Dear Diary,

Angel got to spend time with her biological dad today. We were going to meet at a public park but it was snowing and raining out, so we met in downtown Salt Lake City at Trolley Square Whole Foods, in the cafe area. Angel has met her dad before but she was too young to remember. She was nervous about meeting him but still really wanted to do it. When we arrived at the store and we were walking towards the door, suddenly there was her dad. They met, everything went fine. Her dad asked questions about her life and she quickly warmed up to him.

We stayed at Whole Foods awhile and then decided to figure out somewhere else to go that’s more kid friendly. I remembered taking my other kids to the planetarium in Salt Lake City when they were younger and we met up over there.

Clark Planetarium is really neat https://www.saltlakecounty.gov/clark-planetarium/. They have theaters you can go to but the best part of the planetarium is the interactive exhibits and they are all free. There’s 3 levels and a lot of exhibits and we spent hours there. It was a great place for Angel and her dad to play and get to know each other. I also loved that Angel was learning science without her even knowing it. We all had great fun. Angels dad and I got along great, which I knew we would. I’m a completely different person now than I was when him and I were together and I don’t hold onto the past anymore.

When it started to get later in the day, we said goodbye to Angels dad and went to Scott and Delany’s. We hung out with them for a half hour or so, then we went to Shawn and Bri’s. My grandson Sam who is 6 years old wanted me to take him to do something fun. Originally I had planned to take him to Crystal Hot Springs https://www.crystalhotsprings.net/home/  but it’s an hour drive each way and it was getting too late. So I suggested bowling instead and he was excited about that.

We had fun at the bowling alley. It was Sam, Angel and myself that went. The kids ate and bowled and played video games in the arcade. Well they didn’t really play video games since I wasn’t interested in spending money on that. They just pretended to play them which suited Sam just fine but Angel got bored with it pretty quickly.

When the kids were ready to go, I took Sam home and hugged everyone goodbye. We will be leaving early in the morning and I won’t see them again before we leave. Then I drove to Scott’s. Scott and Delany were just getting ready to go to bed and we did the same. I was tired and still had a scratchy throat. We got into bed and went to sleep at 8:30 PM.

Dear Diary,

We had an uneventful drive home from Salt Lake City. We listened to another audiobook in the Warriors series. This was book number 5 A Dangerous Path and it was graphically violent in places. Each book in the series seems to increase in violence and the violence in this book was horrible and made me feel sick to my stomach. I’m a rated G or nothing person. I don’t like to fill my mind with violent thoughts whether they be real or made up, our subconscious doesn’t understand the difference. That’s one reason I don’t watch the news. I’ve noticed the difference in people that watch the news and those that don’t, just by what they get upset about and the fears they have. I told Angel we couldn’t listen to that audiobook series anymore and we would have to find something else to listen to but for now, I put on happy music.

It took us an hour longer to get home because once we got to Boise, I got off the interstate and took the back roads home. It was so nice to be off of the interstate! I was over it and wanted to have a relaxing peaceful drive the rest of the way home. I went through Emmett and got on the dirt road that comes out at Indian Valley.

Once I got on the dirt road, I relaxed even more and took my time, enjoying the scenery and stopping at Big Willow Creek to let the dogs run.

When we arrived home, I started a fire in the wood-stove and we got settled in. We each took a bath which felt heavenly. Then wet got ready for bed. Suddenly I remembered that I still had to clean the bank. Ack! I got dressed and walked over and cleaned it. When I got home, once again I got ready for bed. I read Angel one chapter from Ralph S. Mouse and we went to bed. I was tired and still had a scratchy throat. I drifted off to sleep right away at around 8:30 PM.

Dear Diary,

The highlight of the day was getting the chicken coop off of the trailer. The coop has to weigh over 500 lbs and I can’t even budge it with my own strength. I didn’t want it to sit on the trailer all winter and we had the possibility of snow in the next couple of days, so I came up with a master plan on how to get it off the trailer on my own. I used my truck to put the trailer where I wanted the chicken coop to be, which turned out to be a complicated ordeal but I finally got the trailer where I wanted it. Then I got the 4-wheeler and parked it at the open end of the trailer. I strapped the coop to the 4-wheeler and made sure the brake was on.  Then I got in the truck and drove forward slowly in order to pull the trailer out from underneath the coop. It was working until it wasn’t. I stopped and got out to see what was going on. One corner of the coop was caught on the edge of the trailer and it was too heavy for me to push it back to straighten it out. I got on the 4-wheeler and rammed the back of it into the chicken coop to see if that would straighten it out and get it unstuck. It took a couple of times but it worked. Yay. I drove the 4-wheeler forward to see if I could use it to pull the chicken coop the rest of the way off the trailer. It’s a little 2-wheel drive 4-wheeler and the chicken coop didn’t move. I backed up to the trailer and drove forward as fast as I could. The chicken coop lurched forward off of the trailer and almost tipped over on top of me, then to my relief it straightened up and landed exactly where I wanted it. Yay! I had gotten the chicken coop off the trailer and into its spot all by myself, without getting hurt.

Other highlights of the day were, I cleaned up at the scrap metal and wood from around the shed and stacked it nicely. Angel and I played a fun educational board game called Race Across the USA. In the afternoon, a bunch of kids came over and played hide-n-seek. I joined in the fun and helped the kids find good hiding places. Later in the evening, the boys went home and I took the girls to Girls Club. All the girls at Girls Club were really wound up tonight and it was a challenge to keep them reigned in.

After Girls Club, I took Angels friend home and we took a bath. Then I read to Angel a chapter from Ralph S. Mouse and we went to sleep at around 10 PM.

Dear Diary,

I had an amazing prayer and meditation time in the middle of the night from 1 pm to 3 pm. I love my middle of the night quiet time. I appreciate the clarity and insights I receive. I still had a scratchy throat and it seemed worse.

When I got up in the morning at around 7 AM my throat was definitely worse. I decided it would be best if I didn’t go to my cleaning opportunities today since every single one of my clients is over 80 years old and I didn’t want to take the chance of making them sick. After picking up my azure order at 8 AM. I called my clients and canceled today’s cleanings.

After making tea and breakfast for Angel. I sat by the fire writing when I received a text from my mom saying that if I came down to see her and my cousin (who is coming to Idaho to visit) on Friday, that I was only allowed to stay two hours because she could only handle being around me for that long. I don’t understand why she is constantly trying to start drama for no reason but I should know by now to just expect it 😂. I called her up to find out what the issue was. It seems that she is still smoldering about an event that happened this summer where Angel talked back to her and I stood up for Angel when my mom kept badgering Angel over and over. Let it go lady! What a hot mess! I was really pleased with how well I handled things during our conversation. She kept saying mean things and I calmly kept telling her to stop being mean. My emotional triggers were barely nicked which was huge progress compared to my past reactions to her bullying.

When I got off the phone with my mom, I called my older sister to see if she was going down to our moms to see our cousin and she said she wasn’t because she had forgot about it. I told her about the drama our mom was starting and that I was going to text our cousin and invite her to come up here to visit us. My sister thought that was a great idea and we changed to subject to discuss what we were going to do for Christmas.

It was a beautiful sunny day and since I had canceled my cleanings, I decided it would do me good to go on a drive up in the mountains to get some fresh mountain air and let the dogs run. We drove up to 4,500 feet and pulled over when the snow on the north side of the mountain road was getting deep. Angel and I walked around enjoying the beauty of the creek and the snow and the mountains while the dogs ran and ran.

When we got home, I started a sweet potato soup going in the Instant Pot and hung up new/used curtain in the living room. Then I sat by the fire and rested until it was time to clean the bank. When I got home from cleaning, I talked to Mrs. H on the phone. Then I took a bath and sat by the fire and read one chapter from Ralph S Mouse. Then Angel and I went to bed at around 10:30 PM.

Dear Diary,

I woke up in the night and the scratchy throat I’d had since Saturday seemed to be getting even worse instead of better. Why won’t this scratchy throat go away? I noticed that the air quality was really bad and thought maybe that was the cause and maybe it wasn’t anything contagious.

When I awoke in the morning, my scratchy throat seemed to be getting better. After making tea and feeding Angel. I went to an appointment to get my hair cut. I got my hair trimmed, layered and added some wispy bangs. The lady did a great job and I really like it.

Next, I walked to the library where Angel was having homeschool book club. I sat and talked to the other parents a while. When Angel left to go to jujitsu, I walked home and by the time I arrived I felt feverish. I laid down and instantly fell asleep. I slept off and off the rest of the day. The sore throat cleared up and was replaced with congestion. My head was heavy and I had a low grade fever of 100°. I didn’t eat anything and drank a lot of water with fresh lime juice. Angel played in her room most of the day and came to check on me every so often. I assured her that I would be better soon. At bedtime she brought me one of her extra blankets and laid it across me in case I needed it. What a sweet girl!

Thank you for reading my blog and being a part of my life. I appreciate you!

Love, Victoria

P. S. This was November 30 through December 4. A lot has happened since then. Stay tuned.
