Down the Mountain and Back Up

February 24, 2026

Dear Diary and Friends,

Here is a quick recap of today. I awoke at 7 AM. By 8:15 AM, we were on our way to Mr. and Mrs. H’s. Angel and the cats and dogs were all fed. I had a 32 oz. smoothie and a 32 oz. fresh pineapple/carrot juice packed cold in a soft cooler. I also had two 20 oz. mugs with herbal tea and fresh lemon juice in them. I intended to stay hydrated and eat healthy and I did.

We listened to I Survive the Destruction of Pompeii on audio during the drive to the H’s. When we arrived, we said hello to Mr. H and left with Mrs. H to go to an appointment in Meridian. I drove there the back way through Emmett and we finished listening to the audio book on the drive. I was grateful to go the back way. It’s so much more relaxing than going on I-84 and it was raining. I prefer to go slower when driving in the rain and it only takes a few minutes longer to turn off of Highway 95 onto Highway 52 in Payette and go that way. It was a nice drive and I enjoyed looking at the scenery.

While Mrs. H was at her appointment Angel read and did her schoolwork. Then we ate at a restaurant called Clean Eatz, where I enjoyed a delicious salad. Outside the restaurant, I let the dogs out to use the bathroom and we headed back up the mountain towards home. We stopped in Weiser to get groceries and I bought 2 fruit trees to plant in my yard….a Bing cherry and a nectarine. Yay!!

After getting Mrs. H settled in at her house, I dropped Angel off at Girls Club. I went home, put away the groceries, got a fire going in the wood stove and walked over to Girls Club. Girls Club and the Royal Rangers were learning first aide. The kids were really into it and it was fun watching them.

By the time the class was over at 8 PM, I was ready for bed. Angel and I walked home and had a quick snack. Angel talked to her sister on the phone and we went to bed. I wrote my blog, meditated and went to sleep at 9:45 PM.

Thank you for reading my blog and being a part of my life. I love people and that includes you.

Love, Victoria
