Sunday: Church, Singing, Park, People Watching and Friends

Sunday April 13, 2025

Dear Diary,

Good morning God,

  • Thank you for this day.
  • Thank you for sunshine.
  • Thank you for quiet mornings.
  • Thank you for my mom.
  • Thank you for laughter.
  • Thank you for love.

I love you!

I awoke at 6:45 AM. I wrote my blog and practiced the song I was singing at church today. I talked to Aaron on the phone and we had a great conversation. Angel woke up and called family in Texas. I made her breakfast and we played What’s the Point. Then I practiced my song until I felt confident about singing it at church.

The walk to church was heavenly. The sun was shining and the weather was perfect. The birds were singing and the sky was bright blue. I enjoyed the singing and the sermon. I sang at the end of the service during communion and it went wonderfully. I was nervous at first but as soon as I started singing, I felt the Holy Spirit’s strength inside of me and I relaxed.

The walk home from church was lovely. It is so great to be able to walk to church. We used the bathroom and got Bits and the kitten, then we drove out to the country to talk to a friend about taking care of their cat and cleaning for them. My friend showed me around and we talked for over an hour. Angel played with my friends oldest son, he is around 5 or 6 years old. The kids played great together. Angel likes playing with younger kids.

When we got back home, Angel changed clothes and rode her bicycle. I sat in the front room and wrote an article about the City Council Meeting. The article was due today and it felt great when I finished. I edited it and I sent it in. Angel came in and wanted to know if we could go to the park. I said that we could. On the walk there, I talked to Aaron on the phone. Angel played with the kids on the playground equipment while I sat in the grass, talking on the phone and watching the kids.

When all the kids left, we walked home from the park. I sat in the sun on the edge of the sidewalk in front of my apartment building and people watched. Not very many people were out and about on a Sunday evening but there were a few. Angel sat in the sun with me and after a while she asked if I wanted to go on a bicycle ride with her. I said that I did.

We rode around town and stopped at a friend’s who just moved into her apartment too. She showed us around and we sat and talked. A couple of other people stopped by to talk and we all laughed and had fun conversations. My friend had a lot of Native American Indian decorations and Angel asked her about them. She told Angel all kinds of stories about how the headdress’ were made and gave Angel a couple of Native American dolls. Angel and I thanked her and we rode home.

I made dinner and played Mancala with Angel. We got ready for bed. I read Angel a chapter out of a book called William H. McGuffey, Boy Reading Genius by Barbara Williams. We got in bed and I talked to Aaron on the phone. When I got off the phone, I put on a sleep meditation and was asleep by 10:30 PM.

Thank you for reading my blog and being a part of my life. I appreciate you.

Love, Victoria
