Dear Diary,
My day started at 6 AM. I awoke fully awake and felt well rested. I wrote my blog until 7:30 AM. I hadn’t finished it yet but it was time to get ready to go to a cleaning opportunity in Cambridge. My blog would get posted tomorrow.
Angel woke up just as I was getting up. She was hungry. I made my bed and started her breakfast cooking. I was making my tea when Angel bumped her glass of lemonade sitting on the edge of the kitchen table. The glass tipped over and spilled across the table onto the cards set out to play What’s the Point. I felt anger rise up in me about the possibility of What’s the Point being ruined. I started wiping the water off of each card and lectured Angel about listening to me when I tell her to keep her glass away from the edge of the table.
While I was busy cleaning up the lemonade spill, Angels breakfast burned. Uh oh, the angry energy I was putting out was spreading and a domino effect was happening. I took a few deep breaths and instantly saw that the card game wasn’t important and it didn’t matter if it got ruined. Suddenly there was nothing to be mad about anymore.
I calmly finished making Angels breakfast. When she finished eating, we got ready to go and got in the truck. We drove to do a cleaning opportunity out in Cambridge. Angel did her schoolwork while I cleaned. I cleaned for 3 hours and did a great job.
We arrived in Council a few minutes before my next cleaning opportunity. We stopped at the Thrifty Shoppe and I found a couple of nice throw rugs and Angel found another bicycle. She rode her new/used bicycle home and I picked her up. We went to my next cleaning opportunity and Angel did more schoolwork while I cleaned.
After two hours, I finished cleaning and we went home to get ready to go on an adventure with Aaron. We were taking my truck this time and I had been nesting in the backseat. Angel helped me clean it out and I packed up some food to take with us. We went downstairs to drive to Aaron’s and I saw his truck parked out front but he wasn’t in it. Then I saw that he had texted me about going in his truck. I called him and said that I saw his truck but no one was in it. He said he was at the Thrifty Shoppe and would be right there.
Aaron arrived and he took us up to Pole creek. I hadn’t been there before and I was excited to see new territory. It was a beautiful drive up the mountain. The views were incredible. We stopped at a creek (maybe Pole creek) and wandered around. Angel and I found a log to cross over the creek. We walked along the other side looking for morel mushrooms and taking pictures of plants until we got back to where the truck was parked. I attempted to cross over the creek again on some rocks but I slipped and fell in getting my tennis shoes all wet. I was fine with having wet feet though, I had wool socks on and it was plenty warm outside.

We drove farther up the mountain and came across a tree that was down in the road. Someone had sawed through it to make space to go through but there was only enough space to fit a side-X-side. It was right where we were planning on doing anyway since the road was covered in deep snow further ahead. Aaron tied up to the log and pulled it out of the way.
Angel and I had great fun playing in the forest. We had a snowball fight and ran around exploring. We were at another creek (Johnson creek) and it was raging. Angel started to walk out on a log going over the creek and I put a stop to it. If she fell in that raging water, she would be long gone. She assured me that she wouldn’t fall and I assured her that we weren’t taking those kinds of risks. She compromised by hanging out with Aaron on the bridge going over the creek. I found a nice quiet spot in the woods and mediated for a while, listening to the sounds all around me.

Going home, Aaron drove slowly back down the mountain while I enjoyed sight seeing. I really enjoy his company. When we arrived home, Aaron dropped us off. I fed Angel, then I walked over to clean the bank. When I finished, I took a shower and we got ready for bed. I wrote my blog notes and put pictures of plants on iNaturalist. Then I started listening to a sleep meditation and fell asleep at 10:30 PM.
Thank you for reading my blog and being a part of my life. I appreciate you.
Love, Victoria
P.S. this was on Wednesday. A lot has happened since then. Stay tuned.
