Morning Prayer:

Good morning God,

  • Thank you for this day.
  • Thank you for warm weather.
  • Thank you for children.
  • Thank you for anger.
  • Thank you for love.

I love you!

Dear Diary,

I awoke at 2:30 AM. I wrote my blog and Angel woke up at 4:30 AM when I was going back to sleep. I told her it was still time to sleep more and I went to sleep. I was woken up at 6:30 AM by Angel saying she was hungry. I got dressed and let the dogs out and went out to the shop to check the cats food and water. Then we went home.

I fed Angel and walked to M&W to set up my gratitude sign and I bought some groceries while I was there. When I got home, I talked to Aaron on the phone about going on an adventure today. Right after we hung up, my older sister called and wanted to go mushroom hunting. I told her that I already had plans to go with Aaron. A little while later Aaron called again and canceled going. Before getting off the phone with him, we had a great conversation about knowing ourselves and what that entails.

I texted my sister and told her that Aaron canceled and we could go mushroom hunting after all. She was excited and said she would be over to pick us up in a while. I cut up a bunch of cantaloupe and watermelon and packed it to take with us. Then I made tea and a smoothie. My sister arrived and we all hearted (headed) up the mountain.

Since it was Memorial Day weekend I figured it would be busy up in the mountains and it was definitely busier than usual but not as busy as I thought it would be. We drove to 4,500 feet and looked for a good spot to hunt mushrooms. We found a few at one spot, then we drove to another spot and found a few more.

I was feeling really sore and tired. I had been doing a lot of cleaning jobs and my legs were still hurting from climbing around the mountains with Aaron on Friday. My sister said she was tired too and we decided that we had found enough mushrooms and came home.

My sister dropped us off at our apartment and I immediately laid down on the daybed and fell asleep. I slept hard for 2 1/2 hours while Angel watched movies in her room. When I woke up, I was still really groggy. I laid there watching a movie on my phone while trying to wake up. The movie was about a boy who survived being lost in the wilderness for 10 days.

Angel came out of her room to see if I was awake and asked if we could go to the park. I said that we could and I forced myself to get up. My legs were so sore it hurt to touch them but I told them they had to get moving and so they did.

I walked to park and Angel rode her bicycle. There was a lady at the park sitting at a picnic table with her son. They were watching her 5 year old granddaughter play. I sat at the picnic table with them and chatted with the lady while Angel played with her granddaughter.

We stayed at the park for an hour or so. Then we went home and left to go to our pet sitting house. I stopped at M&W and picked up the gratitude sign. I took a picture of it, then wiped it clean to be ready to be set up again tomorrow. At our pet sitting house, Angel played with Jack and wanted me to walk down a trail with her to see where it went. My legs were done walking for the day but I told her that she could go explore if she wanted. I watched them run down the path and I took pictures. Angel followed the path until it ended, then her and Jack came running back. Jack and Angel have really bonded and it’s fun to watch them play together.

When they got back to the house, we put Jack up for the night and went to bed. I read Angel a chapter from Watchers at the Pond. Then I wrote my blog notes and put on a sleep meditation. We drifted off to sleep at 10:30 PM.

Morning Prayer:

Good morning God,

  • Thank you for this day.
  • Thank you for deep sleep.
  • Thank you for morel mushrooms.
  • Thank you for my sisters.
  • Thank you for grace.
  • Thank you for love.

Dear Diary,

I awoke at 2:30 AM. I wrote 3 days worth of blog posts and went to sleep again at 4:30 AM. Angel woke me up at 6:30 AM saying that she was hungry. I got up and let the dogs out. I played frisbee with Jack. It was really windy out and the wind would carry the frisbee really far away and Jack loved it.

We got ready to go and went home. I put up my gratitude sign in front of M&W and bought a watermelon which Angel requested for breakfast. We both ate a bunch of watermelon and I made my tea. Since it was a holiday, my older sister was off work for the day and Angel wanted to have her aunt watch her rather than go clean with me.

I cleaned and organized 3 houses and by the time I got finished I felt like I was dragging my legs around. They were still really sore from climbing around the mountain on Friday. I was surprised that my legs were not fully recovered yet because I do a lot of walking and hiking on a regular basis.

After my last cleaning opportunity, I went to a friends outside of Cambridge and got a couple of pineapple that he had bought for me down in the valley and I also harvested some fresh greens from his garden. I didn’t stay long because I was tired and wanted to get back to Council to clean the bank.

On my way home, I stopped at the Chinese restaurant in Cambridge and ordered steamed vegetables and rice. I called Aaron on the drive to touch base. When I got home, I walked over to the bank to clean it. When I went inside, it was still clean from when I cleaned it Friday. Then I remembered that the bank had been closed today because it was Memorial Day and no one had been there since my last cleaning. I locked the building back up and pulled some weeds out front instead of cleaning.

Angel had gone to play practice from my sisters and she came home when it was over. She was excited because the play was happening Thursday and Friday night. I made her dinner and talked on the phone with a local lady that was interested in buying my camper. We got to talking and she asked if I would be willing to rent it to her rather than her buying it. I liked that idea and I know she will take care of it. We made an agreement for her to rent my camper for $150 a week whenever she wants to take it up the Lost Valley reservoir. Yay!

After eating, I picked up my gratitude sign and we went out to my pet sitting opportunity. Angel ran around with Jack and we walked to the shop to check the cats food and water. Then we put Jack up for the night and went to bed. I read a chapter from Watchers at the Pond. I wrote my blog notes and put on a sleep meditation. We went to sleep at 10 PM.

Thank you for reading my blog and being a park of my life. I appreciate you.

Love, Victoria
