Morning prayer:
God morning God,
- Thank you for this day.
- Thank you for bicycle rides.
- Thank you for dogs and cats.
- Thank you for an abundance of blessings.
- Thank you for love.
I love you!
I awoke at 2 AM and wrote my blog. I posted it and watched a great video before going back to sleep at 4 AM. My phone rang at 6 AM and woke me up. I looked to see who was calling. It was my friend Sarah in Texas. We have been talking on the phone a lot lately due to a situation she is experiencing. I ran through the possibility of the call being an emergency and the likelihood was low, she would leave a message.
I got up in the dark and opened the east curtains so the sun would shine in when it pops up over the mountain. I love having the sun shine into my home. It’s so bright and cheery when lit up by sunlight. I’m blessed with a while row of east windows in my apartment.
I checked on Angel and crawled back into my warm bed where the dogs and the cat were keeping things warm. Both dogs sleep under the covers and take up half of my twin bed. Little Bit is at the bottom by my feet and Tiny-Boy cuddles up next to my chest, he’s my snuggle buddy. Sweetie Alabama, the cat, sleeps on top of the covers on the other side of my feet. It’s a good cozy set up that works well for all of us, other than when I want to move or roll over.
I woke up at 7:30 AM. I wake up naturally between 7 AM and 8 AM. If I have to be up earlier, I know when I have to be awake and I wake up at that time. I haven’t used an alarm clock in years, I just wake up. I laid in bed and enjoyed staying in a relaxed state for a while. I remembered my dream and Tiny-Boy had gotten hurt in it. I rolled over and gave T-Boy a kiss on the head. He looked at me with happy sleepy eyes. I whispered to him that he was a good boy. His eyes smiled and I snuggled up to him for a few minutes.
I got up and started the teapot boiling. I let the dogs out, one at a time, while I made my bed. Then I took a shower, I stretched my body and washed my hair, which really needed to be washed. I made Angel breakfast and walked to M&W to refresh my gratitude sign. It was cool out and I was wearing a t-shirt and jeans. The cold crisp air felt so good on my arms. I breathed in the fresh smell of morning and it was invigorating. It was going to be a wonderful day!

I did a cleaning opportunity in the morning and my client had cut out a section in the local newspaper that told some of the history of Peacock Mine. My client worked at the mine when it was up and running. He told me about a cave-in that happened, it barely missed him and killed the guy standing next to him. My client has lived in Council since he was born and he’s in his 80’s now. He likes hearing about my adventures and tells me stories about the places I’ve been. He told me of another place to explore called “Wildhorse”. He explained to me how to get there and that is going to be my next adventure.
After visiting the thrift store, I helped another client who lives half a block away. I cleaned out the refrigerator in his motorhome. It was a smelly soppy sticky mess but I got it looking like brand new within an hour. I moved another small refrigerator into his house for him using a dolly. I also used the dolly to move a couple of tall propane tanks onto a flat table we had bought at the thrift store.
Next, I went to the courthouse. I said hi to my older sister and Little Bit and T-Boy had to say hi to everyone. Then I got divorce papers that Christopher had sent me signed and notarized and I got the title to the camper and 4-wheeler put in my name. Yay! I was glad all that was done.
After making a crustless quiche to take to a skate party potluck later, I went to the food bank on the 4-wheeler with the dogs. I got 3 big bags of apples and pears and a bag of potatoes as well as some canned goods. I took the canned goods to the library to donate and traded for a box of free plums and a box of free walnuts. So much free fresh produce! I was in produce heaven. I rode home, put all the food inside and felt blessed to receive it all. Then Angel and I rode the 4-wheeler to a skate party at the fairgrounds.

The skate party was a lot of fun. I skated a little and I really enjoyed talking to the other parents. I picked up one of Angels friends when he got out of school…a boy that she has a crush on…and brought him to the skate party. The kids all had a blast and so did the dogs. The dogs got lots of attention and appreciated all the potluck food scraps that had fallen to the floor as they excitedly gobbled them up.

After the skate party, Angel stayed the night at a friends and I went to my friend TJ’s. I fed and watered the chickens and finished up some things. Then I went home and saw some beautiful flowers sitting in a small jar on my counter. I knew they were from my neighbor. I called her and asked about the flowers and I was correct, they were from her. I thanked her and felt blessed to have such wonderful people in my life. I got off the phone and went to bed early. Yay, I love early bedtime. I read the article my client had given me and wrote my blog notes. Then I talked on the phone with my friend Sarah. I started reading a Patrick McManus book and I laughed and laughed and laughed. That guy is great fun. I turned off the light and went to sleep at around 9 PM.
Thank you for reading my blog and being a part of my life. I appreciate you!
Love, Victoria
