Dear Diary,
I awoke at 5 AM. Angel was sleeping on the trundle bed next to me and she woke up too. She noticed Sweetie Alabama messing with something under my bed. I got down and looked and it was a little bat. I got a cloth and tried to get the bat but Sweetie Alabama ran off with it in her mouth. I caught up to her in Angels room and she had dropped it on the floor. I gently picked it up with the cloth and looked it over. It looked to be unharmed. I carried it out to the entryway and set it on the bench. Then Angel and I each petted it on the head. It was super soft. We went inside, washed our hands and got back into bed.
I dozed off and on the rest of the night and got up at 7:30 AM. I made tea and a smoothie and breakfast for Angel. I invited my neighbor over to see the progress being made with tearing down the burnt building. We chatted for a few minutes, then she went home and I left to do a cleaning opportunity. I talked with my client and cleaned while Angel did her schoolwork.
Next, we drove to New Meadows and I started a pet sitting opportunity watching Lucky and another dog named Sid. I let the dogs out and went to another cleaning opportunity down the road. My client had me wash her windows, inside and out, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Then we went back to my pet sitting house and I left Little Bit there with the other dogs while Angel and I went to Zim’s Hot Springs.
We swam at the hot springs for an hour or so. Angel found some kids to play with and I stretched and floated on my back, fully relaxing my body. I switched back and forth from the cold pool and the hot pool. In the summertime, the big pool is kept at 91°f and the little pool is kept at 101°. Perfect summertime temperatures.
After swimming, we let the dogs out again and I got Little Bit. We drove to Council and I quickly visited the thrift store before it closed. Then I rested at home. I talked to people on the phone and relaxed on the day bed. At 6 PM, I did a phone call with a coaching client. The session went great. Then I cleaned the bank and we went back to New Meadows to stay overnight with Lucky and Sid. We played with the dogs and got ready for bed. I read a couple of chapters from The National Park Mystery Series book 5 and we went to sleep at around 9:30 PM.

Dear Diary,
I awoke at 5 AM. I let the dogs out and wrote my blog until 6:30 AM. I woke Angel up and we hearted (headed) to Council. On the drive we listened to an audiobook called The Mystery at Dark Cedar. Our first stop was my friend TJ’s. I checked on the chicks and hand watered a bunch of plants. Then I turned the sprinklers on and harvested some blackberries, strawberries and cherry tomatoes.
After going through our morning routine at home, Angel went to a friends and I walked next door and helped my neighbor pick peaches from her tree. She gave me a flat to take home. I also harvested apples and blackberries from her yard. I am getting so much yummy produce right now. It’s delightful.
Later in the morning, when I went to a cleaning/organizing opportunity, my client asked if I would drive her to Weiser to do some shopping. I was happy to do that. It was a fun drive there and we ate lunch at a pizza place. I enjoyed eating salad, I haven’t eaten salad in a long time because it hurt to chew. My jaw is slowly getting better. I can chew now but it still hurts some.
Next we went to Bi-Mart. It was my first time in Bi-Mart and I wasn’t impressed. It was like an overpriced Walmart. My client got what she needed and we went next door to Ridley’s grocery store.
By the time we left Weiser, I was completely shopped out. When we got to my clients house, I helped bring her purchases inside and headed (hearted) back to Council. I hand watered a bunch of potted plants at my friend TJ’s and picked up Angel from her friends.
We briefly stopped at home, then we went to our pet sitting opportunity in New Meadows. I let the dogs out and gave them lots of attention. Then I talked to Aaron on the phone and thoroughly cleaned the kitchen and the bathroom.
When I finished cleaning, Angel and I got in bed. I read a couple chapters from The National Park Mystery Series book 5 and we went to sleep at around 10:30 PM.

Dear Diary,
I awoke at 12:30 AM. I let the dogs out, wrote my blog and went back to sleep at 4 AM. At 8 AM, I woke up. I hadn’t planned on sleeping that late. I got up and let the dogs out and fed them. Then I woke up Angel and we drove home. On the drive we listened to an audiobook called Mystery at Dark Cedars.
I walked to M&W and refreshed my gratitude sign as soon as we got home. Then I did my morning routine of making tea and a smoothie and feeding Angel breakfast. I was thinking thoughts of gratitude and adventures as I happily moved about the kitchen.
Angel and I walked to my older sisters to get my mail and we talked for a few minutes about taking her to Lost Creek Falls. Then I went to a 2 hour cleaning opportunity. When I finished, I went home and walked to the thrift store. I found a set of Babysitters Club books for Angel to read. I also found some church shoes for Angel that she likes a lot and they fit her.
At home, we got ready to go to Lost Creek Falls but then my sister canceled going. So I fed Angel lunch and started reading one of the Babysitters Club books. After reading a few chapters, we got ready to go and went to our pet sitting opportunity in New Meadows. I let the dogs out and spent time loving on them. Then we went to Zim’s Hot Springs. We swam for a couple of hours. Angel played with kids and I stretched and floated on my back fully relaxing my body.
After swimming, we had dinner at a restaurant. I had a baked potato which sat heavy on my stomach since I’d been eating mostly fresh produce for a couple of weeks. We arrived back at our pet sitting house and let the dogs out. Then we cuddled up with the dogs and I read a few more chapters from the Babysitters Club books. I also had Angel read a page here and there. Her reading is improving and I started having her read for a half hour each day. She did her half hour of reading when I was done. Then we went to bed early and fell asleep at 8:30 PM.

Dear Diary,
I awoke at 12:30 AM. I let the dogs out, wrote my blog and went back to sleep at 3 AM. At 7:15 AM I awoke again. I let the dogs out and woke Angel up. We got ready to go and drove to Council.
I went to my friend TJ’s, I harvested some black berries and tomatoes. Then, I fed and watered the chickens and turned on the sprinklers to water to lawn. I went home and walked over to my neighbors to help her pick peaches. We picked a lot of peaches and the tree doesn’t even look like we’ve touched it. It’s still full of peaches. While I was there, I harvested apples and blackberries for myself and my neighbor gave me a flat of peaches. So much fresh produce!! My kitchen and refrigerator are getting really full and it’s wonderful.
Later in the day, at a clients house. We were going through boxes in the attic above the garage. Two significant things happened, I lost my glasses and Little Bit got filthy dirty chasing a pack rat around. It was hot in the attic and sweat had been dripping on my glasses. So I had taken them off without consciously paying attention to where I set them down. I realized they were missing when I packed a box of garbage outside and noticed that they weren’t on my face. It was dark in the attic and I used my phone flashlight to look for them but couldn’t find them anywhere. I searched through the boxes of stuff we were throwing away. I searched through the boxes of stuff we were keeping. Finally we gave up the search until we could get a better flashlight.
In the meantime, Little Bit had been having the time of his life chasing a pack rat all over the attic. He was one happy dog and he was filthy dirty. When we walked back to the house, Little Bit got a bath with the outside hose water. My client had some baby shampoo that I scrubbed him down with. He does not like baths and tried to run off in the middle of it but he came crawling back when I called him. He’s a good boy and always comes when called even if he doesn’t want to 😂.
My client brought me a good flashlight and we went back up to the attic above the garage. I searched all over, calling to my glasses. Suddenly I found them, or rather, they found me. They had fallen down in a crack between the drawers of an upside down desk. I was delighted to have my glasses back on my face.
When we got home, I cleaned the Assembly of God church, went to the thrift store and cleaned the bank. Then we went to New Meadows and let the dogs out. We spent some time with the dogs and then went swimming at Zim’s. A dragonfly sat on my finger for a while when I was relaxing in the water. I had a conversation with it about the wonders of life. Then the dragonfly flew away.

Later at bedtime, Angel read to me from a Garfield comic book. She thought the comics were great fun and we laughed and laughed together. Aaron called and I talked to him for a few minutes. Then Angel finished reading and we went to sleep at 9 PM.

Dear Diary,
I awoke at 1:30 AM. I let the dogs out, wrote my blog and went back to sleep at 4 AM. At 7:30 AM, I awoke again. I got up, fed the dogs and got ready to go. I woke Angel up and we hearted (headed) to Council.
At home, I made tea and a smoothie and fed Angel breakfast. Then we went to a friends to pick up a couple of feral kittens. My friend and her husband had caught them in live traps. We brought the kittens home. I combined them into one trap and set the trap in the bathroom with food and water in it.
Next, I went and picked up a friend to take her to church. Angel rode her bicycle and we met her there. I was tired during church and didn’t do a good job of paying attention. There were no young kids there today so I didn’t have to do Sunday school which I was grateful for. It felt good to just sit and rest.
After church, we had lunch with my friend at the cafe. I had a small salad. Angel rode her bicycle to a back to school event, put on by the Assembly of God church. The church set up a big “slip and slide” in the park by the library for the kids to play on. I took my friend to her house and went home. I walked up to the park and hung out with the adults while the kids played. It was good seeing people from the Assembly of God church that I hadn’t seen in a while. I enjoyed chatting with people and watching the kids play.

Later in the day, we took the feral kittens to my clients Mr. and Mrs. H. We transferred them into a big dog crate and gave them a blanket and food and water. Mrs. H, Angel and I stood looking at them, we were wondering what gender they were. I reached in and gently picked up a kitten by the scruff of the neck to see if we could tell. The kitten hung limply for a few seconds. Then it freaked out, bit and scratched me and ran off. Well that didn’t go well 😂. I made the small bite bleed a bunch, then washed it really good with soap and water. Then Mrs. H gave me some antibiotic spray to put on it.
That evening, in New Meadows. We hung out with the dogs and went for short swim at Zim’s. Then we went to bed early after reading stories. I feel asleep at 8 PM. Then I woke up at 10:30 PM. I wrote my blog and posted it. I went back to sleep at 12:45 AM.

I awoke at 5 AM. Angel and I got up. I let the dogs out and fed them. I cleaned the house and washed the sheets. I put clean sheets on the bed and told Lucky and Sid that there owners would be home in a few hours.
We went home and after feeding Angel and making my tea and smoothie, I went to my neighbors and we picked peaches together. Angel went to a friends house and I went out to Mr. and Mrs. H’s house and helped Mrs. H clean out and organize a storage room upstairs. We organized for 5.5 hours and we were both tired when we finally called it quits.
That evening, Angel read some of her book while she ate supper. I cleaned the bank and we went to bed at 9 PM.

Dear Diary,
I awoke at 5:30 AM. I wrote my blog until Angel got up at 7 AM. I made her breakfast and made myself tea. I couldn’t make a smoothie because I was out of juice. Well actually, I could make a smoothie but I didn’t want a smoothie without juice. I got started juicing. I made 3 gallons of juice total while Angel sat in the kitchen with me and read some of her Babysitters Club book. I made 1/2 gallon of watermelon juice and 2.5 gallons of blackberry, apple, peach, zucchini, orange and plum juice. Yummy yum yum!!

I cleaned up the kitchen and looked at the clock. It was 10 AM! How did that happen? I was supposed to go pick fruit from a clients house between 8AM and 9AM.
I got ready to go and packed up my smoothie. After harvesting fruit from my clients, we planned on hiking to Council Mountain Hot Springs. We harvested a whole bunch of fruit, plums, pears, peaches and grapes.

I drove to the trailhead for the hot springs. It’s a 2 mile uphill hike but it’s a gradual climb. It was a beautiful hike. We came across some cattle and some ran ahead of us on the trail and a momma and baby walked behind us. I thought it was fun being in the cow parade. After a while, the cows went their own way and it was just Angel and me and Little Bit again.
When we got to the hot springs, the water from the creek was not flowing high enough to offset the hot water coming from the springs. The water was way too hot to sit in. Angel and I walked along the edge of the creek for a half mile before the water was cool enough to be at a comfortable temperature. We found a great pool of water to sit in and after soaking a while, Angel and I explored down the creek and back.
We stayed at the creek for an hour or so. We got ready to leave and decided to walked back along the creek instead of taking the trail. We found an animal trail and followed it. It was a tough trail, with a lot of steep climbs up and down. I was starting to feel worn down and told Angel that it would be easier if we found the trail and took it back. She agreed and we headed up to where the trail was. It took a long time to get to the trail and I was dragging by then. The mile and half walk back to the truck was intense. My legs felt like lead and my backpack felt really heavy. I stopped frequently to look up at the surrounding mountains and see if I could spot any wildlife. I didn’t see any but I’m sure there were a few animals watching us. I had brought along my hunting knife that I’ve had since I was 19 years old, in case we needed it for protection. I figured I wouldn’t need to use it though and I didn’t. https://youtu.be/Bhr564-quUc?si=C2FY7fu-CrwfZ6jX

I was so glad when we made it back to the truck. I walked to the creek to see if the water was still warm near the road but it was cold. I sat in the truck resting for a few minutes. Then I drove to my friend TJ’s. I harvested some fruit and hand watered the potted plants. I gave the chickens fresh food and water and sprayed the oven with oven cleaner after warming it up. TJ had asked me to clean the oven and unfortunately/fortunately it wasn’t a self cleaning oven. I will let the oven cleaner sit for a couple of days and then clean it.
I stopped at my older sisters to get a package and I gave her the blackberries I had just harvested at TJ’s. The package was Angels school curriculum book for this school year. Yay!! She picked it out herself and was also excited about it. More Yay!!
At home, we looked at Angels school book. She told me that she wants to do 4th and 5th grade this year so she can be in 6th grade next year. Then she wants to go to public school to be with her friend. I loved that she was motivated to do school and she gets the choice to go to public school or not.
I read a book to Angel and talked to my sister and then Mrs. H on the phone. Then Angel and I clipped our toenails and fingernails. We had fun doing it together. Angel is at such a fun age and her sense of humor cracks me up. We went to bed and fell asleep at 10 pm.

Dear Diary,
I awoke at 1:30 AM. I wrote my blog and watched “got talent” videos. Angel woke up and came into the room. I had her lay down in the hammock and we went back to sleep at 4 AM. I woke up at 7 AM and it was raining out. Yay! It’s been awhile since we’ve seen some rain. I laid in bed resting and writing my blog. At 8 AM, Angel woke up and rest time was over. I made breakfast and tea and a smoothie. Then I went to TJ’s to check on the chickens and plants and started washing laundry. The plants were very happy about the rain.
The rest of the day was spent doing cleaning/organizing opportunities. I did make a quick trip to the thrift store in between clients. My last client was Mr. and Mrs. H and after helping organize the up stairs, I drove Mrs. H to Indian Valley and back so she could drop off some paperwork.
Before going home, I stopped at another clients house and harvested more fruit. We picked a bunch of plums and I started picking pears but the wasps chased me away and I barely got stung on the arm. Then we tried to harvest grapes but the wasps were really aggressive over there. I told my client that I would come back early Friday morning to harvest more when the wasps are moving slow.
The evening was spent, cleaning the bank and hanging out at home with Angel. We read stories at bedtime and went to sleep at 10 PM.
Thank you for reading my blog and being a part of my life. I appreciate you.
Love, Victoria
