Morning prayer:

Good morning God,

  • Thank you for this day.
  • Thank you for sunrises.
  • Thank you for my body.
  • Thank you for adventures.
  • Thank you for love.

I love you!

Dear Diary,

Angel woke me up at 2:30 AM. She had a runny nose and needed a Kleenex. I got her one and went to sleep some more. I awoke again at 6:45 AM. I let the dogs out and woke Angel up. We got ready to go and went home. Angel just wanted fruit for breakfast (yay!) so I cut up a cantaloupe for her. She still had a runny nose and I was glad that she instinctively was eating fruit to support her body as it goes through a detoxing process. Fruit provides antioxidants, enzymes, fructose, fiber, vitamins and minerals that help the liver and kidneys purify the blood and prevent dis-ease.

I was out of juice and decided to make more right away while I had time. Angel helped and we made 1 gallon of almond milk and 1 1/2 gallons of apple/grape/orange juice. We finished right on time for me to take Little Bit to the vet to get his bandage taken off.

I walked Little Bit over to the veterinarian’s office which is half a block away. When the vet took off his bandage, he had sores where the tape had been. No wonder he had been trying to get it off. The vet removed the stitches and said that everything looked good. He put salve on the sores caused by the bandaids and Little Bit was good to go. Little Bit was glad to have his bandage off and we walked over to M&W to put up my gratitude sign before going back upstairs to the apartment.

Angel was feeling better after her fruit breakfast and wanted to have a new friend over to play. I messaged her friends mom. Her mom said that she could play and she would bring her over after she ate breakfast. I sent Angel off with some compost to take to my friend Camille’s chickens and her friend arrived before she got back.

When Angel got home, the girls played in her room. They made a fort using blankets. Then they walked to the park and I joined them. They didn’t stay at the park long and we walked back home. The girls watched a movie and I walked to the Mennonite store to get eggs to make a recipe I had thought up. If it turns out, I will submit it to the Record Reporter. Once a month I do a recipe for the local newspaper. At the store, I was delighted to see that they had fresh picked cherries and apricots from California. I bought a bunch of cherries and apricots as well as some local farm fresh eggs. On the walk home, I harvested some fresh dandelion greens.

At home, I rested on a the couch and talked to Aaron on the phone until the thrift store opened. Then I walked to the thrift store to buy a muffin tin for my recipe. I was making flourless muffins but I didn’t have a muffin tin. I looked for a muffin tin at the thrift store but they didn’t have any. While I was there, I saw one of my clients that I clean for. We chatted and I told her I was looking for a muffin tin and didn’t want to buy one from M&W because they cost $17.29. While we were talking, a lady that works at the thrift store walked by and I asked her if they happened to have any muffin tins in the back. She said she would look. A couple minutes later she came back with a man. He said they didn’t have any muffin tins in back but I was welcome to look through the throw away bin. I followed him into the back of the store and he showed me the throw away bin. We looked through it and found a muffin tin. Perfect! Yay! The man told me it was free since it had been in the throw away bin. Woohoo! I walked back through the store and showed my client that I had found a muffin tin. We both cheered.

I walked home and washed the muffin tin. Then, I put the recipe together. I sautéed the dandelion greens and some morel mushrooms in butter. Then I added them to whisked eggs along with some raw cheddar cheese and almond milk. I added seasoning and put the mixture in muffin tins to cook for 25 minutes. The muffins turned out great. They were fluffy and tasted delicious. I wrote up the recipe with a little blip about my interest in wild edibles and sent it in.

Angels friend went home and I walked over to clean the bank. Then I walked to the Assembly of God church and cleaned it. My legs were feeling really tired and sore from hiking all over the mountain with Aaron yesterday, plus I’d done a lot of walking today.

When I got home from cleaning, Angel and I went to my friends house where I have the garden beds. Angel stayed in the car watching a movie in her dvd player while I chatted with my friend. She helped me pull weeds out of the last 2 garden beds and we walked around her yard looking at the fruit trees and plants. We had a great conversation about being present with our feelings and living in gratitude.

When I left my friends house, I picked up my gratitude sign from M&W and we went to our pet sitting house. Angel played with Jack and we walked out to the shop to check the cats food and water. Then we put Jack up for the night and went to bed. I talked to Aaron on the phone and read Angel a chapter from Watchers At The Pond. Then I wrote my blog notes and put on a sleep meditation. We went to sleep at 10 PM.

Thank you for reading my blog and being a part of my life. I appreciate you.

Love, Victoria
