Dear Diary,

I got way behind on my blog again and after reading through this days blog notes, there’s nothing interesting that happened. I cleaned and organized at a couple of places and Angel had a friend over in the afternoon.

As for my goals, I did hug 5 people and read one chapter but I didn’t make juice. Why am I avoiding making juice? That is a good question!

Dear Diary,

Happy Thanksgiving! After pet sitting in the morning, where I took the dogs on a walk and fed them as well as the cats, I made a big green salad to take to Thanksgiving dinner at my older sisters.

Angel and I went to my sisters and I dropped off the salad. Angel stayed there while I went to visit a friend. We talked and had tea which was lovely. Then I stopped by to say happy Thanksgiving to one of my clients who was home alone for the holiday.

Back at my older sisters, my younger sister and I walked over to my place with the dogs so she could see it all put together. We had a nice visit and she was impressed with how fast I got everything put away after I moved in. I told her, I’m the organizing queen and I like everything to have a place to go. She said she might hire me to help with her house. I would love that!

When we got back to my older sisters. We ate dinner. I had salad and sweet potatoes with pecans. After eating, I walked over to the bank and cleaned it. I didn’t get it done last night and it had to be done before Friday morning, so I did it today on Thanking but that’s ok, it only takes me an hour.

Later in the day, I showed more family members my new house and went to my pet sitting opportunity. I fed the animals, then I took the dogs on a walk and got to enjoy an incredible sunset. I went back to my older sisters and we all played a game of Clue. It’s a fun game to play with a lot of people and my sister won.

Next, I cleaned the church. When I finished, I got Angel and the pups from my sisters and we went home. I read a chapter from Ralph S. Mouse and we went to bed. I wrote my blog notes and went over my daily goals. I did hug 5 people and read a chapter. Still no juice 😂. I turned off the light and went to sleep at 10 pm.

Dear Diary,

I completed all my goals today including making juice. Yay! I made a gallon and a half of apple/pear/carrot juice. Woo hoo!

After doing a couple of cleaning opportunities, I started getting ready to go to Salt Lake City tomorrow to visit my boys, daughters-in-love and grandkids. First I went to the local gift shop and bought everyone’s Christmas presents so I could bring them with us. Then I cleaned the house and changed the sheets. I like to come home to clean sheets and a clean house after being gone. Even though I was looking forward to seeing everyone in Utah, I love my new house and didn’t want to leave it.

Later in the afternoon, I went to Mr. and Mrs. H’s to do Thanksgiving with them. We ate and Mr. H taught me how to play cribbage, which was easy to learn. I love card games and grew up playing them with my dad. Our favorite game to play together was rummy and it’s still my favorite card game. I miss my dad, he was great fun and he would get me laughing so hard that I would be rolling in the ground in tears. Sometimes he would get himself laughing so hard we would both be rolling on the ground in tears.

Next, we went to my pet sitting opportunity and took care of the dogs and cats. Then we went home, wrapped presents and packed our suitcase. I lined everything up in the living room to be packed into the truck in the morning. We were leaving at 5 AM and I wanted to be ready to go.

Angel and I each took a bath and I read 2 chapters from Ralph S. Mouse. We went to bed and went to sleep at 10:30 pm.

Dear Diary,

It was an uneventful drive to Salt Lake City. I woke up at 2:30 AM that morning and spent some time in prayer and mediation. Then at 3:30 AM, I got up and started getting ready for the long drive. I packed up everyone’s Christmas presents, our suitcase and food. I vacuumed the house and got everything nice for us to come home to. At 4:30 AM, I woke up Angel and we gathered up the cats to put in the sun room with the little heater, food, water and litter. After a cat chase to get Sweetie Alabama inside we managed to leave on time at 5 AM.

We stopped in Indian valley on the way and did my last morning of pet sitting. I let the dogs out and fed them as well as the cats. Then we were on our way. We listened to a Warriors book 5 audiobook on the drive which helped keep me awake. I was tired the whole 7.5 hour drive. We made 3 quick stops on the way to get fuel, use the bathroom and let the dogs run. I really wanted to stop longer and take a nap but we had to get to my son Shawn’s by 1 PM for Thanksgiving dinner. Instead of sleeping, I drank a bunch of black tea for caffeine which helped take the edge off of the tiredness but made my mind feel cobwebby and upset my stomach.

It was great watching the sun rise in the east and the views were incredible. The high desert is so beautiful. My dad loved the high desert. He grew up in Shoshone, Idaho, which is in the middle of the high desert and he taught me to love it as well. I love love love the smell of sagebrush. The plateaus and canyons are awe inspiring and of course so is the Snake River. The Snake River is fascinating but the pollution from the farmlands and the damns have caused many parts of it to grow green algae that is unsafe to swim in. BUT, it’s still an amazing river to see. Here’s some information about the Snake River https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snake_River

Here’s information about humans caused issues: https://idahoconservation.org/our-work/snake-river/

We arrived at Shawn’s at 12:45 AM and greeted everyone. It’s been over a year since I’ve seen my grandkids and it was so good to see them, as well as Shawn and my daughter-in-love Bri. Bri was in the kitchen cooking and didn’t want help, so I focused on getting the dogs acquainted which was quite the ordeal since they have 5 dogs and 4 of them are large. Buck is a black lab, Taters is a chocolate lab, Sheba is a German Shepard, Odie is a sharpei/great dane mix and Hazel is a very large chihuahua.

My son Scott and his wife Delany arrived and I greeted them. They also have one dog, a sweet pitbull named Sage but they didn’t bring her. We all sat and ate and enjoyed each others company. Then I walked to the park with my grandson Sam and Angel. It was cold out and it’s a mile walk to the park. I was glad to get a walk in but I started to get a little bit of a scratchy throat. I figured it was from lack of sleep, traveling, not eating my best ;especially with dairy and caffeine).

The kids played at the park for about an hour.  It’s a really neat park and they wanted to play longer but I was feeling really cold and tired, so we walked back to Shawn’s. I was glad I got a two mile walk in and completed my goal of walking. I also hugged 5 people, so I got two of my goals accomplished.

Back at Shawn’s, the kids played downstairs while the adults played a really fun dice game similar to farkle. By the time the game was over, I was ready for bed. We drove to Scott and Delany’s to stay overnight. They have a really nice guest room that they let us stay in. I read 2 chapters from On the Banks of Plum Creek to Angel. All my daily goals were completed. Yay! Then we called Angels biological dad to confirm meeting tomorrow. Angel wanted to meet him and he wanted to meet her, so we agreed to meet at a park.

Then we turned off the light and went to sleep at around 9 PM. I was exhausted and fell asleep instantly.

Thank you for reading my blog and being a part of my life. I appreciate you!

Love, Victoria
