Morning prayer :

Good morning God,

  • Thank you for this day.
  • Thank you for my legs.
  • Thank you for crisp morning air.
  • Thank you for Facebook.
  • Thank you for love.

I love you!

Dear diary,

I woke up at 4:30 AM. I wrote my blog and posted it. I let out the dogs and walked out to the shop to check the cats food and water. When I got back to the house, I woke up Angel and we hearted (headed) home.

I put out my gratitude sign and Angel and I had breakfast at 7 Devils Cafe. I rarely eat out but Angel wanted to try it. She had pancakes and I had a vegetarian omelet that I immediately regretted eating it because my stomach cramped up and I felt heavy and tired. As soon as I made it home, the omelette came back up but the stomach cramps went on for a while.

I made myself tea and played What’s the Point with Angel. Then I walked down to M&W and bought some plants to put in my raised garden beds that are at my friends house. While I was at M&W, a lady I know that has trouble walking and keeping her balance asked about my little shopping cart I was putting the plants in. I told her that I got it at the thrift store but I have another one that’s bigger if she would like to have the one I was using. She was excited about getting the cart and I told her I would bring it to her later in the day.

When I got home, I walked to the thrift store and bought a couple of small bookshelves that would work great in my apartment. I asked if I could come get them tomorrow and the manager of the store said he would put my name on them and I could pick them up anytime.

When I got home, Angel and I went over to my garden beds and I planted my plants while Angel played with all the fairy garden decorations that my friend had bought her. She created a neat fairy garden and had a lot of fun. I got my plants planted and gave them some water. Then we left to go do a couple of cleaning opportunities in New Meadows.

We listened to Nancy Drew on the drive and arrived right on time. I chatted with my client for a few minutes and got started cleaning. Angel did her schoolwork while I cleaned and Little Bit played with their dog Lucky. I cleaned for 2 hours and got their house looking great. Then we went to another cleaning opportunity outside of New Meadows. I cleaned that house for 2 hours and it’s also looked great when I finished.

We drove back to Council and I dropped Angel off at play practice. Tonight was their opening night and Angel was really nervous and excited. I dropped off the shopping cart at the library where the lady I was giving it to asked me to take it. Then I cleaned my friends house.

When I got home, I made Angel something to eat for dinner and took it to her. Then I sat on a bench outside waiting for the play to start. Aaron and my older sister arrived at the same time to see the play. We went inside and found a seat and the play started. The play was great fun to watch. It was a children’s musical called What’s Up Zak. When the play was over, I stood outside chatting with Aaron for a while, then we went home.

Angel and I each took a shower, then we went out to our pet sitting house. Angel played with Jack outside briefly but the wind was blowing like crazy so she didn’t stay out long. When she came in, it was getting dark and she said she heard noises in the basement. I could tell it was freaking her out, so I went to the top of the stairs to listen. I didn’t hear anything but then I heard some faint noises. Now I was getting freaked out. I figured the sounds were from the wind but I went downstairs to investigate. I looked all around and I didn’t see anything. I came back upstairs and told Angel there was nothing down there. We got in bed and I put on a sleep meditation. It took me a while to fall asleep because I kept hearing strange noises caused by the strong wind. I finally drifted to sleep at 10:30 PM.

Morning prayer:

Good morning God,

  • Thank you for this day.
  • Thank you for pet sitting opportunities.
  • Thank you for apples.
  • Thank you for sunshine.
  • Thank you for love.

I love you!

I awoke at 2:30 AM. The wind had died down and all was quiet. I wrote my blog and posted it. Then I went back to sleep for a couple of hours. At 6:30 AM, Angel woke me up. I still felt tired and wanted to sleep more but Angel was hungry so I forced myself to get up. I let the dogs out and walked out to the shop to check the cats food and water. Then we drove to town.

Before going home, I stopped at a pet sitting opportunity and fed a couple of dogs and cats. I played frisbee with the dogs and they ran and ran, then I put the dogs in the house and continued home. I fed Angel breakfast and put out my gratitude sign in front of M&W and rested on the daybed debating about staying home today and not going out mushroom hunting with Pastor Amy and resting instead. Finally I decided that going up in the mountains would be my best choice.

I got up and made myself tea and a smoothie. Then we went over to the Pastors house and picked her up. We discussed where to go and chose to go up the east fork of the Weiser river and looping around to Mill creek road. We had a great time. We stopped at a few places and exchanged information we knew about wild edible plants. We passed the turn off for the loop and went up higher. We ended up finding one morel mushroom and seeing a lot of beautiful country that I hadn’t seen before. By the end of our adventure my legs were aching again. They had been sore for a week and were starting to feel better but I keep using them to walk and hike and they are taking a while to recover from all my morel mushroom hunting adventures.

When we got back to town. I dropped the Pastor off at her house and went home. Angel rode her bicycle to a friends house to play. I laid down and took a 2 1/2 hour nap. Angel came home and left again to go to get ready for her play. My mom called and said she was coming to see Angels play. I was surprised that she was coming because her dog has not been doing well and she wanted to keep an eye on him. We talked for a few minutes and said she was driving up to watch the play and then going right back home. I was glad she was coming to see Angel.

I talked to Aaron on the phone and cleaned my house. Then I went outside and visited with my next door neighbor until my mom arrived. My mom visited with my neighbor while I walked around the block and got a friend who also wanted to see Angels play. We walked back to my neighbors house and rode with my mom to the play.

The play was even better tonight than it had been last night. The kids did great and Angel had a lot of fun doing it. My younger sister came too and Angel was excited that so many people came to see her. When the play was over, Angel rode her bicycle home while my mom dropped me and my friend off at my place. My friend left and I made dinner for Angel. We played a few games of What’s the Point and went to our pet sitting opportunity.

When we pulled up to the house, the owners SUV was parked out front. He must have came home a few days early. There was a note on the door saying that he had gone to bed and to go ahead and sleep over in our room. I wasn’t sure about sleeping in the same house as this man because I didn’t know him very well. I prayed for guidance and instantly knew we were safe since several people I knew have known this man for years.

We went in the house and got in bed. I read Angel a chapter from Watchers at the Pond and wrote my blog notes. Then I put on a sleep meditation. We went to sleep at around 10 PM.

Dear Diary,

Good morning God,

  • Thank you for this day.
  • Thank you for giving and receiving.
  • Thank you for kindness.
  • Thank you for gardens.
  • Thank you for love.

I love you!

Dear Diary,

I awoke at 3:30 am. I wrote my blog and posted it. I tried to go back asleep but at 6 AM I heard my pet sitting client moving around the house. I got up and went out to the front room. I chatted with my client and he offered to let Angel and I live there with him for free. He said that he wasn’t up to any “funny business” but it was a big house and it would be nice to not be there alone all the time. It was a neat house with incredible views but my intuition told be a definite “no”. I didn’t know this man very well but what I did know wasn’t in alignment with the home environment I choose to live in. I told him that I appreciated his kind offer but I wasn’t going to take him up on it at this time. I said I would let him know if I things changed. He seemed disappointed but didn’t push the issue.

Angel woke up and I changed the sheets. Then I packed up our stuff and we hearted (headed) home. I made Angel breakfast and made myself tea and a smoothie. We played a few games of What’s the Point. Then we walked to my friend Camille’s with my shopping cart to get some plant starts that she was giving to me in trade for future pet sitting. On the way I set out my gratitude sign in front of M&W.

Camille was making breakfast and I sat and talked with her until she was finished. Then we went out to her greenhouse and I picked out a bunch of plants…a variety of tomatoes, tomatillos, basil and a variety of peppers. I enjoyed talking with Camille and Angel had fun playing with her daughter. The girls are the same age and had been jumping on the trampoline. When I left, Angel stayed to play longer and Camille said she would send her home after a while.

On the walk home, my friend Rachele from Texas called. We talked for a while and it was great to hear from her. She is coming up visit in September for a couple of days, yay! Angel was home by the time I got off the phone and I fed her lunch. Then we walked over to the “barter market” happening at the park in front of library. Angel brought some of her toys that she painted with paint pens to barter with and she got some great deals.

When we got home, I walked over to the bank and cleaned it. Then I went to the thrift store to look at the book shelves I had purchased the other day to see if they were light enough for me to carry to my apartment since it was only a block away. The manager of the thrift store came out back when I was looking at the shelves and he offered to drive them to my apartment in his side-x-side. I told him that Aaron would help me get them later but I thought I might be able to carry them. He insisted on hauling them for me, so I agreed and we loaded them onto his side-x-side. I rode with him over to my apartment and he helped me carry the bookshelves upstairs. I rode back to the thrift store with him and thanked him for his help.

I sent Aaron a text letting him know that I didn’t need him to help me get my bookshelves later. Then I did some shopping in the thrift store. I was about to finish up when Aaron called and said that he was in the back of the thrift store and had my bookshelves loaded into his truck. I told him that they weren’t my bookshelves and asked if he had gotten my message. He started laughing and said that he was kidding. He was going to surprise me by bringing the bookshelves to me but the thrift store manager had told him that it was already done. I told him that I was in the thrift store and he said he was coming in. We hung up and Aaron came on a few minutes late. We hugged and chatted, then Aaron went off to do some shopping. I went to pay for my stuff and the lady up front told me I could have it all for free. I wasn’t expecting that and asked if I could make a donation. The lady said that the store manager had told her to give me everything for free and no donation was necessary. I graciously thanked her and walked home with my stuff.

At home, I put the bookshelves in their spots. One went in Angels room and she was excited to have places to put all of her stuff. The other one I put in the corner of the living room and plan on using it for our farmers market supplies. I got out the rock tumbler I had bought and read about how to use it. Much to my surprise it would take almost a month to finish the rock tumbling process. I guess I wouldn’t be selling rocks at the farmers market for a while. I started some rocks tumbling and set everything up on my new bookshelf. Then I laid down and took a 2 hour nap.

When I woke up from my nap. I played a few games of What’s the Point with Angel and fed her dinner. Then I went to the Assembly of God church and cleaned it. When I finished, I went over to my friends house where my garden beds are. I talked with my friend and planted my plants while Angel played with her fairy garden. It was a lovely evening and my friend and I walked around the yard looking at everything growing. We picked and ate some strawberries that were ready and they were super sweet and yummy. I love picking and eating fresh produce.

When it started getting late, Angel and I walked home. We got ready for bed and Angel read me one of her childrens books. I read a chapter from a Nancy Drew book and wrote my blog notes. I put on a sleep meditation and went to sleep at 11 PM.

Thank you for reading my blog and being a part of my life. I appreciate you.

Love, Victoria
