Dear Diary,
I woke up at 7 AM. I prayed my gratitudes: Good morning God, thank you for mornings. I am grateful to have everything I need and more. I am grateful for encouragement. I am grateful for life. I am grateful for my truck. I am grateful for rain. I am grateful for people. I am grateful for joy. Thank you, I love you! I heard my sister up and about getting ready for work. I went downstairs and said good morning to her. Then I went back up to my room and started to write my blog. My friend Rita messaged me. She said that her and Val were not able to find someone that could pet sit for them full time on the days that I had canceled on them. I told her I would still do it. I wanted to get back to Idaho and help out my younger sister and be back in time to winterize my motorhome and I didn’t want to drive over the mountain passes that late in year in case there was snow but I also wanted to help my friends and follow through on my commitments.
We are leaving for Texas in the morning. I need to be back by Monday to do the Musical Club program. It usually takes me 3 days but I might push through and do it on 2 days. Two days would be 14 hours of driving a day. Ack! I had everything packed and ready to go, other than hooking up the trailer.
Angel woke up and wanted breakfast. I didn’t have waffle mix made up, so Angel settled on toast with honey. She ate and did a craft painting a gourd to start off her school day. I wrote my blog while she did that and I posted it. I posted 3 days of blog posts and was glad to be caught up. I didn’t have ripe bananas to make a smoothie so I walked to the store to see if they had any ripe bananas. They didn’t, so I settled on cantaloupe instead. Angel got raspberries.
Back at my sisters, I made a cantaloupe smoothie and Angel did multiplication flash cards. I sat down with her and helped her figure out the ones that were harder. I explained to her how to carry a number in multiplication. She got frustrated and didn’t want to do it the way I explained it. She started crying and carrying on. I had her go to her room to calm down. When she came back downstairs after she calmed down, we did more multiplication flash cards and then did reading flash cards.
I went outside and straightened up my bicycles and all the stuff I have in the garage. Then we left to go swimming at Zim’s hot springs. We started out but only went a couple of blocks when I realized that my sister would be home for lunch any minute. I turned around and went back to the her house. She was pulling into her driveway. I got out and told her about all the stuff I had straightened up. I also told her about staying in Texas longer and not coming back until the end of October. Then I went back out to the truck and drove to the hot springs.
It was a beautiful 40 minute drive in the rain. I was so glad it was raining. The air was so clean and it was really helping calm down the wildfires. The clouds hung low on the mountains and looked like white misty feathers moving across the mountain tops. I love love love driving through the mountains.
We arrived at the hot springs and got in. I made friends with Chloe at the front desk. The pool only had a few people in it and we swam for about 45 minutes when my friend Brett arrived. He had messaged me earlier about meeting us there so I had been expecting him. He had been down in Boise for a week helping a friend and had just come back up the mountain today. We stayed there until 5:30 PM. I kept switching from the big pool which was 93 degrees F to the smaller hot pool which was 104.5 degrees F. I floated on my back and fully relaxed my body. I did stretches and had conversations with a lot of different people. I thoroughly enjoyed myself.
A hour before we left, a lady with her grandson got in the pool. They had been there when we had come before. Angel and her grandson immediately started playing together. The lady swam over to me and told me that she had decided to homeschool her grandson after I mentioned that I homeschooled my daughter when we talked last week. We talked about getting the kids together for play dates at the pool. Yay!
We got out of the pool and said goodbye to Brett before hearting (heading) to my sisters. When we arrived, I ate the last piece of the healthy apple pie I had made before I had started my pet sitting opportunity in Donnelly. Angel ate raspberries and played Animal Crossing on the TV. I drove the truck around back and hooked up the trailer. Then I came back in and started laundry. I sat with my sister on her bed and wrote my blog. She was watching TV and had a shiatsu massager that she was using on her back. When she was done using it, she let me use it and it felt amazing on my shoulders.
It was starting to get late and Angel and I had an early start in the morning. I told her it was time to stop playing her video game and go to bed. She said that she was still hungry and wanted honey bread. I made some for her and after she ate, we told my sister goodnight and went upstairs to bed. Angel picked out 2 children’s stories for me to read, Andrew Henry’s Meadow and Caps For Sale. I read them to her and it was nice to read to her some of her children’s books. We usually read chapter books before bed. She wanted to sleep with me, so she cuddled up next to me while I finished writing my blog. When I finished, I read my blog post to her and put on a children’s meditation. We went to sleep at 9:30 PM.
Thank you for reading my blog and being a part of my life. I appreciate you.
Love, Victoria
