Yesterday: Cleaning, Pet Sitting and Zim’s

Thursday January 23, 2025

Dear Diary,

Good morning God,

  • Thank you for this day.
  • Thank you for campers.
  • Thank you for pet sitting and cleaning opportunities.
  • Thank you for love.
  • Thank you for joy.

I love you!

I awoke at 4 AM and played wordle and connections and wrote my blog. At 6:30 AM, I put on morning affirmations and started to drift off to sleep. Angel woke up at 6:45 AM and was ready to start the day. I reluctantly got up. We started packing clothes and food to do an 11 day overnight Pet Sitting opportunity. We had just started getting settled into living in the camper and now we have back to back overnight Pet Sitting opportunities through mid March and depending on my younger sisters work situation, we might be house sitting for her through July or August. Of course, I’ll still be available to do overnight Pet Sitting opportunities while I’m house sitting and I’m always available to do drop in Pet Sitting opportunities. I had also been thinking about visiting Texas for a couple of weeks at the end of March but we will see if that opportunity opens up.

We loaded all of our stuff into the truck and drove to my older sister’s house. I made Angel breakfast and packed her a lunch. I made tea for myself and ate a grapefruit. Grapefruits are so amazing. Angel and I cleaned up her room upstairs. We had left it in sort of a mess when we moved most of her stuff into the camper. It looked really nice after getting it cleaned up.

I took Angel to Jujitsu, we left a few minutes early, so I could stop by and get paid for a farm sitting opportunity I had done a few days ago. My clients left the money for me in a secret spot outside and it had a note attached thanking me for doing such a wonderful job taking care of their animals. Yay! I dropped Angel off at Jujitsu and drove a few blocks away to do a cleaning opportunity.

My client and I chatted a few minutes and then I got started vacuuming. This cleaning opportunity only involves vacuuming the house and it takes me an hour. I scheduled it while Angel is at Jujitsu because they both take an hour. Angel knows that if I run late on picking her up, she is to walk next-door to the library. When I finished vacuuming, my client and I talked for a few minutes.  She is a really neat lady and I felt blessed to have such wonderful clients.

Angel was at the library when I arrived to pick her up. I chatted with the Librarian about the library possibly hosting a social event once a month where local businesses or group can promote themselves. The library in Rockdale, Texas had what they called “first Friday coffee“. A local business or group would provide drinks and snacks and people in town would come to socialize for a couple of hours. I loved going to first Friday coffee and I was thinking that might be something the community of Council might enjoy having. The Council library isn’t open on Friday, but they could have a “1st Saturday coffee” or something like that. The Librarian liked the idea and we talked about me coming to a board meeting to present the idea.

We drove up to McCall after leaving the library. I had a cleaning opportunity up there. On our way we stopped in New Meadows to talk with my clients, Mr. and Mrs. K, about the Pet Sitting opportunity I am doing for them that starts today. They wanted me to come by before they left so they could show me what to do if the water pipes freeze while they are gone. Their dog Lucky and Bits were happy to see each other and ran around playing. Mrs. K showed me what to do if the pipes freeze, which shouldn’t happen as long as I kept the cold water dripping in the bathroom bathtub and sink. We talked for a while and I wished them a great time on their vacation. I told Lucky, we would be back later to take care of her and finished driving to McCall.

When we got to McCall, Angel did her schoolwork while I cleaned. I listened to an audiobook called The Housemaids Secret and enjoyed cleaning. Cleaning is very therapeutic for me. I love creating beauty in peoples lives. When Angel finished her school, she did a puzzle that my client had set out for her. I really do have wonderful clients and I am very grateful for that.

After cleaning, I got groceries at Natural Grocer. They were out of bananas though, so I also went to Albertsons and was blessed with finding “overripe” discounted bananas there. Then I drove back to New Meadows. My friend Brett met us there and we all went to Zim’s Hot Springs.  We swam for an hour or so, and then went to my Pet Sitting opportunity. It’s great when I pet sit in New Meadows because it’s only 10 minutes from Zim’s Hot Springs.

Brett helped me unload my truck and bring all of our stuff inside. I had brought a lot of stuff since we will be here for 11 days.  Angel watched kid shows on TV while Brett and I played scrabble. I made rice and vegetables in the Instant pot. The dogs ran around playing together and went in and out of the back door. After finishing scrabble, I had Angel turn the TV off and pick out a board game for us to all play together. She chose Squeezed Out. It’s a fun quick game and she won.

It was getting late, so Brett went home and Angel and I went straight to bed after brushing our teeth. We fell asleep right away at 10 PM.

Thank you for reading my blog and being a part of my life. I appreciate you.

Love, Victoria
