Dear Diary,
Good morning God,
- Thank you for this day.
- Thank you for snow and rain.
- Thank you for birthday parties.
- Thank you for a reliable vehicle.
- Thank you for patience.
- Thank you for an abundance of all I need.
I love you!
I awoke at 6 AM. I let Lucky and Bits out and played wordle and connections and wrote my blog. My friend Rachele called from Texas and we had a fun talk. It was great to hear from her. When we got off the phone, I posted my blog. Then I ate the last of some leftover broccoli salad, made tea and packed up leftover smoothie. It has snowed overnight and I wasn’t sure how to road through the canyon would be.
I called my older sister and messaged Jason to let them know I was heading to Council. The road was better than I thought it would be and I made it through the canyon without any issues. When I arrived in Council, I stopped at the roller skating rink to turn on the heat. I had trouble getting the key to work and had a moment of panic thinking that I had been given the wrong set of keys. I calmly tried a couple more times and the key finally worked. I turned on the heat and went to Lila’s, fed her and let her out.
Then I went to my older sisters and picked up Angel. She had been playing video games for hours and she is always moody and cranky after playing video games. Today was no exception. She was super crabby. We went to the library for story-time and she was angry and obstinate the first few minutes but then she mellowed out and decided to start being pleasant. Once she got over being in a bad mood, Angel had a lot of fun at story-time and even read a book to the younger kids. After reading, the kids did a craft. My friend Camille was there with her kids and I asked if I could run to her house and get the pies I had left there for Angels birthday party. She said that I could and I told her I’d be quick.

I drove home and grabbed a knife to cut the pies with and then went to Camille’s and got the pies. When I got back to the library, the kids were finishing their craft. I got Angel and stopped at Dollar General to pick up some paper bowls. Then we went to the skating rink and arrived 5 minutes before the party was supposed to start.
The skating rink was nice and warm when I went in and I was glad I had turned on the heat so early. I started bringing things inside when another homeschool mom and my friend Brett showed up for the party. They helped bring in the last of the stuff and get things set up. More and more people came and I was grateful so many people showed up.
The party was a lot of fun. The kids and a few adults roller skated for hours. I myself skated for over 2 hours. I felt like a kid again and was filled with joy. Sometimes I skated on my own and other times I would hold hands and skate together with the kids and adults.

Angel got lots of presents and the apple pies turned out. They weren’t the best but they were ok. I had used freshly ground wheat berries for the crust and it was a little tough but not overly hard. The filling was yummy though. It was made with apples and honey. Over all, it was a very successful party.
When the party was over, several people helped me clean up. Then I let Lila out and went to my older sisters. Other family was there and Angel opened more presents. She got a Nintendo switch from my older sister and was excited about that. I wasn’t excited about it. My sister insists that video games are good for kids but there is a huge difference in Angels moods when she is playing video games and when she is not. I don’t think they are good for kids at all.
Angel played her Nintendo and I reclined on the couch and took a short nap. When I woke up, I said goodbye to family that were leaving and called Jason. Angel stayed the night at my sisters again and I left to do a pet sitting opportunity in New Meadows. Before leaving town, I let Lila out and fed her.
I listened to Gregg Allman’s memoir My Cross to Bear on the drive to New Meadows. When I arrived, I let Lucky out and got settled in. Then I talked to Jason on the phone until 11 PM. I got off the phone, wrote my blog notes and went to sleep at around midnight.

Thank you for reading my blog and being a part of my life. I appreciate you.
Love, Victoria
