Monday and Tuesday: A Miracle, Opportunities, Library and Walks

Monday January 13, 2025

Dear Diary,

Good morning God,

  • Thank you for this day.
  • Thank you for mornings.
  • Thank you for cleaning and organizing and pet sitting opportunities.
  • Thank you for sunshine.
  • Thank you for sadness.
  • Thank you for joy.

I love you!

I awoke at 4 am. I posted my blog that I had written last night and played wordle and connections. At 5:45 am, I got up and woke up Angel. I made her a quesadilla for breakfast and a bean and cheese burrito for lunch. For myself I made tea and a smoothie.

At 6:30 am we left and went to Cambridge. I did a cleaning opportunity and Angel did her schoolwork. I did a great job cleaning and stayed a half hour longer than scheduled. When I finished, we went home and Angel played with her legos while I took a short half hour nap.

I woke up just in time to leave to go to an organizing opportunity about 15 minutes outside of town. The man who hired me (let’s call him Mr. L) met me at the highway and I followed him the rest of the way to his house. Mr. L’s house is tucked away in a clearing in the forest. We went inside and he told me about what he needed organized. For starters, he wanted pictures hung around the house to make it look and feel more homey. His wife passed away a few years ago and she had just started decorating the house before she began to get health issues. Mr. L had no idea how to make it look nice decorating it himself and so he hired me to help him.

Before we got started hanging pictures he said he had read my blog and asked me how big of a place I was looking for to live in. I said, “not big, I’m used to small spaces”. He said he wanted to show me something and took Angel and I down to his shop in his side-x-side. Inside his shop he had a one bedroom apartment that he had stuff stored in. He showed us around and it was awesome. It had a wood stove, a big living room and kitchen and bedroom, a bathroom with a claw foot bathtub and a laundry room with a washer and dryer. He asked if I would be interested in living there. I said that I most certainly was and asked how much rent would be. He said he was thinking around $400 or $500 a month including utilities unless electric went over a $100 a month, then I would pay the difference. Holy moly! That is an incredible price. I said yes! He said that first he had to clear everything out of it and fix a water leak. I asked when it would be ready to rent and he said probably in May. I said I definitely wanted to rent it when it was ready. I told him I wasn’t sure if I should buy a camper now. He said to buy the camper so I would have something to live in until the apartment was ready. Then I could park my camper there and re-sell it or keep it to use. Perfect!! I was elated to have the opportunity to live in such a beautiful place, in the mountains, in a forest, near a river. I never imagined something this amazing was about to come my way. I was thrilled and inside I was squealing with excitement.

On the ride back up to his house, I noticed a chicken coop. I asked if he had chickens and he said he did and told me I could get some of my own to add to the flock. Wow!!I could have chickens again!! Happy dance! I asked if I could put in a garden and he said that he has a greenhouse that he doesn’t use and I am welcome to use it and I can put in a garden too. Yes!! Things were getting more and more amazing!! I felt like jumping up and down with excitement. This is way more perfect than I ever imagined. It was a miracle.

Back at the house, Angel played on her phone and Mr. L helped me hang pictures on the walls. I decided where to put them and he put the nails in. He happily went along with wherever I thought the pictures would look best. We chatted while we worked and we had fun conversations. He is a really neat person. We finished hanging pictures and the walls looked great. We scheduled for me to come back and clean next week and I thanked him for his offer to let me rent the apartment. I was such an amazing opportunity for a nice place to live. I still couldn’t believe it was happening. It truly was a miracle. Thank you God, thank you Mr. L.

When Angel and I left, I drove to talk to a lady about farm sitting for her. She showed me the animals and I really liked her. She was one of the most easy going people I’ve ever met. We chatted for a while and she hired me to clean for her as well as farm sit for her. She also might hire me to help with her adult mentally disabled daughter who was really sweet. Her daughter kept giving me kisses on the cheek.

It was close to 5 pm when we got home. Angel played with her toys and I ate a big salad in my room while sitting in the sun. My sister came home and Angel played Minecraft. I walked to the bank and cleaned it. When I got home, I called a couple of friends and my mom, telling them about the miracle that happened with the apartment I’m going to be moving into. I got Angel off of Minecraft and we got ready for bed. Angel read Boats for Papa to me while I wore my blog notes. Then I put on a sleep meditation and we went to sleep at 9pm.

Dear Diary,

Good morning God,

  • Thank you for this day.
  • Thank you for miracles.
  • Thank you for friends.
  • Thank you for opportunities.
  • Thank you for health.
  • Thank you for prayer.

I love you!

I awoke at 4 am. I played wordle and connections and wrote my blog. I posted my blog and went back to sleep. I slept deeply from 6:30 am to 8:30 am. When I woke, Angel wasn’t in bed next to me. I called for her and she came up from downstairs. I asked her what she was doing and she said that she was played Minecraft. I reminded her that she wasn’t supposed to play video games until she did her schoolwork. (I don’t like her playing video games at all but my sister got her started on them. I especially don’t want her playing video games first thing in the morning.) She asked if she could finish building what she had started on. I told her that she needed to turn it off and could finish building later.

She turned it off and played with her toys while I messaged people. I was planning on going to get my camper today but the money I had transferred from Edward Jones to my bank was still pending and I wouldn’t be able to get it out in cash. The people I was buying the camper from wanted cash. I messaged them and they said we could do it tomorrow. I then had to figure out how to get the camper from Nampa to Council. The people I was buying it from said they would deliver it for a fee but I could tell they didn’t really want to do it. I was nervous about asking anyone else to help me. I didn’t want to impose on anyone and I don’t know that many people in Council yet. The other day, I had asked Mr. C, whose land I am moving the camper on, but his truck is in the shop. I hesitantly sent a message to Mr. L, the man that I am going to rent the apartment from and asked if I could pay him to help me bring the camper up here. He said that he would. Yay! I felt very grateful.

I made Angel a quesadilla for breakfast and made tea and a smoothie for myself. My smoothie had 9 bananas, cherry juice, cacao, turmeric and homemade fruit juice. I sent Angel off to walk to jujitsu and I finished getting things ready. On my walk to the recreation center I called my friend Rachele in Texas and told her about being offered the one bedroom apartment to rent and we had a good talk. It has been a while since we’ve talked and it was good to hear her voice. When I got off the phone, I saw a lady from church at the recreation center and I talked to her a few minutes until Angel’s class was over.

Angel wanted to stay at the recreation center and play with some kids while the adults did their jujitsu class. We didn’t have any plans so I agreed to stay. I sat on the bleachers and wrote some of my blog while Angel played. When she got tired of playing, we walked to the library. Angel read 9 challenging children’s books out-loud for her school work while I finished a puzzle and chatted with people. After reading her books, Angel did a big 30 piece floor puzzle and played with the toys. I started a new 750 piece puzzle and worked on it until Angel was ready to go. I got quite a bit done in an hour or so.

We got home at around 3:30 pm. I took a bath and Angel got in after I got out. Then I took a half hour nap which felt great. When I woke up, I wrote my blog some more. My sister arrived home from work and Angel got on Minecraft. Angel has to wait for my sister to get home in order to play Minecraft because it uses my sisters Nintendo system.

I talked to my sister for a while, then I walked to city hall to attend a city council meeting. I am covering the meeting for the local newspaper. It was a great walk in the dark. I love the feel of the cold crisp winter air. The meeting lasted an hour and I recorded it so I wouldn’t miss anything. I chatted with a few people when it was over. I love people! Then I walked home. I whistled happily on the walk, it was such a beautiful night. At home, I got Angel off of Minecraft and we went to bed. She read a dinosaur book out-loud while I jotted down blog notes. Then I put on a sleep meditation and we went to sleep at around 9:30 pm.

Thank you for reading my blog and being a part of my life. I appreciate you.

Love, Victoria
