- Thank you for joy in the midst of sadness.
- Thank you for a friend for Angel.
- Thank you for sunshine.
- Thank you for hot springs.
I love you!
I awoke at 5 AM. I wrote my blog and went back to sleep. Angel woke me up at 8:30 AM. I jumped out of bed and quickly fed her breakfast and made myself tea and a smoothie. Then we went to Lila’s house to let her out. Kitty was on the couch. Its the first time she had been out since I started pet sitting there. I fed Lila and stayed with her for a while. Bits finally decided to like her and they had a lot of fun playing together.

We went to my sisters and Angel stayed with her while I walked to the church and cleaned it. I enjoyed cleaning. I’m grateful to be cleaning a church again. I love cleaning churches. When I finished, I walked to the Nazarene church. They were serving free soup and salad for anyone over 50. There were a few people there that I knew and I enjoyed chatting with them while I ate salad. I hadn’t been inside the Nazarene church, I looked around and it was beautiful. I want to attend one of their Sunday services sometime. The pastor said they sing a mix of old songs and new songs during the service. One of the main things I enjoy during church service is the singing. I don’t know any of the songs they sing at the church I attend and they tend to sing different ones every week so I don’t get a chance to learn them. I really enjoy the people and the service but I miss singing hymns.
When I walked back to my sisters to get Angel, my brother was there with his wife and son and his wife’s sister and her son. They were visiting from Texas, they live about an hour away from where I lived in Texas. We all hung out and visited for an hour. Then they left to go to McCall where they were staying for the weekend.
I walked to a gift shop in town called Huptye and bought a ticket for the Chamber of Commerce banquet happening at 6 PM. I wasn’t sure if it was too late to buy a ticket but they were still available. I walked to the thrift store and found a small hand crank washing machine as well as a mini cuisinart food processor. The mini one will fit better in the camper and I’ll donate my full size one. I walked back to my sisters and asked her if she had a dress I could borrow to wear to the banquet. She took out a few for me to choose from and I picked out a nice green and black one.
Angel stayed at my sisters while I went home for a couple of hours. On the way, I stopped and let Lila out. When I got home, I decided that today I would make juice. I had been putting off making juice since I don’t have running water in the camper and I wasn’t sure how difficult the cleanup would be. I turned on inspirational music, got everything set up and started juicing. The sun was shining in the windows and I was filled with joy, listening to music and cutting up beautiful, colorful fruit. Suddenly I was hit with a strong craving to smoke marijuana to add to the joyful experience I was having. Of course I don’t have any marijuana and have no intention of getting any. I like not smoking weed and I like being sober but I was surprised to get a craving that strong after not smoking for over a year. In the past I often would use marijuana to boost my happy experiences to make them even more fun. So when the craving hit, I reminded myself that the joy I was feeling was the perfect amount and the craving faded away.
I continued on joyfully juicing and made a gallon of pineapple, apple, carrot and celery juice. The clean up was way easier than I had anticipated it being. I put hot water from the teapot in the sink and washed everything. There were pieces of pulp all over the washed dishes. I rinsed everything off in clean water. The clean water ended up getting a bunch of pulp in it from the washed dishes. I used a dish towel to wipe off any remaining pulp pieces and all the pieces of the juicer came out sparkling clean. I set them in my new mini dish rack that had arrived in the mail today and the kitchen looked nice and clean. I felt very accomplished.

I went back to my sisters and got dressed for the banquet. I drove to the rec center and found a place to park. There was quite a turn out and the place was packed full. I found a table with a lady I know and sat next to her. We talked some and I went to bid on some things for the silent auction. Then the lady I was sitting next to moved to a different table that her employer had reserved. I thought about finding another table with someone I knew but changed my mind and decided to get to know the people at the table I was at. There were 2 ladies sitting across the table from me and I introduced myself. I asked them questions about themselves and one of the ladies mentioned that she owned an apartment building in town and an apartment is coming up for rent at the end of March. Oh really!?!? I asked her about the apartment and she said that it was a one bedroom for $700 a month including all utilities. I asked about pets and she said that a small dog is allowed as long as it’s not a barker. I told her that I might be interested in it.
I wasn’t sure if the apartment in the forest that was offered to me a couple months ago was still happening. I know the guy, whose land the apartment is on, needs to fixed a water leak first and move out stuff he has stored in there but before he can do that he is getting knee surgery done. He said the apartment should be ready sometime around May but I haven’t talked to him about it for a while because I didn’t want to bother him. I know he’s been in a lot of pain with his knee. If he is still willing to rent to me then I would prefer to live there. The rent is less but more than that, it’s on land in the forest and I can have chickens and a garden. There is the option to temporarily move into the apartment in town until the other apartment is ready or I can just stay in the camper until it’s ready. I’m actually really enjoying being in camper. I made it up really cute and it’s comfortable and cozy. The lady with the apartment in town told me that she might be able to show it to me tomorrow if the current tenant is ok with that, otherwise she will show it to me in a couple of weeks. She told me to look at it before I decide. I sent out a prayer asking for guidance.
Later on during the banquet, another lady came and sat at our table. She is new to town as well and we hit it off. She likes to go on adventures and we might do some adventuring together this summer. At the end of the banquet, I won some things at the silent auction. One of them was a 90 minute massage. Yay!
Back at my sisters, I changed out of her dress and got Angel. We fed Lila and let her out. At home, Angel read to me Boats for Papa and I read a few chapters of a Magic Treehouse book. At 10 PM, I put on a sleep meditation and we went to sleep.
Thank you for reading my blog and being a part of my life. I appreciate you
Love, Victoria
