Sunday May 18, 2025

Morning Prayer:

Good morning God,

  • Thank you for this day.
  • Thank you for adventures.
  • Thank you for breath.
  • Thank you for sleep.
  • Thank you for love.

I love you!

Dear Diary,

I awoke at 6:30 AM and wrote 3 days of my blog and posted it. When I finished, Angel woke up and I made her breakfast. Aaron called and we made plans to go on an adventure to Lost Valley reservoir. Angel said she didn’t want to go on an adventure (whose child are you?). I told her she could ask her aunt if she could spend the day with her, otherwise she was stuck with me and would have to suffer through a day of playing in the mountains. My sister said that she could come over and Angel was saved from spending the day in nature and instead could enjoy staring at a screen playing video games for hours. Angel skedaddled on over to my sisters and I got ready to go. Aaron arrived and we were on our way up the mountain.

The rest of the day was blissful. Somehow we got lost on our way to the reservoir but that didn’t matter. We stopped several times and looked for morel mushrooms but we didn’t find any until later in the day when Aaron found one. I didn’t realize that they looked like little gnome houses. Excited about finding one, we combed the area looking for more. I was having so much fun looking for gnome houses and it was so magical in the forest that I started talking to the gnomes. I asked them to show me where their houses were. They refused and said they wanted their house back that we took. I said that it wasn’t my find to give back. In response they put a stick in my path, I tripped over it and fell on my face. I swear I could hear the gnomes laughing. I got up and wiped myself off, ignoring the gnomes, I continued looking for more of their houses.  I didn’t find any, I think the gnomes pulled them all underground before I could see them.

We moved a tree out of the road, turned around a couple of times when we came across deep snow on the road and took a few different road until we finally got on the road to Lost Valley Reservoir. By that time it was starting to get late in the day. We had been playing in the mountains for 8 hours and I felt delightfully happy from having had such a wonderful day.

When we made it to Council, I had Aaron drop me off at my sisters. Aaron gave me the morel mushroom he had found and I showed it to my sister and Angel. Then Angel and I went home. I fed Angel dinner and I cooked up the morel for myself and ate it. I meant to get a picture of the mushroom but my phone was charging and I didn’t think about it until I had cut it up.

Angel and I got in the truck and I drove us out in the country to our pet sitting house. We played with the dog Jack for a while. He’s a red heeler and is a great dog. I put Jack to bed, then Angel and I also got ready for bed. I put clean sheets on the bed we were sleeping on and read Angel a chapter of Ranger in Time. I wrote my blog notes and put on a sleep meditation. We went to sleep at 10 PM.

Thank you for reading my blog and being a part of my life. I appreciate you.

Love, Victoria
