Farm Sitting and Cleaning 7 places

Friday March 8, 2024

Dear Diary,

I woke up at 11 p.m. and wrote my blog until 2 a.m. I fell back asleep and woke up again at 5:22 a.m. I prayed my thanksgivings and gratitudes:

  • I am grateful for a new day. Thank you for this day.
  • I am grateful for warm nights with open windows. Thank you for fresh air.
  • I am grateful for rain. Thank you for the life it brings.
  • I am grateful for Angel. Thank you for her vibrant energy.

I got up, made my bed, let the ducks and chickens out of their coops and went into the house. I fed the dogs, made lime tea and used up half of the juice I made yesterday to make two 64 oz. smoothies. I’m grateful I got the juice made yesterday even though it put me behind schedule. Today I made sure to pray my thanksgivings and gratitudes to start off the day with a positive focus. Yesterday was a tough day and I hadn’t remembered to pray my thanksgivings and gratitudes but some days are like that.  The days I struggle are the days that I experience the most growth, and I am grateful for that.

When I went in the house, Christopher and Angel were still in bed. I got ready to go and left right on time at 6:00 a.m. Little Bit came with me since it wouldn’t be too hot for him to stay in the truck. My schedule for the day was farm sitting and then cleaning 3 houses and 2 churches. Farm sitting is one of my favorite things to do and I was looking forward to it. When I arrived, I let out the chickens, then I went inside and let the dogs out to go to the bathroom. Little Bit was excited to see them. They all know it other from when I’ve farm sat for them previously. I got the dogs food ready and let them back in to eat. Little Bit was upset because he didn’t get to eat too, so I held him and gave him some treats. When the dogs were finished eating, I let them back out and to play while I fed the cows. They have 3 longhorns that are really cute and friendly. After feeding the cows, I stood outside with the dogs for a while, petting them and letting them play. Then I got them settled back into the house, turned on happy music for them and headed out.

The first two houses I cleaned are next door to each other. I listened to a talk by Pema Chordron while I cleaned and I received a lot of clarity about situations in my life where I have been people pleasing rather than following the guidance the Holy Spirit is giving me. I physically felt lighter and breathed easier once I let go of the codependency I was clinging to in those situations. I love receiving clarity, it’s transformational.

When I finished my first 2 houses, I headed to clean the Episcopal church. On the way I stopped at Moon Brew to get a peppermint tea. When I walked in the door I was greeted by 3 friends. They said they were really happy to see me and I was really happy to see them. My plan had been to get my tea and go clean the church before going to clean my third house but I ended up talking with my friends for quite a while. We had a great conversation about receiving clarity and following our intuition. By the time I left Moon Brew, I had to go straight to clean my third house in order to be there on time. I figured I would just clean the Episcopal church and my other church I had scheduled today, the Lutheran church, later on.

At my third house I had great conversations with my clients and enjoyed cleaning. They have a dog named Cowdog, he doesn’t like other dogs so Little Bit had to stay in the truck but Cowdog knew he was in there. When I finished cleaning and got in the truck to leave, Cowdog was barking at Little Bit. When he realized he couldn’t get to him, he started running around the truck biting the tires which I found really funny because in the Hank the Cowdog books I’ve been reading, Hank bites at the car tires. So it must be a cowdog thing. 😂 I was looking forward to telling Angel about it because I figured she would find it funny as well.

Next, I cleaned the Episcopal Church, and then I cleaned the Lutheran Church. I really enjoy cleaning churches, they have such great energy and fill me with a sense of peace and well-being. When I finished the churches, I had planned on going home, but I remembered that the office building I had scheduled to clean tomorrow had a partial workday on Fridays. I was nearby so I thought I would drive over there and see if anybody was still there working and if not then I could start cleaning it today and have an easier day tomorrow. Sure enough, no one was there and so I got started cleaning. I hadn’t decided if I was just going to clean part of it and finish the rest tomorrow or go ahead and clean all of it. I would see how my energy levels held up. I had already finished my two smoothies that I had brought with me for food and thought I might get hungry. At the moment I felt great. I kept cleaning and kept cleaning and still felt great with lots of energy. It’s a fairly large office building and takes me quite a while but I ended up getting the whole thing done and still had energy to spare. There was another small office building that I had scheduled for tomorrow. I knew no one was there because by now it was after hours so before heading home I cleaned that one also. By that time I was feeling tired and hungry, it had been a 13 hour workday and I had done farm sitting and cleaned seven places. That was a personal record. The most I’d ever cleaned before was six places. Thank goodness I’m still young and healthy.

I arrived home at almost 8:00 PM. Angel was already asleep in bed. I ate leftover salad and talked with Christopher. Then I took a shower and headed straight to bed. I jumped 100 jumps on the rebounder and fell asleep almost instantly around 9:30 PM.

Thank you for reading my blog, and being a part of my life. I dearly appreciate you.

Love,

Victoria
