, Angel was playing video games with my sister. We got ready for bed and I read her one chapter of a Magic Treehouse book. Then I put on a sleep meditation and we went to sleep at around 9 PM.

Thank you for reading my blog and being a part of my life. I appreciate you.

Love, Victoria
