Thursday: Cleaning, 5th Wheel and Zim’s

Thursday January 9, 2025

Dear Diary,

Good morning God,

  • Thank you for this day.
  • Thank you for deep sleep.
  • Thank you for friends.
  • Thank you for sunshine.

I love you!

I awoke at 7 am. I played wordle and connections and wrote my blog. I was behind on my blog again and had written most of Monday before Angel woke up. When she woke, we got dressed and went downstairs. I cut up part of a watermelon and we snacked on it while I made Angel a bean and cheese taco for breakfast. I made two of them. Angel ate one for breakfast and I packed up the other for her lunch.

When it was time for jujitsu, we drove there. Angel went to her class in the recreation center and I went to the library next door to meet with a friend. My friend and I had great conversations and it was a lot of fun spending time with her. When Angels class was finished, she came to the library and we left to do a cleaning opportunity in McCall.

On the drive we listened to Lassie Comes Home. When we arrived Angel got started on her schoolwork. I received a message from the lady I had cleaned for on Tuesday. (I had written about cleaning for her two blog posts back). I called her and she was slurring as she told me that I hadn’t cleaned her house at all. Still slurring, she went on to tell me that all I had done was go to the store for her (to buy her wine) and make her bed and the bed was made all wrong. I couldn’t figure out what she was talking about because she sat on her couch smoking cigarettes and drinking wine while she watched me clean. I had folded her laundry and stayed a half hour longer than scheduled to get everything done well. I responded and said that it sounded like we weren’t a good fit. I told her that I had done a good job cleaning her house and I had asked her exactly how she wanted the bed made and she had said that whatever way I made it would be fine. I told her I didn’t feel comfortable buying alcohol for people and I can’t be cleaning in a house with someone smoking cigarettes. I wished her the best and said that I wouldn’t be able to clean for her anymore. I spoke kindly as I said all of this and in my heart I felt grateful for the opportunity she had given me to help her out and create income.

I got off the phone and continued cleaning. I felt thankful to not be cleaning for the drinking lady anymore. I could smell trouble on her when I was there cleaning on Tuesday. She had been drunk and had that look in her eye.

I finished cleaning my current house and my client and I talked for a few minutes. She is such a neat lady and is really happy with my work. Such a contrast to the other lady. I feel blessed to have an abundance of wonderful clients.

My friend Brett met us outside of McCall to look at a 5th wheel rv. It was older but seemed to be in good shape. The man showing it to said all the right things but there was something shifty about him and I kept getting little red flags. I liked the 5th wheel though and told him I wanted to buy it but I didn’t have a way to move it. He said that he had someone who could haul it to Council for $200. I was concerned about how we would get it out because it was buried in the snow on all 4 sides and it would have to be pulled up a steep driveway. He said that he would plow out the snow and put gravel on the driveway. He showed me the title, then said it wasn’t in his name but it was in his friends name and his friend could write me a bill of sale.  I said I would need a bill of sale and could pay him with a check but I needed to transfer money from my investment account first. He was fine with that and we agreed to meet the next day.

As I was leaving the rv guys driveway, my truck got stuck in the snow. Brett had a tow rope with him and the guy pulled me out with it. Brett gave me the tow rope to keep in my truck. I drove to Zim’s hot springs after stopping at the store and Brett met us there. We swam and then Brett and I played scrabble in the lounge. The 5th wheel guy sent me a message saying that his friend is writing up a bill of sale for me and he decided that he couldn’t take a check from me and would need me to pay in cash. I kept getting a bad feeling about this transaction and I decided to honor that feeling. I messaged the guy back and said I wanted to think about purchasing the 5th wheel before finalizing the purchase. He got upset and said that we had a deal. I told him I would let him know when I made a final decision.

With all the distractions going on, Brett won at scrabble by almost 100 points. I had a lot of trouble focusing on the game. When Angel and I got home, we went straight to bed and went to sleep right away at 9:30 pm.

Thank you for reading my blog and being a part of my life. I appreciate you.

Love, Victoria
