Dear Diary,

Good morning God 🍇

  • I am grateful for sunshine.
  • I am grateful for dogs.
  • I am grateful for water.
  • I am grateful for writing.
  • I am grateful for lovely weather.
  • I am grateful for family.

Thank you. I love you!

I woke up at 6 am feeling fully rested. First thing I did was finish writing my blog. Angel woke up and cuddled with me saying that she’d had a bad dream about crocodiles and snakes. I hugged her and told her that it was probably from listening to the Goosebumps story yesterday. She said she was hungry and wanted oatmeal.  I got up and started it cooking for her. While we waited for it to cook, I read my blog to her to edit it. She said that she approved.

When her oatmeal was finished, she asked me to turn on Toy Story 3 for her to finish watching while she ate. I turned it on and went outside to let out the nanny goats and the birds.

They got fresh water and I put clean water in the duck pools. The pond was calling to me, so I walked down to it and took a quick swim. The air was cool and the water was the same temperature. I felt invigorated when I got out. When I got to the house, I made tea and took a long hot shower. Angel’s movie ended and she went upstairs to watch YouTube kids on her phone. Sitting on the couch cuddled up with the dogs. I posted my blog and drank my tea.

When it was time to get ready for church. I got dressed and called Angel to come downstairs and get ready. She ate some more oatmeal and combed her hair. We left for church. On the way, we stopped at Christophers so that Angel could change into a dress. Christopher was outside feeding the goats when we arrived. Angel picked out a dress to put on and I went to look at things in the banana hut. When I went back into the house to see if Angel was ready to go, Christopher was there and I told him good morning. Angel and I went outside to leave and Christopher followed us. I told Christopher, after church I would drop off Angel to spend the day with him, then her older sister would pick her up at around 6:30 pm to have Angel overnight. He said he was going to town to the grocery store but would be back before we got out of church.

We arrived at church 20 minutes early and that gave me plenty of time to chat with people. The service started and it was about Psalms 23. The message I received from the sermon was that God is my security and is always there for me.

After church there was a meal served. We stayed and Angel played with the other kids and I talked with people. My heart ached saying goodbye to everyone, even though it’s not really goodbye, it’s “see you later”. When the dinner was over, I dropped Angel off at Christopher’s. His mom was there and I said hello to her. Then I drove up Rita and Val’s. I changed clothes and put the nanny goats in their pen and let out the billys.

I left again right away to go do an organizing opportunity. I drove there a different way than I’ve ever gone before and it was fun seeing an area of land that I hadn’t seen. Organizing with my client/friend was a lot of fun, we have great conversations. I really enjoyed organizing. It’s one of my favorite things to do. We organized in the kitchen and the living room and it looked great when it was finished. When I come back up Texas in the spring, my client/friend has more for me to do, including washing the outside of the windows, which is another one of my newly found favorite things to do.

Next, I drove to the honey store and got a gallon jug filled up. I was happy to be fully stocked up on honey before I leave. There’s a honey store an hour away from me in Idaho that sells honey by the gallon for the same price. Which is good because  Angel and I go through a lot of honey. I don’t buy processed sugar at all and anything I make that needs a sweetener is sweetened with honey.

On the drive back from the honey store, I went a different way on the back roads and got to see more country that I hadn’t seen. Driving the back roads is so much fun. This part of Texas is really beautiful and is still surprisingly green despite not having rain for a couple of months. When I got to Rockdale, I filled up on gas and bought some potting soil to re-pot a mulberry tree.

When I arrived at Rita and Val’s, I made a cantaloupe and watermelon smoothie. I drank half of it right away and it was delicious. The fruit peels, I took outside and fed them to the goats, chickens and ducks. That was quite the frenzy and was great fun. I don’t have animals to feed my food scraps to in Idaho but I’m sure I will find some.

The pond was calling my name again. I went out there to float around for an hour or so. I got on my floatie and paddled out to the middle of the pond. The sun felt great and just as I leaned back to relax, the seat of my floatie broke off on one side. Plunged into the water, I came up and examined the floatie. Maybe with a string I could get it to hold together. There was a string on Angels wave board. I pulled it off and tied it around the handles on my floatie. It looked like it might work and I tried it out. It worked sort of but I still had to kind of hold things together with my arms. It wasn’t that relaxing but I floated around for a while anyway and enjoyed watching the insects landing in the lily pads and the feel of the sun on my body.

When I came back up to the house, I mopped the floors and cleaned the glass on the front door. Satisfied that the house would be nice and clean when Rita and Val got home tomorrow evening, I sat down and ate a big salad left over from yesterday. I talked to my mom on the phone while I ate. By the time I got off the phone, it was starting to get dark and I closed up the goats and the birds. Then I watched a movie called Woman of the Hour. It was a horrible movie based on a true story about a serial killer. My heart was racing by the time it was over. I wasn’t sure how I would get to sleep as worked up as I was. I’m glad this is my last night of having a television available to watch. It’s too easy to watch overstimulating yucky shows when I have access to a tv. The temptation is real! I enjoy my evenings much more when I choose to listen to or read good books or write my blog or listen to a sleep meditation. I made myself some tea and laid in the hammock listening to 25 Rules to Becoming Mentally Unstoppable. After listening to it for a while, I started to feel tired and fell asleep at around 10:30 pm.

Thank you for reading my blog and being a part of my life. I appreciate you.

Love, Victoria
