Dear Diary,
Good morning God,
- Thank you for this day.
- Thank you for piano music.
- Thank you for birds singing.
- Thank you for eyes.
- Thank you for love.
I love you!
I awoke at 6:45 AM. I remembered last night Angel had found her tooth that had been pulled on Wednesday. She found it in its tooth container in the back seat of the truck and brought it in to put under her pillow. I quickly got up, put on my robe and ran downstairs. I hadn’t realized that it had rained in the night but regardless, I ran to my truck, in my robe with only socks on my feet and got $5 I had left in there. I ran back upstairs and switched out the tooth with the cash. Angel was still sound asleep and it was another successful tooth-fairy impersonation.
I sat in the front room and wrote my blog. When I finished and posted it, I took a long hot shower. Then I made Angel’s breakfast. I woke her up when it was ready and she found her tooth fairy money. We played a game of Race Across the USA while she ate. Then we went to the library for story-time.

We only stayed at the library for a short amount of time because we were going down to the valley to have lunch with my mom for her birthday. We stopped at home and got Bits and the kitten whose name is now Stormy. Then we hearted (headed) down the mountain.
We listened to inspirational music on the drive and I enjoyed looking at the beautiful scenery. When we arrived at my moms, i greeted her and gave her a hug. My older sister was there and we all left right away to go eat.
We all had a great time at the restaurant. We laughed a lot and it was wonderful spending time together. My sister paid for our meal, which was a pleasant surprise and I told her thank you. When we finished eating, we all walked to a nearby thrift store. We had fun shopping and we all got some clothes. Angel got a whole new wardrobe which was much needed. My mom paid for all our thrift store purchases which was another surprise. I told her that she was not supposed to be spending money on us for her birthday, it was supposed to be the other way around but she said that she wanted to pay for it and I told her thank you.

Back at my mom’s, my sister left and I started all our thrift store clothes washing. I received a message from pastor Amy to call her. I called and she asked if I would be willing to sing a song at church tomorrow. I didn’t know the song that she was asking me to sing but I told her I would learn it and sing it. She wanted me to sing a-cappella which I was really nervous about but I was up for the challenge.
While waiting for our clothes to wash, we sat out the back porch with my mom and talked. The porch was in the shade and there was a cold wind blowing, so we moved out front where the sun was shining and the house blocked the wind. It was a whole different climate out front. I laid in the soft grass and basked in the sun. In Texas you can’t lay in the grass without getting bit by ants and there’s no such thing as soft grass, soft grass won’t survive the Texas heat.
Stormy the kitten explored in my mom’s flower bed and Bits played with my mom’s dog Max. The neighbor boy came over and Angel played with him. It took a couple hours for all the clothes to get washed and dried, when they were finally dry, we got ready to leave to go home.
We got settled in the truck and I got back out to take my coat off and put it in the back seat. We started going down the road when Angel asked where the kitten was. I had just seen her go under my seat when I got out. We pulled over to look for her but couldn’t find her. I turned around and drove back to my moms to see if she had gotten out. I was afraid I would see her ran over but thankfully that wasn’t the case. She wasn’t out front as I slowly drove past my moms. I went around the corner and pulled over. We searched the truck for her again but couldn’t find her. I thought maybe she had ran into my mom’s flower beds and drove back there again. Angel was searching through my mom’s flower beds and I looked under the truck. Suddenly the kitten walked out from behind one of the back tires. She was all dirty and looked stunned. I picked her up and she didn’t look like she was hurt. I don’t know where she had jumped up under the truck but I was grateful that she was ok.
Angel held the kitten on her lap and we started towards home again. We drove a few miles, when my mom called and said that Angel had left her Nintendo switch at her house. Sheesh! We turned around and went back to get it. Then we left again and headed up the mountain. Halfway home my mom called and said that we had left more stuff at her house. Good grief! We would get it another time.
I talked to Aaron on the phone during part of the drive home and we listened to Nancy Drew the rest of the time. When we arrived home, I put all our freshly washed clothes away. Angel ate some cantaloupe and we got ready for bed. I wrote my blog notes and talked to Aaron on the phone. Then I put on a sleep meditation and went to sleep at 10:30 PM.
Thank you for reading my blog and being a part of my life. I appreciate you.
Love, Victoria
