Dear Diary,
Good morning God,
- Thank you for this day.
- Thank you for snow.
- Thank you for opportunities to help others.
- Thank you for friendship.
- Thank you for love.
I love you!
I awoke in the middle of the night and played wordle and connections. I wrote my blog, edited it and posted it. I was completely caught up. Angel was sleeping next to me and she woke up. She still had a fever and told me about a scary dream she’d had about a clown. I read to her some of my Louis L’Amourbook until she fell back sleep. Then I slept some more.
At 8AM I woke up again, I went downstairs and said good morning to my sister. She was working from home today. Angel woke up and got in the bath. I got dressed and made my bed. A friend called and we had a good talk. Angel got out of the bath and wanted cantaloupe to eat. I walked to the store and there wasn’t any cantaloupe. I bought raspberries, blueberries and blackberries instead. When I got home I made her some banana “nice” cream out of frozen bananas. (It’s just frozen bananas and a tiny amount of water blended in the vitamix, it turns out the same texture as soft serve ice cream.) She ate a bowl of “nice” cream with some raspberries and blackberries while sitting in front of the pellet stove. I ate some “nice” cream too and froze a bunch more bananas. I made tea and an 8 banana, cacao, fresh fruit juice smoothie.
I went upstairs and got settled in at my desk and wrote out some Christmas cards. I noticed the sun was shining outside. I hadn’t seen the sun for days. I decided I’d done enough cards for one day. I wanted to be out in the sun. I walked to the post office to send off the Christmas cards. One of Angels Christmas presents was in our p.o. box. It was all beat up and smashed. On the Amazon app I did a return process and asked to have another one sent to me. Later in the day I got a message that another one wouldn’t be sent and I could only return it.
On my way home from the post office, I stopped at the thrift store. All of their Christmas items were free. I got some brand new Christmas gift boxes and bags. While I was there I saw Angels jujitsu coach. She asked why Angel had not been to class yesterday. I told her that Angel has been having a fever for a few days. Angels coach said that she hopes she gets better soon because they are having a Christmas party Friday. Oh right! I had scheduled a cleaning opportunity on Friday. Later in the day I called my client to change the time.
When I got home, Angel said she wanted to go to Zim’s hot springs. I was thinking the same thing! Her fever had broke again and I knew that fresh air, mineral water and sunshine would do her good. Plus, swimming in the sunshine sounded heavenly to me and would do me good too.
The hot springs was fantastic. We had some sunshine when we first arrived but then the clouds rolled in and blocked the sun. At least we got a little sun on our bodies and through our eyes. Most vitamin D is absorbed through the eyes. While it’s obviously not good to stare at the sun, it is good to not wear sunglasses in order to get the most benefits from the sun. When I used to wear sunglasses all the time, my eyes became weak and the sun seemed too bright to go without them. I would get headaches and my eyes would water without sunglasses. I slowly got my eyes strong and acclimated to the sunlight again and I haven’t worn sunglasses for 30 years. Now if I could only go without my distances glasses then I would be glasses free. I know that a lot of people’s eyesight has been healed and I believe mine can be too.
We stayed at the hot springs for a couple of hours. Angel and I swam laps together. Angel swam 8 laps which showed me that she was feeling much better. Not many people were there. I had some fun conversations with a couple of people and enjoyed listening to 3 young people that work at Brundage (the local ski resort) talk about drama happening at work. They also talked about how much fun their jobs were as well. They laughed a lot and seemed really happy with their lives.
When we left the hot springs, I stopped at Family Dollar in New Meadows to see if they happened to have any swimming noodles. I figured since it was not swimming season they wouldn’t have any and they didn’t. I did buy a bag of frozen fruit which Angel munched on during the drive home while listening to a Nancy Drew audiobook.
When we got to town I stopped at Dollar General to look for swimming noodles but they didn’t have any either. No surprise but I got some frozen vegetables there. When we got home, I left right away to go to Zumba. I arrived late and started dancing. I made it through 2 songs before I started to feel floppy and weak. I’d been partially fasting for the past 3 days and had swam earlier. I was overdoing it, so I left and had a beautiful slow walk home. The sun was setting behind the mountains and the air felt crisp and clean. I whistled Christmas songs as I walked the long way back. I briefly thought of the possibility of a mountain lion being out and about. There have been sightings of lions around town but not recently. I need to get some bear spray. I figured nothing was going to bother me though and nothing did.
When I got home, I made a vegetable soup with some of my sisters canned tomatoes and the bag of frozen vegetables. The soup turned out really good. Yes, it wasn’t raw but I do good with vegetable soup as long as it doesn’t have starchy vegetables.
Angel and I went to bed. She slept with me and I read her 2 chapters of a Magic Treehouse book. Then she read to me one of her books. I put on a sleep meditation for her to listen to and I read some of my Louis L’Amour book. Angel fell asleep and I kept reading until after midnight. The book was so good. Since it was after midnight. I played wordle and connections. Finally I turned out the light and fell asleep at around 12:30 AM.

Dear Diary,
Good morning God,
- Thank you for this day.
- Thank you for hot springs.
- Thank you for sunshine.
- Thank you for strong legs.
- Thank you for sunsets.
- Thank you for good books.
I love you!
Angel woke me up at 6:30 AM. I’d been having a strange dream about my older daughter carving words into my skin while I was sleeping. I took that as a sign to call her. She didn’t answer when I called but I left a message. I made a smoothie for myself and Angel. It had 8 bananas, cacao, fresh made fruit juice and filtered water. I made tea and a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for Angels lunch. Then I rested in my bed writing my blog until it was time to leave to do a wood sorting and stacking opportunity right outside of town.
When we arrived, I got Angel settled in the house and she started on her schoolwork. Then I went out to the woods splitter where the guy I was working for was at. He showed me what to do and we got started right away. He split the big rounds on the splitter and I threw the cut pieces into a big trailer that was parked below us. If there were bad pieces of wood, I threw them in a pile behind me.
It was a beautiful sunny morning and the view from where I stood was breathtaking. I was bundled up in a work coat, scarf and gloves but I could have worn less and still have been fine. It was 40 degrees out and felt really warm. The sun felt nice on my face and I thoroughly enjoyed working outside. We worked for 4 1/2 hours and cut up 2 cords of wood. We worked well as a team and he was really happy with my work. He said that he usually has to explain things a lot more to someone new but I caught on to how to do things right away. I told him that I was blessed with “horse sense” and smiled. He said he will be calling me to do more work for him. Woohoo!
During a break from sorting wood, I had received a phone call about cleaning the bank in Council 3 days a week. I said I was definitely interested. I was hired on the spot and I start tomorrow. Yay! That is really awesome because the bank is half a block away from where I live.
I felt really grateful that awesome income making opportunities close to home are happening at a rapid rate. I have an abundance of pet sitting opportunities coming up and with the new wood sitting and bank cleaning opportunities plus the cleaning opportunities I already have, I well be bringing in more than what I currently have going out. Yes! Living by faith has paid off.
Angel had started to not feel good again while I was sorting wood and when I came inside to get her after I finished. She was asleep on the couch and her fever was back again. We had planned to go to one of her new friends house for a play date and then go to Zim’s hot springs. Instead we went home. I drank my smoothie and immediately made another one and put it in the fridge. Angel laid down upstairs in my bed. I turned on a kids Christmas movie for her to watch and laid down next to her. I read some of my Louis L’Amour book and fell asleep. I woke up a half hour later. Angel was in her room sitting on the floor watching YouTube kids on her phone.
My sister came home from work and I went downstairs and talked to her. I made myself another vegetable soup and ate it while we chatted. Then I went upstairs and wrote my blog. Angel laid down next to me and I put on a sleep meditation for her. I read my Louis L’Amour book until 9 PM. I turned out the light and went to sleep right away.
Thank you for reading my blog and being a part of my life. I appreciate you.
Love, Victoria
