Dear Diary,
I woke up at 1:30 AM. I wrote my blog and posted it. My mind was racing and I couldn’t fall asleep again. I did breathing exercises and a full body relaxation session. I finally fell asleep at 4:45 AM. I woke again at 6:15 AM to the sound of a thunderclap and rain. I laid in bed enjoying the wonderful sound of the rain. The air smelled so fresh through the open window. I love sleeping with the windows open. I called Tracey and he was just as thrilled with the rain as I was. When Angel woke up, we snuggled up and listened the rain together.
When the rain eased up, I went in the house and greeted Christopher. I made tea but didn’t make a smoothie because I felt called to do a fast and drink only tea and water today in order to clear up my sore throat that had started last night. I know that the sore throat came on because of the grief I am experiencing. Our bodies play out what is going on inside of us emotionally and mentally. I also know that fasting keeps my emotional energy open and makes it easier to processes my emotions and heal. The Bible talks about the power of fasting a lot but most Christians rarely practice it or even talk about it. I have experienced the power of fasting and it is an incredible tool we have been given to bring clarity to our mind and bodies.
Angel wanted to go farm-sitting with me. So we got in the truck and drove there, picking up Tracey on the way. Angel played on her phone while Tracey and I took care of the animals. Then we all sat together on the couch in the outdoor living room and petted the dogs. Angel watched her “little screen” on her phone while Tracey and I watch the “big screen” called the sky. The cloud formations were beautiful from the storm that had passed through that morning and vultures were rested on the branches of a dead tree at the beginning of the forest. That’s my kind of TV show. I love watching the “big screen”.
When we left, I took Tracey home and planned on just dropping him off, but I was feeling really tired from getting so little sleep last night. I asked if we could stay so I could lay down and take a nap. Angel wanted to stay too so that we could all play board games together. Her new Life Junior game and a few of her other new games were in the truck. I laid down but I heard Angel and Tracey setting up a game in the other room. I decided to join them. We played a couple rounds of Life Junior, then we played Sorrywhich I renamed Sorry, Not Sorry. By then I really did need a nap. I laid down again and talked with Tracey. Then I went outside and got in my hammock I had left over there. I slept deeply for about an hour. When I woke up, Angel was listening to a Bobbsey Twins audiobook that Tracey had started for her and he was asleep. I laid down again and slept a little while longer.
I felt fully caught up on sleep when I woke up and I was grateful for the rest.
I hearted home with Angel and when we arrived, I greeted Christopher. He said that we had a new baby goat that had been born last night. Angel went over there with Christopher to see it. I took a quick shower and got ready for play practice. Then I went to see the baby. It was a little boy and he was so cute. I held him a few minutes and soaked up his beautiful energy. I gave him back to his worried mama and drove to play practice with Angel.
Play practice went well. We went through act 2 which we don’t know as well as act one but things are coming along nicely. I still don’t have all my lines memorized, especially for act 2, but I’m getting there. After play practice, I picked up Tracey and did my farm-sitting opportunity. After taking care of the animals, we played in the creek for a while with Bits. The creek was flowing high from all the rain and was fun to play in. We enjoyed playing fetch with Bit by throwing sticks or leaves in the creek. He would jump right in and retrieve them. Bits is so cute and fun. He’s the best dog I’ve ever had. I am grateful for him.
I dropped Tracey off and drove home. Angel and I went straight to bed. We talked on the phone with Tracey a while. Then I turned on a unicorn meditation and we fell asleep at around 11 PM.
Thank you for reading my blog and being a part of my life. I appreciate you.
Love, Victoria
