- mind: clear
- body: sore throat and congestion clearing up.
Today’s goals:

Today’s nutrition and hydration:
- 48 oz. herbal tea
- 48 oz. water with fresh lime juice
Dear Diary,
I slept off and on through the night. I was feeling really congested and miserable but I was ok with that. I decided to enjoy being sick. I still fasted and had only water with lime juice all day, my body needed a good fast. I do intermittent fasting everyday day but that’s not even close to the same as doing an extended water only fast. Other than the congestion, heavy head and slight fever, the rest of my body felt incredible. All inflammation was gone. Yay!
I slept and rested until more firewood was delivered. I went out and started stacking it so it wouldn’t be laying in the middle of the yard getting rained on. Angels friends came over as we were stacking and they all helped. I was grateful for the help because I was feeling rough. After we got the wood stacked, I was exhausted and laid down. Angels friends came inside. They were hanging out and staying the night while their parents went to buy them Christmas presents. Their mom said the kids had already gotten the crud going around when I told her I was sick and she wasn’t concerned about them getting it from me. I wasn’t concerned either then and was glad Angel had some kids to play with.
One of the kids got out a brand new 500 piece puzzle of Idaho that he found with the games and I helped him start putting it together. He got tired of the puzzle after a while but I became obsessed with it and spent the evening working on it until it was finished. The kids helped me at the end and were excited to put the last pieces in.

In the meantime, the kids had gotten into Angels Halloween candy that I had forgotten to get rid of (it’s gone now) and they were bouncing off the walls. Running through the house screaming and making messes everywhere. I told them they needed to calm down and fed them a big dinner hoping it would soak up some of the candy, no such luck.
At bedtime they wouldn’t stay in bed and I kept yelling at them to get back in bed. Finally they fell asleep and so did I.

Dear Diary,
Today was filled with joy and sadness. The sun was shining which felt incredible after a few cloudy drizzly days. I woke up feeling 100% better. I felt better than better. Yay for water fasting for 2 days. I planned on keeping it going to complete 3 full days.
Angel had a couple of friends stay the night last night. When the kids woke up in the morning, I fed them breakfast, then we walked to the library to pick up gingerbread house kits to put together and enter into a contest. We brought the kits home and a big mess was made putting them together, but the kids had fun. I think they ate just as much frosting as they put on the houses, after I had already told them “no candy today”. When I caught them eating the frosting, they said that it wasn’t candy.. it was frosting. “Same difference”, I told them and gave them a stern look. They didn’t seem fazed 😂.

Next, we rode on the 4-wheeler to the craft fair. Last year I was in the craft fair as a vendor, selling painted rocks and homemade dog coats. I didn’t sell much but I did meet a lot of people which was my goal since I was new to the community then. This year I got to wander around and talk to people. I was in heaven! Both of my sisters met me there and it was so much fun. I was surprised that I knew the majority of the people there, after living here for only just one year, but I loved it. I enjoy people so much. I love their eyes and their smiles and their different voices and personalities. People are so wonderful.
One of Angels friends stayed at the craft fair with his mom, while I took Angel and her other friend around town on the 4-wheeler. Several places in town had crafts for the kids to do or treats to give out. We went to the coffee shop and the girls made reindeer necklaces. Then we went by city hall where they had grinch cups with packets of hot cocoa. Then we went to M&W, where they said they didn’t know they were on the list and didn’t have a craft for the kids but the girls could get some hot chocolate out of the machine if they wanted and they did. Next we went to U of I extension office and the girls made globe Christmas ornaments. Then we went to the library and they colored little wooden tree ornaments. Next we went to the herb store and made little Christmas tree ornaments. Across the street at the gift shop, they had a craft in a bag for the kids to take to go. Then we went to “Santa’s house” and got pictures with Santa. Angel won’t tell me what she wants for Christmas but she told Santa. I got with Santa afterward and Angel said she wanted clay and slime for Christmas 🤷♀️. Our last 2 stops were Dollar General and the health clinic, where they had grab bags for the kids to take with them. I love that the town does this for the kids. It was so much fun.

We went back to the craft fair and picked up another of Angels friends to take with us to a kids birthday party. Then we picked up Angels friend that had stayed at the craft fair earlier. I took the 4 kids to my house so they could make gifts to give to the birthday girl. I got out the craft supplies and the earlier mess from the gingerbread houses got bigger as craft supplies were scattered all over during the crafting chaos. The kids had fun and all managed to come up with some creative gifts.
Before we left to go to the Christmas party, I checked my phone and noticed that I had a missed call and a message from one of Mr. and Mrs. H’s daughters that lives in California. The message said that something was wrong with Mrs. H and she was being life flighted to a hospital. I immediately returned the call and was told that they think Mrs. H might have had a stroke. When I got off the phone, I called and talked to Mr. H. He was upset and said he didn’t know yet where life fight was taking Mrs. H but a neighbor was going to drive him to whatever hospital they took her too. The fire chief who was there got on the phone and said he would call me and let me know where what hospital she would be out when he found out.
When I got off the phone, I started crying. Mrs. H and I have become really close. We talk on the phone once or twice a day and we’ve become good friends. I prayed that it wasn’t anything serious going on with her.
I gathered myself together, got the kids on the 4-wheeler and we rode over to the birthday party. It was a really fun party. There were a lot of kids there and I enjoyed talking with the other parents. The fire chief called and told me what hospital Mrs. H was at. I put a call into the hospital and the nurse called me back saying that Mrs. H is stable and all her vitals looked good but they would need to do tests to figure out what was going on. I told the nurse that Mrs. H was a wonderful lady. The nurse told me that Mrs. H said the same thing about me ❤️.
Towards the end of the birthday party, I broke my fast by eating a few carrots and a small bowl of beans. I had officially completed a full 48 hours. The food tasted incredible and I felt my body surge with energy. What a rush!
After the party, I cleaned the church and the bank and two of Angels friends stayed the night again. They had another slumber party in the living room and were much mellower tonight. They watched Cars on Angels dvd player and fell asleep. I was feeling amazing and full of energy. I want sure if I could sleep but once I got into bed, I went to sleep right away.

Dear Diary,
First thing in the morning, Mrs. H called me. It was so good to hear her voice and she sounded like herself, full of sass. I was cheering with joy inside knowing that she was ok. She said that the doctors couldn’t find anything wrong with her but would continue doing more tests.
The event of the day was flooding my bathroom. I started a bath in the morning when I got up. I heard the kids waking up in the front room and went out there to check on them. Then I stoked up the fire in the wood-stove and was writing my blog when I heard water splashing. I ran to the bathroom and the entire floor was covered in an inch of water. I quickly turned off the bathtub faucets and pulled the drain. Then I started grabbing towels and throwing them on the floor to soak up the water. The kids heard me yelling and came running. They saw the water everywhere and ran off. They came back with their arms full of kitchen towels and threw them on the floor. Once the bathtub was drained, I began tossing the soaking wet towels in there and adding more dry ones to the floor. I couldn’t believe how much water there was. We ended up using every single towel in the house in before we got all the water cleaned up. Then I started the task of washing all the towels.
I made the kids breakfast. Angels friends went home and we went to church. First we went to the Nazarene church for the singing and share time. Then we went to the Assembly of God church for play practice.
After church I went to Mr. H’s and helped him with things he needed done since Mrs. H was in the hospital. I played a quick game of cribbage with him before I left and he really liked that.
When I got to town, I quickly got ready to do the parade line-up. I put Christmas coats on the dogs and rode the 4-wheeler to the meeting spot which was changed to one block over…I found that out quickly 😂. The parade line up was controlled chaos but it all came together. Two of Angels friends came over to ride on the 4-wheeler with us. The parade started and we were off. It was fun riding in the parade. Next year I’ll be more prepared and add lights to the 4- wheeler.

After the parade, we watched the tree lighting and hung out at the park for a while so the kids could all play. Then I took Angels friend home and we went to our house. I started a bath and set a timer so I wouldn’t forgot about it again. Then I read a chapter from Ralph S. Mouse to Angel and she read a chapter from a Babysitters Club book to me. We each took a bath and went to bed at around 10:30 PM.

Dear Diary,
I awoke in the night and wrote some of my blog. Then I slept more and awoke again at 8 AM. I got up and stoked up the fire in the wood stove. Then I made Angel breakfast and made myself hot water with fresh lime juice. I wanted to pay my water bill before I forgot, so I bundled up and rode the 4-wheeler to city hall and paid this months and next months water bill just because I like to be a month ahead on my bills.
When I got home, Angel ate her breakfast and started on her schoolwork. I went to my friend TJ’s and helped her put plastic around the chicken coop to keep the chickens warm this winter. It was wonderful spending time with her and after we finished, we sat and talked for a while and shared what we are each working on within ourselves.
When I got home, I rested and wrote and drank a 32 oz. smoothie that I had leftover from yesterday. Angel ate lunch and played in her room until it was time for us to go help Mr. H.
At Mr. H’s, I did some cleaning and organizing and fed him dinner. We talked to Mrs. H on the phone and she said she will be released from the hospital tomorrow. I have cleaning clients scheduled for tomorrow until 2 PM and was hoping she would say they were releasing her in the evening but she said it will probably be in the late morning, but she will let me know when she knows for sure. I told her that I will clear my schedule and be there with Ed.
By the time we headed home, Mrs. H still hasn’t heard for sure what time she will be release tomorrow. I decided to go ahead and plan on it being in the morning. Angel was having a friend stay the night tonight and I changed that and instead, Angel will be going to their house in the morning and spending the day at her friends and then she will go to my sisters in the evening if I am not back yet.
Before we got home, I stopped at one of my clients houses that I need to reschedule for tomorrow and explained about what was going on. They were happy to let me come a different day and I was grateful for their understanding. At home, I fed Angel dinner and walked to the bank to clean it (I got my walk in). While I was there, I rescheduled my other morning client. Then I practiced the song I am singing at church Sunday while I cleaned.
Back at home, I read the last of Ralph S. Mouse to Angel and she took a bath while I wrote some more on my blog. I’m focused on getting caught up on it again, which seems to be eluding me since life goes on.
After Angel got out of the bath, we went to bed and went to sleep at around 10 PM.

Dear Diary,
I was delighted to bring Mrs. H home from the hospital today. Yay! The day started out with me not knowing what time I needed to leave to go pick up Mrs. H. I called her when I woke up at 7 AM and she didn’t know either but said she should know soon. If it was going to be later in the day, I wanted to get a cleaning opportunity done before I had to leave. I stoked the fire up and made Angel breakfast. For myself I made hot water with fresh lime juice.
After Angel ate, she went to a friends to spend the day. Then at 5 PM she will go to my older sisters until I get back from getting Mrs. H from the hospital in Boise. I sat by the fire and wrote my blog until Mrs. H called me again and said that she would be discharged from the hospital and 3 PM. Perfect! I could do a cleaning opportunity today before I left.
I quickly got ready and drove to my cleaning opportunity. I enjoyed cleaning and finished right on time to go to Mrs. H’s, pick up clothes for her and drive to the hospital in Boise. While I was getting Mrs. H clothes, I asked Ed if he needed anything before I left. He said he was good but asked if I could stop and buy a portable laptop DVD player for him on the way home if Irene was feeling up to it.
The drive to Boise was fun. I called a few people (hands-free) and had fun conversations. Mrs. H and I were happy to see each other when I arrived at the hospital. It took us a while to get out of there but we were finally on our way back up the mountain. We stopped and got the DVD player and some groceries. Then when we got to Midvale, we stopped and ate at a little restaurant. I was really hungry and even though I didn’t want to eat that late at night. I don’t like to eat after 6PM because that’s when my digestive system starts to shut down for the night. I decided to eat a small salad from the salad bar. Immediately after I ate, I regretted it. Instantly, I felt tired and sluggish.
At Mr. and Mrs. H’s, I brought in their groceries and showed Mr. H how to use the dvd player. He is teaching himself how to cane a chair seat and he can’t see very well. His daughter sent him a DVD on how to cane and I suggested the portable DVD player to him so that he can lift it up closer to his face to see it. He liked that idea and that’s why he asked me to pick one up for him.
When I got to Council, I got Angel from my sisters and went home. I started a fire in the wood-stove and washed today’s laundry. I like to run a small load of laundry every evening, to wash that days clothing and hang them to dry overnight. I’m so grateful to have a washing machine again so I can do that.
I read Angel one chapter from Arctic Adventure by William Price and we went to bed. I wrote part of my blog and went to sleep at 10:30 PM.

Dear Diary,
Angel woke up and walked straight into the kitchen to eat breakfast. She likes to eat as soon as she wakes up and her breakfast is usually ready and waiting for her. This morning I didn’t have it made yet and she asked me where her breakfast was. I told her that it wasn’t ready yet. With desperation in her voice, she wailed “it’s not even started”. I told her that she would be ok and started her “taters” cooking.
After Angel ate, we went to the recycling center and recycled all our plastic. Then I went to a cleaning opportunity. Angel did her schoolwork while I cleaned and when I finished, I took Angel home and she rode her bicycle to a friend’s house to spend the day and stay overnight. I went to M&W and bought my earlier clients groceries and brought them to him.
I drove out to Mr. and Mrs. H’s and picked up Mr. H to take him to an appointment in Nampa. The drive there was uneventful, other than I felt really tired the last half hour. I was glad when we arrived so I could get out and stretch. When Mr. H was called back to see the doctor. I let the dogs out of the truck to run around. It was 65° out which is crazy warm for December and I was perfectly fine in a short sleeve shirt. I laid on the soft grass and basked in the warmth. I could have drifted off to sleep if I would have let myself but I had a job to do. I roused myself and put the dogs back the truck.
I went inside and waited for Mr. H to get done. While I waited I wrote my blog. The appointment took about 45 minutes and then we headed back up the mountain. When we dropped down into Midvale, we drove into an inversion and it was really foggy. We stopped at the cafe there and I had broccoli soup and salad.
It was almost completely dark out by the time we finished eating and the fog was so thick that I couldn’t go very fast on the highway. Then when we got on the backroad to Goodrich, I could barely see the road at all without the reflective lines. We crawled along at 15 mph until we got above the fog. Then we were greeted by a glorious sunset.

I got Mr. H settled in at home with Mrs. H and I made it home just in time get a fire going in the wood-stove before doing a Life Coaching phone call with a client. The coaching session went great and when it was over, I cleaned the bank. As soon as I got home, I went straight to bed and went to sleep right away at 10 PM.

Dear Diary,
I made 3 trips out to Goodrich today. The first trip was at 8 AM for a pet sitting opportunity. The owner wanted to show me a few things right before she left. The second trip was around 2:30 in the strong when I went to Mr. and Mrs. H’s. I did some cleaning and organizing for them. While I was there I saw a little western spotted skunk. He was so cute! Before I drove back to Council, I stopped at my pet sitting opportunity, fed the animals and played fetch with the dogs. The third trip was later in the evening, back to my pet sitting opportunity, to stay the night.

In between driving to Goodrich, I walked to a client/friend’s house and helped her do some organizing in her garage after I vacuumed her house for her. Then I went to the thrift store before doing another cleaning opportunity. In the evening, Angel went to a friends to stay the night and I walked to church to practice singing the song I will be singing at church on Sunday with the musicians. That was a lot of fun and I loved singing along with a mandolin and a guitar. Pastor Amy was there and harmonized with me. I told her she should join in with me on Sunday and she said she might.
After singing practice, I made it to the end of a chamber of commerce meeting before going back out to Goodrich for pet sitting. I got the dogs all introduced and settled. I fed the animals and wrote my blog for a while. I am almost completely caught up. Yay! I went to bed at 10 PM and instantly fell asleep.
