Sunday: Goodbye Motorhome, Kids Leaving and Zim’s

Sunday February 16, 2025

Dear Diary,

Good morning God,

  • Thank you for this day.
  • Thank you for my children.
  • Thank you for laughter.
  • Thank you for good sleep.
  • Thank you for grace.
  • Thank you for each breath.

I love you!

I awoke at 5 AM. I tried playing wordle and connections but I couldn’t stay awake. I sleep more until 8 AM. I got up and made tea. I made Angel breakfast and woke her up. While she ate, I made a smoothie and we got ready to go to my older sisters to see my son Scott before he left in the motorhome.

It was snowing and obviously had been snowing for a while since my truck was covered in snow. The roads were a little bit slick on the drive to my sisters. When I got to my sisters, Scott had left to walk to the store. My daughter Savana and her friend K were still sleeping. My sister was up and had made a bunch of food for the kids to eat. Angel got on Minecraft and when Scott got back from the store, he decided to wait until it stopped snowing before leaving to drive the motorhome to Salt Lake City. Since he was leaving later, we discussed having him taking Savana and K down to Boise instead of me driving them. That way it would save me from having to make the 5 hour round trip drive on bad roads. He said he would do it and that it would be nice to have company on part of his 7 hour drive.

Savana and K got up and we all hung out in the front room watching Angel play Minecraft. I had some of their laundry washing and they were waiting for it to finish. After a while Savana and K got dressed in their snowsuits to go outside and make a snowman. I drove them to the park a few blocks up the road and dropped them off. When I got back to my sisters, I put the kids clothes in the dryer. Then I stripped the sheets off of the upstairs beds and started them washing. I put clean sheets on the beds and made them up nice.

Savana and K got back and got ready to leave. Scott drove the motorhome in front of the house and we hugged goodbye. They loaded up their stuff and got in. I took a video of them as they drove off. It had been wonderful having them visit.

I went back inside and wrote some of my blog while Angel played Minecraft. My older sister was itching to get us out of the house so she could play video games with her boyfriend and I told her I wanted to wait a half hour because the church I go to was playing bunco after Sunday service and I wanted to go. I didn’t want to walk into church in the middle of the service and I didn’t want to wait in the truck either.

At 12:30 PM we drove to church but only one vehicle was in the parking lot and one of the church members was plowing the snow out of the parking lot. I asked him about bunco and he said that it was canceled. Angel said that she wanted to go to Zim’s Hot Springs instead, so we drove there. My friend Brett met us there and we swam for a couple of hours. I was feeling really tired. I talked with Brett a while but I was too tired to hold a conversation. I looked for Angels pony that she had lost in the bottom of the pool yesterday but I didn’t find it. I floated on my back, fully relaxing my body and sort of dozed off.

It has started snowing when we were in the pool and the drive home was slow going. When we arrived at home, I fed Angel and rested on the couch. Angel wanted to play board games, so I roused myself and we played What’s the Point, Old Maid and Sorry. Then we ate some oatmeal, brushed out teeth and went to bed. I watched a video on YouTube about a guy who’s lived in a subway tunnel in New York City for over 20 years. Then I watched a video of how a family survives in Siberia. Scott messaged saying that he had made it home to Salt Lake City. I was glad he had made it. I put on a sleep meditation and we drifted to sleep at 9 PM.

Thank you for reading my blog and being a part of my life. I appreciate you.

Love, Victoria
