  • Thank you for this day.
  • Thank you for weeds to pull.
  • Thank you for rest.
  • Thank you for family.
  • Thank you for understanding.
  • Thank you for love.

I love you!

Dear diary,

I woke at 7:15 AM. I had slept deeply throughout the night. I wrote some of my blog and started Angel‘s breakfast cooking. Angel woke up and ate while I made myself tea. I left and drove to my friend’s house that I take care of while she works out of town during the week. I started laundry washing and watered the yard. Then, I spent a couple hours pulling weeds. Aaron called and we talked on the phone while I worked. It was his birthday and I hadn’t remembered yet until he mentioned something about getting birthday messages. I told him happy birthday and we had a great conversation about right and wrong and intentions.

After weeding, I cleaned my friends house and switched laundry. When I finished, I talked on the phone with another friend who’s daughter is friends with Angel. Angel was going over to their house to play after jiujitsu. I found Angel and my friends son walking to his house from jiujitsu together. I told Angel that she could stay at her friends house and play while I cleaned a house in New Meadows and I would get her after I got back from cleaning.

I stopped at the thrift store and found a soap making kit. Then, I walked to my older sister’s to feed her brown labrador retriever named Huckleberry and let him run around the yard for a while. Huckleberry ate and ran around the yard with Little Bit . Then I gave him a big hug and put him in the house.

The drive to New Meadows was pleasant. It felt strange not having Angel with me. I listened to an audiobook called The Prophet and enjoyed the beautiful scenery. I cleaned the house and Little Bit played with their dog Lucky. I listened to my audiobook while I cleaned. The house looked great when I finished and I drove back to Council.

I messaged my friend that had Angel and let her know that I was back in town. She responded that Angel was fine staying there longer. I went home and relaxed on the daybed. Before I knew it, I was sound asleep. I woke up an hour later when someone was knocking on my door. I answered and it was my downstairs neighbor giving me the password for her internet. I thanked her and laid back down and slept for another hour.

When I woke up, I went to an upcoming pet sitting opportunity so that I could be shown how to care for the animals and plants. The pet owners showed me around and I met their dog Izzy, their cats and their chickens. We visited for a while, then I went home and arrived just in time to meet Angel there.

We went over to Aaron’s and wished him a happy birthday in person. We hung out at his place for a while. Angel played with the neighbor kids and Aaron talked about what he calls “cheat codes”. Gratitude, acceptance and a few others that aren’t coming to mind right now.

After leaving Aaron’s, I got my clean laundry from my friends house and put it away while Angel took a shower. Then we went to bed. I wrote my blog notes and read my book for while. At 11:30 PM, I turned off the light and went to sleep.

Morning Prayer:

Good morning God,

  • Thank you for this day.
  • Thank you for rest.
  • Thank you for clarity.
  • Thank you for love.

I love you!

Dear Diary,

I awoke at 6:30 AM. I wrote my blog and posted it. Angel got up and came in while I was writing my blog. She played on her phone next to me until I finished. Then I got up and made her breakfast. I called my mom to talk to her about the church camp that we are working at together. She started negatively talking about one of my kids and my parenting fails, I told her I had to go and quickly got off the phone. I don’t know why she tends to talk bad about family but I refuse to participate in it.

I took a long hot shower and walked to M&W to refresh my gratitude sign. When I got back, Angel rode her bicycle to jiujitsu and I went with her on my bicycle. I watched for a few minutes and then rode to the Assembly of God church to clean it.

I got the church looking great and rode home. Then I went to the thrift store and found some good books to read. One is a kids adventure story written in 1955 about a boy named Tornado Jones set in the Rocky Mountains in Idaho. I thought that was a great find and I’m looking forward to reading the book to Angel.

Shortly after I got home, Angel came home from jiujitsu with a friend. They played in her room and I laid down on the daybed. I’d been feeling tired and sluggish all morning and decided a nap might revive me. I slept for a half hour and didn’t feel any more energized when I woke up.

I made the girls lunch and cooked up a bunch of food for Angel to take camping tomorrow. Then I sat in the living room and wrote the city council meeting article. I actually had fun writing the article and the stress I had been feeling previous months when writing the articles wasn’t there. I was grateful for that! Previous months I had lost sleep over writing the articles. I’m not sure what shifted in me to cause me to be at peace with the process but it was quite the relief.

Angel and her friend left to go to her friends house and I talked on the phone with a lady about the Council airport. I am going to write an article for the newspaper about the history of the airport, it’s current upcoming repaving project and its future outlook. It will be a fun article to write. As soon as I got off the phone, I went outside to meet an acquaintance that was bringing me a twin mattress. Yay! I can put it on the trundle that goes under the daybed. The trundle came with a mattress when I got it but I put that mattress on Angels bunk bed. Now I only need one more twin mattress for Angels bottom bunk.

The mattress arrived and I thanked the lady that brought it over. I carried it upstairs and put it on the trundle and it fit perfectly. Yay! I walked to the grocery store and bought food for the camping trip we were going on tomorrow through Monday. While I was there, Aaron called and we had a great conversation about my mom. I received clarity on what I/we accuse others of is often what I/we don’t want to look at in myself/ourselves.

I got home from the store and chatted with my neighbor for a few minutes. Then I walked to the bank and cleaned it. Angel and I got home at the same time. I fed her and we packed our suitcases for camping. Then we sorting through a bunch of stuff I had piled up and we put it all away. We cuddled up and I read her a couple chapters from a Nancy Drew book. I told Angel about the Tornado Jones book I found at the thrift store and said that I would be reading it next. She didn’t seem as excited about it as I was.

Angel went to bed and I wrote my blog notes and read my book. I finished the book and turned out the light at 11 PM.

Thank you for reading my blog and being a part of my life. I appreciate you.

Love, Victoria
