Tuesday February 11, 2025

Dear Diary,

Good morning God,

  • Thank you for this day.
  • Thank you for warm heaters.
  • Thank you for sunshine.
  • Thank you for music.
  • Thank you for joy.

I love you!

I awoke at 6 AM. I finished writing my blog and posted it. Angel woke up and cuddled with me. She was hungry and I got up to make her breakfast. She wanted waffles this morning and I was happy about that. She was switching things up. I listened to positive scriptures while I ground up wheat berries in the Vitamix and made the waffle mix. I warmed up the waffle maker and Angel ate 2 waffles. I made myself a smoothie with six bananas, two large handfuls of mixed greens, cacao powder and fresh made fruit juice.

Angel wanted to play a couple of boardgames so we played a new game called What’s The Point then we played Sorry. Before we played Sorry, I started a load of laundry in Mr. and Mrs. C’s laundry room. After our game I went to switch the laundry and there was water all over the laundry room floor. I saw some old towels on the shelf above the washing machine and I laid them out to soak up the water. Mr. C came in just as I was finishing with the towels. He said that his wife had told him about the leak. We searched for the source and concluded that it was caused by a frozen drain pipe. It looked like the drain pipe had cleared out. I ran a drain and spin cycle to make sure, then I started our clothes washing again.

I dropped Angel off at jujitsu and went to Women’s Bible study at the Assembly of God Church. We didn’t have our official Bible study, instead we shared our prayers and praises. It was good spending quality time with other women.

I picked up Angel just as she finished her jujitsu class. We stopped at my older sisters and I loaded more of our stuff in the truck. I don’t have that much stuff left at my sisters. I will definitely be able to get in all in the camper. Next we stopped at the thrift store and I got nice flannel shirts for myself and Angel.

We went to a cleaning opportunity and Angel did her schoolwork while I cleaned. When I finished we went home. I put my clothes in the dryer and Angel helped me bring the boxes from the truck into the camper. I unloaded the boxes and put everything away. Then I played board games with Angel for a couple of hours. We played What’s The Point, Battleship and Sorry. Angel cried during Battleshipbecause she couldn’t find my ships. I gave her suggestions for different strategies but she wanted non of my advice.

When we finished playing the board games. I rested on the couch and Angel painted a tin container to give to her sister at the airport tomorrow. I called my adult daughter and confirmed plans. Then I called my friend Brett and we talked briefly about what’s going on in our lives.

At 6:15 PM, we left again. I dropped Angel off at Girls Club and went to a City Council meeting. The meeting lasted about an hour. I recorded it and took notes so I can write about it for the Record Reporter. I love writing for the newspaper when I am covering stories but writing about the city council meetings stresses me out. I don’t want to get any of the facts wrong and it takes me hours to write the article.

After the meeting, I talked to a few people to get more information and get the correct spelling of names. Then I drove to Girls Club to get Angel. The girls were just finishing up a game and I enjoyed watching them.

When we got home, I was feeling really tired. I put away our clean clothes and Angel read a story. Then we cuddled up in bed and I read a few chapters of How to Eat Fried Worms. Angel got in her bed and I put on a sleep meditation. I wrote my blog and went to sleep at around 9:30 PM.

Thank you for reading my blog and being a part of my life. I appreciate you.

Love, Victoria
