Wednesday January 8, 2025

Dear Diary,

Good morning God

  • Thank you for this day.
  • Thank you for extra sleep.
  • Thank you for rv’s.
  • Thank you for my sisters.
  • Thank you for winter.

I love you!

I awoke at 10:30 pm and listened to my audiobook. Angel woke up and wouldn’t go back to sleep. I turned off the audiobook and she fell back asleep. I turned the audiobook back on and when it was past midnight I played wordle and connections. At around 2 am, I slept again until 8 am. Angel was already up and playing with legos in her room. I made her oatmeal for breakfast. For myself I made tea, ate half of a grapefruit and made a 64oz. smoothie to take with me later.

At 8:55 am, Angel and I drove to the recreation center to play pickleball. I wanted to walk but there wasn’t enough time.

Neither Angel or I had played pickleball before. The lady in charge gave us paddles to use and told us a little bit about it before other people showed up and everyone started playing. Some kids showed up and Angel and I played pickleball with the kids. Then I joined the adults for a couple of games and I think I did pretty good for my first time. When the other kids left, Angel had no one to play with. I played a little more pickleball with her and then we went home.

At home, Angel did her school work and I wrote some of my blog. For lunch I ate a grapefruit and Angel ate a quesadilla. Then we walked to the Community church for homeschool co-op. In the dining room there was a quilting group so we met in one of the classrooms. I talked to the quilting group a few minutes and they told me they met twice a month. The first Wednesday of the month they meet at the community church at noon and the second Friday of the month they meet at a church in Cambridge at noon.

At homeschool co-op, the kids did math color-by-number sheets. I did a color-by-number sheet while I chatted with the other moms. We talked about the community needing a dance class for the kids. I suggested starting one ourselves and I might just do that.

After co-op, another mom followed us to Zim’s hot springs. She had her 9 year old son with her.  Brett met us at Zim’s and we all swam for a couple of hours. When we got out, the other mom left and Brett and I played scrabble while Angel played on her phone.

My younger sister showed up at Zim’s with a friend. I was a nice surprise to see her. It’s great to live where I have family around. My sister introduced her friend and said that she had Christmas gifts in her car that she had been meaning to drop off.  She went out and brought the gifts in. She also said that she had forgotten her swim suit and was wondering if she could borrow mine. I was happy to let her use mine but warned her that it was wet and cold. She was fine with that and was glad to have a swim suit to wear.

Angel and I opened our gifts and got some really neat stuff from my younger sister and my biological dad and step mom. I appreciated their thoughtfulness. After gift opening, Brett and I continued playing scrabble and Angel continued playing on her phone. My sister finished swimming at the same time Brett and I finished our second game of scrabble. Perfect timing! We all left and headed to our respective homes. Angel and I listened to Lassie Comes Home on the drive through the canyon. My older sister was getting ready for bed when we arrived. Angel went upstairs to play and I walked 3 houses away to clean the bank. I enjoyed cleaning and listened to my audiobook Unnatural Deaths

When I got home, Angel and I went straight to bed. Angel read Green Eggs and Ham out loud while I wrote my blog notes. I put on a sleep meditation and we drifted to sleep at 10 pm.

Thank you for reading my blog and being a part of my life. I appreciate you.

Love, Victoria
