Morning prayer:

Good morning God,

  • Thank you for this day.
  • Thank you for adventures.
  • Thank you for water.
  • Thank you for gifts.
  • Thank you for love.

I love you!

Dear Diary,

I awoke at 2 AM. I wrote some of my blog and went back to sleep from 4 AM to 7 AM. I finished writing my blog just as Angel woke up and came into the room. I got up and made her breakfast. I made myself tea and a smoothie and played What’s the Point with Angel until it was time for her to go to jujitsu.

Angel rode her bicycle to class and I rode my bicycle to a pet sitting opportunity. I checked on a couple of dogs and cats and gave them fresh water and food. When I got back, I walked over to my neighbors to clean for her. We talked for a while and I vacuumed her house.

I got home at the same time as Angel and we went to the thrift store. I found a nice blanket and a pillow to put on the daybed. Aaron came over so we could go on an adventure. I made some raw brownies to take with us and packed food for Angel, my smoothie and water. Then we were off on a great adventure.

Aaron took us up Mill creek road into the National forest and parked just past where the road was starting to get covered in snow. We put on our backpacks and walked back down the road a ways. We followed an animal trail down the side of the mountain to the creek. The creek was high and raging and it was beautiful down deep in the forest. I was in heaven. Forget streets of gold, I want my eternity to be in a forest with a fresh clear water creek. I told Aaron that I was going to have to strip down naked and get in that ice cold water. The creek was calling to me, begging me to immerse my body in its icy waters. Aaron said that he would walk ahead for a ways to give me some privacy.

Angel stayed with me but didn’t want to get in the water, her loss 😁. I slowly got undressed and stepped into a pool of water on the edge of the creek. The water was freezing cold and I loved the way it felt on my feet and ankles. I waded out where the water was deep enough for me to dunk my whole body. I laid down the water and immersed my entire body for a few seconds before scrambling to shore whooping and hollering. That water was cold cold cold and I felt refreshed and fully alive.

I got dressed and hiked along the edge of the creek to find Aaron. We came to a long log crossing over the creek. I looked around and saw that we had a choice to cross the creek on the log or climb back up a very steep bank on the side of the mountain. I stared at the log a long time. The creek was big and raging underneath it. Finally I decided it was better to climb up the side of the mountain and go around. Which was challenging but we had great fun doing it.

We came back down the step bank following an animal trail and found Aaron sitting along the edge the creek. His dogs Blitz and Buster were running around exploring with Bits. I asked him if he crossed over the long log and he said that he didn’t. He said that he had thought about it a long time but decided not too. I laughed and told him that I had done the same.

We hung out and explored a while, then we walked next to the creek until we found a good animal trail that led back up the mountain to the road. It was quite the climb to get up to the road. I appreciated the fact that my body is strong and I have endurance. Angel did great too, she is tough little thing and didn’t complain once. Aaron was impressed with how well she did. It would have been a tough hike for a lot of kids but living in the woods in Texas made Angel strong. She loved going to the gulley on Christophers land and spent a lot of time climbing up and down it.

Aaron drove us home really slowly. I looked out the windows and soaked everything in. The views were incredible. I am so grateful to be back in Idaho. I am grieving my life in Texas and at the same time I am filled with joy to be home. I love feeling both feelings. When we got out of the forest and closer to Council, I looked for asparagus growing along the side of the road but didn’t see any. I know it’s asparagus season and I want to find some and eat it. Foraging food is going to start coming on in Idaho. First there’s asparagus, then morel mushrooms, then cherries and some berries, then apricots and more berries. In August everyone’s gardens are producing and there is an abundance of wild edibles everywhere. The food abundance lasts until the end of October when apples, pears, elderberries and the last of the wild edibles can be harvested. I desire to live off of freshly harvested food for at least a month this summer, just for the fun of it. Food makes a huge impact on my physical and mental well being. Processed foods, chemicals, dyes and all the mono-whatevers and msg and glyphosate and the list goes on and on. All of that stuff is not food and causes anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts, insomnia, cancer, auto-immune diseases, susceptibility to infections, digestive issues, IBS, acne and more. Eating whole, unprocessed, fresh foods healed me and completely changed the way I think. A lot of people nowadays are focused on protein but protein isn’t what most people are lacking. How many people are suffering from protein deficiencies? Very little, but a lot of people suffer from heart disease caused by over-eating protein. Vitamins and minerals are what most people are lacking. Fresh produce has more vitamins and minerals per bite than any other food on the planet. Whole food unchanged by man, is a gift from God, made up of pure love. The wilder the plants the more vitamins and minerals it is going to have and I want to experience the energy of eating only wild and fresh grown plants. I know that I will feel amazing.

Aaron dropped us off at home and I went to the thrift store right away. I didn’t find anything else I wanted and when I got back home I laid down for a while. After resting, I got up and played What’s the Point with Angel. Then she decided to ride her bicycle around town. I rode my bicycle to a pet sitting opportunity. I fed the dogs and played frisbee with them until they had a good amount of exercise and were smiling.

When I got home, Angel and I rode our bicycles to Girls Club. There girls painted and decorated wooden cars they had designed and had cut out for an upcoming Pine Box Derby. I helped them paint and it was a lot of fun.

After Girls Club, Angel and I bicycled with another girl to make sure she arrived safely. At home, we got ready for bed. I read Angel a chapter from William H. McGuffey, Boy Reading Genius. Then I wrote my blog notes and put on a sleep meditation. I drifted to sleep at around 10:30 PM.

Thank you for reading my blog and being a part of my life. I appreciate you.

Love, Victoria
