Friday and Saturday: Poop Scooping, RV Shopping and Splitting Wood

Friday January 10, 2025

Dear Diary,

Good morning God,

  • Thank you for this day.
  • Thank you for wonderful clients.
  • Thank you for new opportunities.
  • Thank you for joy.
  • Thank you for smart phones.

I love you!

I awoke at 2:30 am. I played wordle and connections and wrote my blog. I am way behind on days but I was happy to get Monday written. At 5 am I finished writing and slept again until 7 am. I got up and went downstairs. I made tea and woke Angel up. She ate a quesadilla for breakfast while I made a smoothie. My smoothie had 7 bananas, cacao, homemade made fruit juice and filtered water.

Angel finished eating and did her schoolwork upstairs. I walked half a block away to do a poop scooping opportunity. It was a bigger job than I thought it would be. A lot of the poop was frozen and I had to break it loose with a chopper before I could scoop it up. It was a great work out and even though it was 20 degrees out, I was sweating so much that I had to take off my coat. The yard was a half acre in size and I filled up 6 kitchen size garage bags full of poop. It took me over 2 hours and the lady paid me extra. She told me that she might have me start coming once a week and that would be great. I had a lot of fun doing it, even if it was poop scooping. I like being outside and the pay was great.

When I got back home, Angel and I left right away to do a cleaning opportunity in New Meadows. We listened to Lassie Come Home on the drive. My clients were there when we arrived. They are Lucky’s owners (the dogs I did overnight pet sitting for last week). They had paid me to clean their house when I had been pet sitting Lucky and when they got home, their house was so clean that they hired me to come clean for them once a week. Yay! I enjoyed talking with them while I cleaned. Angel did her schoolwork and Bits played with Lucky. I did a really good job cleaning for them and they also paid me extra.

When I finished cleaning, I drove to McCall to my friend Brett’s. We ate bean tacos that he had ready and he rode with us to look at an RV in Cascade. I like Cascade, it’s a cute town and it has a movie theater. I was on the board for the movie theater in Rockdale, Texas and I have a fondness for old movie theaters.

We looked at the RV but didn’t like it. On our way back to McCall it started snowing. I dropped Brett off and we drove home. It snowed the whole way home and it was slow going through the canyon. My sister was home when we arrived. Angel stayed home and played Minecraft while I walked over to the bank and cleaned it. While I was cleaning I received a text from the guy who owned the 5th wheel that I had looked at yesterday. He offered the 5th wheel for a lower price. I called him up and talked to him about my concerns with buying the 5th wheel. He answered my questions but was very defensive. I wasn’t attacking him in any way, I was simply asking questions about the title and how we would get the 5th wheel out of where it was located. His unwarranted defensiveness was another red flag but I decided to buy it anyway. We agreed to meet up in McCall tomorrow at 11 am. When I got off the phone, I called my friend Brett and told him I was buying the 5th wheel. He wanted to go with me when I bought it and I told him I would pick him up on the way.

I finished cleaning the bank and walked home. My adult daughter (that’s still in Texas) called me as soon as I got home and we talked for a while. When I hung up, I had Angel turn off her game and we brushed our teeth and went to bed. Angel read Froggy Eats Out to me while I jotted down my blog notes. At 8:45 pm, we turned out the light and went to sleep listening to a sleep meditation.

Dear Diary,

Good morning God,

  • Thank you for this day.
  • Thank you for rv’s.
  • Thank you for wood splitting opportunities.
  • Thank you for healthy food.
  • Thank you for dogs.

I love you!

At 10:30 pm, I woke up. For some reason I was wide awake. I watched Americas Got Talent videos on YouTube for a while. At midnight, I played wordle and connections. I wrote my blog and posted it and finally drifted back to sleep at 3 am.

At 7 am, Angel woke me up wanting breakfast. I made her waffles for breakfast and made myself a smoothie and tea. We left and I met up with my younger sister at Dollar General to get her dogs from her so I could take care of them for the day. I put her dogs in the truck and Bits was happy to see his friends. Then I went up the hill to help Mr. C split wood.

Angel sat in the house with the dogs doing her schoolwork while I worked. Today Mr. C taught me how to use the splitter. So we switched places, I split the wood and he sorted it and threw it in the trailer. He is getting shoulder surgery next month and is putting me in charge of splitting the wood all on my own and filling the orders. He will have all the rounds cut and ready for me and I will do the rest. I will put the rounds on the tractor scoop, drive the tractor to the splitter and drop off the rounds. Then I’ll split the rounds, sort the split wood, take out the pieces that have dry rot and throw the good pieces in the trailer. When I get a cord worth of wood, I’ll drive it wherever it needs to go and drop it off. I told him to teach me to use the chain saw too so I can cut the rounds myself but he said the chain saw is too heavy for me. He’s probably right, it is really heavy.

We split a cord of wood and it took about 2 hours. Then I loaded up Angel and the dogs in the truck. I messaged the guy with the 5th wheel saying that I was on my way and I drove to McCall. As soon as I got to town, I received a text from the 5th wheel guy saying that the 5th wheel is sold. I called him up and asked what was going on. He said, “sorry, it’s sold to someone else”. I hung up and started laughing. I had prayed that morning, if I wasn’t meant to buy the 5th wheel to make it not happen. Ask and it is given! I called my friend Brett and suggested we go down to Ontario to look at RV’s at a used RV sales lot. He was all for that and I drove to his house.

Brett had a vegetable soup ready that he had made and I ate a little bit of it. Then he followed me in his car to Council. He parked it at Dollar General and rode with us in my truck down to Ontario. We found out when we got there that the RV store was closed. I messaged a few people who had rv’s for sale in the area and one lady responded who had a camper in Middleton. We met up with her and looked at the camper. It was older and only 24 feet long but it was in perfect condition and super cute. I really liked it. There were all kinds of unique little cubbies in it and it had bunk beds. The lady selling it was great. I did not get one red flag from her. She was thorough and honest. I told her I really wanted it but I wasn’t sure because it was so small. She suggested that I sleep on it before making a decision. I asked her if she would give me first choice if she had anyone else interested in it and she said absolutely.

After looking at the camper, I was done looking, even though we had only looked at the one. I was tired and wanted to head back up the mountain. Brett talked me into going to Camp World in Caldwell to look at some more. We went to camp world and they mostly had new campers. We looked at a few of the small campers that were priced under $15,000 but I wasn’t impressed with them. I thought the older camper we had looked at earlier was built way better and made better use of the space. The RV dealer sent us out to an RV show in Nampa to look at a used camper they had out there. I didn’t want to go. I was tired and done and the camper was too expensive and I knew I wouldn’t like it anyway. I really really wanted to go home but Brett really wanted to go. I don’t know why because he wasn’t the one buying the camper and he wasn’t the one paying the the gas to drive all over but I consented and drove there. It was dark by then and we looked at the camper. It wasn’t that great as I had suspected and we headed home.

I was really tired on the drive home and I was frustrated for allowing myself to be talked into doing things I didn’t want to do.  When we drove through Cambridge, I dropped my younger sisters dogs off at her place. She invited us in to visit but I told her I was too tired and we could hang out another time. When we arrived in Council, I dropped Brett off at his car and drove home. Angel and I brushed our teeth and went straight to bed. We fell asleep immediately at 10 pm.

Thank you for reading my blog and being a part of my life. I appreciate you.

Love, Victoria
