Snow, Sun and Relaxing

Dear Diary,

I woke up at 4:45 AM and wrote my blog until 8 AM. It had taken me longer than usual to write it because I’d had so many adventures on Saturday and there was a lot to recall. I’m usually two days out on writing my blog to give me a day to get it written. Angel woke up and we cuddled for a while. It had snowed in the night and was still snowing. I told Angel about the snow. Immediately she jumped up, got dressed and went outside. I took my time getting up and getting dressed. When I went outside Angel wasn’t out there. I went in the house and Angel wasn’t there either and neither was Sam. Bri had already left for work and Shawn was still sleeping. Alex was on spring break and she was downstairs in her room sleeping. I heard banging on the back sliding glass door and there were the kids wanting to come in. They had gone out to the backyard to play in the snow. They had gotten cold and wanted to warm up. The kids got warmed up and played inside. I made tea and drank some smoothie I had left over from yesterday. I fed the kids breakfast and got them started doing schoolwork while I vacuumed the upstairs living room, kitchen and bathroom. I also vacuumed the stairs going down to the basement.

Shawn got up to start work and I made him breakfast. By then it had stopped snowing and the sun was out. I went to the store to get a few groceries and to buy Sam some snow boots because he had outgrown his other pair. By the time I got back, the snow had almost completely melted. Sam was excited about his boots and kids went out to play in the last remnants of snow. I got started cleaning the master bathroom. I wanted to surprise Bri with it when she got home. I did an extra good job on it and it was sparkling clean when I finished.

I had a couple more things I wanted to do to help Shawn and Bri before I left to go to my son Scott’s tomorrow evening. I was staying the night at Scott and Delany’s Tuesday night so I would be close to the airport and could Uber there to fly out early Wednesday morning. The two things I wanted to do where: finish organizing Shawn’s t-shirt drawers and secure the fence in the backyard with t-posts. I decided I had done enough chores for today and I would do the last 2 things tomorrow before I left. I put on a movie to watch called True Spirit. It was about a teenage girl who was the youngest person to sail around the world. The kids and I enjoyed watching it together. I rarely watch TV and usually prefer not to but this was a good movie and I enjoyed it. When it was over, I put on another movie called The Water Man. I lost interest right away and did laundry and talked with Shawn rather than watch it.

Around 5 PM, I made dinner and ate a big salad. Bri got home from work and got settled in before everyone ate. She saw the clean bathroom and was happy about it. After everyone ate, I cleaned up the kitchen and put away clean laundry. I felt like I needed to get some fresh air and exercise, so I went on a walk with the kids. It was a great walk. The sun was out and even though it was 44 degrees out, the kids and I were plenty warm in a light jackets. The kids road their scooters and I walked. Bits walked with me on a leash. We went on a big loop around the neighborhood. I enjoyed looking at the houses and flowers and trees. There were daffodils and tulips coming up and some of the trees were starting to bud. The kids had a lot of fun riding their scooters and looking at things. The walk took about 45 minutes and was refreshing.

The rest of the evening, I talked with Shawn and Bri and played with the dogs. I brought in the National Park Mystery book and read 3 chapters to Angel while Sam took a bath. Then I talked with Shawn and Bri some more. At around 9 PM, Angel and I went out to the pop-up camper for bed. We fell asleep listening to an audiobook called The Outdoor Girls of Deepdale by Laura Lee Hope.

Thank you for reading my blog, and being a part of my life. I dearly appreciate you.

Love,

Victoria
