Dear Diary,

This afternoon, I took Angel and 2 of her friends to Zims Hot Springs. The kids wanted to go the back way on the dirt roads. I wasn’t sure if they were still passable or if they were covered in too much snow but I was willing to find out. It might be my last hurrah going on the dirt roads in the mountains for the year.

The roads were a little bit snowy in the higher elevations but they were still clear enough to easily drive on. When we got to Lost Creek Falls, I stopped to let the dogs run and walked down to look at the waterfall. When I got close to the edge, I slipped on the mud and almost slid off. That would have been a really cold plunge! I tried to stand back up but kept slipping in the mud, so I crawled to where there were patches of grass to stand up on. Note to self…don’t do that again!

I was covered in mud but I ignored it. I walked back up to the truck where the kids had gotten back in to stay warm. They asked why I was all muddy and I casually responded that I had slipped in the mud and almost went over the edge into the water. Their eyes got big and I went over the protocol of what they were supposed to do if anything happened to me. Number one…stay in the truck and wait for someone to come along.

We stayed at the hot springs a couple of hours. It was busy at Zims and there was a birthday party with a bunch of 12 year old girls screaming and running around. I found a quiet spot in the deep end where I stretched and floated on my back, fully relaxing my body. Later on, I practiced doing hand stands in the shallow end with one of Angels friends. I used to practice handstands all the time before I got with Christopher. I also stopped eating as healthy when I got with him. I clearly see how I changed to become who he wanted me to be rather than standing strong in doing what I knew was best for me. I clearly see how I had done that in all my past relationships. I’m not interested in people pleasing anymore and I love being single. I’m interested in following my inner guidance and firmly saying no to what isn’t in alignment. Life is joyful when I’m in alignment.

When we got home from Zims. Angel stayed the night at her friends house and I cleaned the church and the bank. They were both really dirty and took longer than usual. I didn’t get home until after 11 PM. Then it took me a long time to get the fire going because the stove had gotten cold. I finally went to bed at 1 AM and went to sleep right away.

Other highlights from earlier in the day were: buying really cute accent chairs from the thrift store for $5 each, taking the kids to the library to do Christmas crafts and putting a cover over the camper with help from my older sister.

Dear Diary,

It was a beautiful sunny day. We walked to church and I sang Noel during the service. I was nervous and it was hard to hear myself but it went fine. The musicians were fabulous and covered up all my mistakes. It was fun singing along with a mandolin and guitar. The sermon was about joy which I’ve been experiencing a lot of lately. It was a fantastic sermon!

Earlier that morning, I had gone to church early to practice singing with the musicians. After getting back home, we had an hour before it was time for church.  Angel helped me move the twin bed that I had in the living room into my bedroom. There was plenty of room in there for another bed. Now I have three beds in my room 🤣, I have my daybed with the trundle and a twin bed across the room. I can have a slumber party in there🤣.

I drove to the thrift store where the accent chairs I had bought yesterday were sitting on the back deck waiting for me with my name on them. I brought them home, and Angel helped me set them up in front of the window with the Christmas tree in between. It looks really nice like that.

After church, I tried to take a nap but Angels friends kept coming over and knocking on the door. I did get a little nap in though. Then I talked on the phone with my older sister and Mrs. H. In the evening, I went to the Assembly of God church for the children’s Christmas play. The lady in charge of the play was home sick and she asked me to take over. I didn’t know what I was doing but thankfully the kids knew what they were doing and the play was really fun.

After we got home from the play, I talked to Mrs. H on the phone again. Then I read a chapter from Arctic Adventure to Angel and we went to bed early at 8:30 PM.

Dear Diary,

It was a full day and it was great fun. I did a 2 hour one time clean at 9 in the morning. Then I went to the title company and made an extra mortgage payment. Yay!

Before going home, I stopped by a friends house. We talked and laughed for an hour or so. When I left there, I went to M&W and bought a bunch of apples and oranges to make juice with. I also bought lettuce, a cucumber, 2 avocados, blackberries and 4 cream soda ollipops.

At home, I made Angel lunch and got started making juice. I used the apples and oranges I had bought as well as some carrots that I had in the fridge. I had enough to make a gallon and a quart of juice. Yay! I cleaned up the kitchen and put some juice in a little jar to take to Mrs. H.

On the drive to Mr. and Mrs. H’s, we listened to The National Park Mystery Series book one by Aaron Johnson. As soon as we arrived, Mr. H had me help him put trickle chargers on their spare truck battery and a couple of boat batteries. Then we went into his wood-shop and I helped him cut out pieces of wood to restore his great grandmothers rocking chair. Mr. H was very patient with me and showed me how to use different wood working tools and I used a band saw for the first time in my life. I really enjoyed myself. It was a lot of fun and I learned so much. I just love working for Mr. and Mrs. H. I love working for all my clients. I have such an amazing life and I feel extremely blessed. Before I knew it, I had been helping Mr. H in the wood-shop for 3 hours and it was time to go. Time flew by so fast.

We listened to our audiobook on the drive back to Council. I stopped and checked on the chickens at my friend TJ’s. Then I picked up my pay from my morning cleaning, got gas and went home. I fed Angel dinner and cleaned the bank. When I got home, we took a bath and I read 2 chapters from Arctic Adventure by William Price.

We went to bed and I wrote my blog. I went to sleep at around 10:30 PM.

Dear Diary,

I have been feeling so joyful and happy lately. I love everything about my life right now. I have the best friends and clients. My house is so wonderful and is often full of kids, which I really enjoy. This evening there were 4 kids running around the house playing hide and seek. I joined in the game every so often by helping with hiding places.  Kids are great fun!

This afternoon, after an hour long nap. I made myself a big salad. I was so excited while making the salad because I knew it was going to be delicious and of course it was. I have been craving salad for a couple  of days but I hadn’t gotten around to making one until today. I’ve been intentionally eating mostly fresh fruits and vegetables and keeping my calories low, not because I’m on a diet, but because I am really enjoying feeling light and not having a lot of food in my stomach. Plus, my body is loving it. I feel so incredibly amazing and the mental clarity I have is out of this world. Feeling like this is so much better than the high and lows from junk food/processed food or the heavy feeling from eating low energy food. This is a natural high and it is pure joy. I’m purring like a happy cat.

This morning, I did a cleaning opportunity and bought my client groceries. Then I did another opportunity where I changed the cat litter and did a few chores. I sat with my client for a while and listened to him tell stories about his younger years. In the afternoon, I checked on chickens at my friend TJ’s. I gave them food and fresh water and harvested the eggs. They are so cute. I just love chickens.

In the evening, I had a friend stop by and give me a Christmas gift. It was a coffee cake and an envelope with a card that had $500 in cash. Wow! That was unexpected and I felt so grateful. What a blessing.

Later, I drove the 4-wheeler to Girls Club, with Angel and 2 of her friends on the back. We had a game night for the girls and they had a lot of fun. I was enjoying myself so much that I lost track of time. So did my friend Miss J, who runs Girls Club. It was just after 8 PM when we looked at the clock and Girls Club is over at 8 PM. We had the girls quickly clean up and Miss J gave them each a gift bag for Christmas.

At home, Angel was wound up. I was talking to my sister on the phone and Angel was bouncing off the walls. I had to get off the phone in order to get her rounded up and in bed. She’d had junk food at Girls Club and it’s like she loses her head when she eats that stuff.

After getting Angel in her bed, I got in my bed. I wrote my blog and went to sleep at around 10 PM.

Thank you for reading my blog and being a part of my life. I appreciate you!
Love, Victoria

P.S. this was November 13-16. A lot has happened since then. Stay tuned!
