Saturday and Sunday: Pet Sitting, Moving into the Apartment and Sand Dunes

Saturday March 29, 2025

Dear Diary,

Good morning God,

  • Thank you for the day.
  • Thank you for kittens.
  • Thank you for apartments.
  • Thank you for real conversations.
  • Thank you for people.
  • Thank you for Community.
  • Thank you for love.

I love you!

I awoke at 12:30 AM to the sound of the kitten meowing. Angel had the kitten in bed with her when she went to sleep and I didn’t want the kitten to have an accident. Angel named the kitten Remy after her dog that got ran over a couple years ago. I jumped out of bed and found Remy. I put her in the litter box and waited to see if she would do anything, she didn’t. I gave her food and water and brought her into bed with me. I attempted to go back to sleep but Remy wasn’t ready to go back to sleep. I got up and wrote my blog while Remy played all around me and Bits hid under the blankets. He does not like Remy at all.

I finished writing my blog and posted it. I put Remy in the litter box again and this time she used it. Yay! I am going to train her to use the toilet in the apartment but for now we have a litter box.

I slept more from 3:30AM to 7AM. Then I got up and made oatmeal for Angel and tea for myself. Today we would be moving into our apartment and I was looking forward to it. It was also my last day of going to McCall for a while. My cat sitting opportunity ends today and all my McCall and New Meadows people are caught up. They will have to manage for a month without me until highway 95 is opened up again.

On our way to McCall, I stopped at a Pet Sitting opportunity in Council and let dogs out and fed them and a cat. Then I stopped at another Pet Sitting opportunity just outside of Council. I fed their dogs and cats and gave their cat medicine and fed and watered the chickens.

On the drive to McCall we listened to Nancy Drew. We arrived at my cat sitting opportunity and I topped off their food and water. I finished up the laundry and touched up the house.

I drove to meet my friend Brett at the McCall community hub. He had fixed up an old laptop to give to Angel. On the way there Aaron called and we had a fantastic conversation about perspectives and how shifting our perspective can be completely life changing. I love conversations about things like that…real conversations.

I got off the phone and went into the  Community Hub while Angel waited in the truck. Brett showed me around the Hub. He trades doing repairs for his membership there and he showed me all the things he has fixed around the place. Then he showed me how to run the laptop. He showed me how to play a couple of the educational games he put on there for Angel. It was taking way too long and the pinging noises from the games were not pleasant. I told Brett that he didn’t need to show me the games and Angel would be able to figure them out of her own. He turned off the games and showed me some other things on how to use the computer. He was excited about showing me the games though and started showing me some more. Again I let him know that I didn’t need to see them and he turned the game off. I thanked him for putting fun educational games on the laptop for Angel and told him I needed to get going.

Next, I went to Natural Grocers to stock up on items I can only buy there since I won’t be going again until the highway opens up. I walked through the store and decided I already had everything I needed. I bought a couple things, filled up on gas and we hearted (headed) back to Council.

I checked in on my Pet Sitting dogs. Then I messaged my landlord to see what time frame I was looking at the start moving in. She said she would meet me at the apartment in a half hour. I went to the thrifty store and bought a few things for the apartment. I met my landlord and got the keys. Then I went to the camper and  loaded up stuff to move. I went to the apartment and brought everything in. The apartment is upstairs and it was a lot waking up and down the stairs. We went to the camper and loaded and unloaded 3 more times.

I ordered take out salad from the pizza place and got Angel a cheese pizza. I forgot to get a fork though and had no way to eat it. Aaron arrived to help me move and he followed me over to my older sisters to get a secretary desk I had there. Aaron and my sister talked while I used one of her forks and ate my salad. I felt refreshed after I ate and got back to moving things.

Aaron and I loaded his truck with the desk  and some other stuff. We unloaded it all at the apartment and went to the camper to get another load. We rested and talked for a while at the camper. Then we brought another truck load of stuff to the apartment. Once we brought everything upstairs we took the dogs to the park. I was done with moving for the day. I was sore and tired.

After the park, I thanked Aaron for his help and he dropped me off at my sisters where my truck was. Angel wanted to stay the night with my sister and I was fine with that. I went to the camper and got ready for bed. Then Aaron and I talked on the phone until after 10:30PM.  I got off the phone, put on a sleep meditation and fell asleep at 11PM.

Sunday March 30, 2025

Dear Diary,

Good morning God,

  • Thank you for this day.
  • Thank you for a new place to live.
  • Thank you for help moving.
  • Thank you for great conversations.
  • Thank you for stories.
  • Thank you for love.

I love you!

I awoke at 3AM, I wrote my blog and went back to sleep at 5AM. I awoke again at 7AM. I was still really tired but I needed to get up and take care of dogs and a cat. I got up and made tea. I loaded up my truck with stuff to take to the apartment. Then I drove over to take care of the animals. When I finished with that, I picked up Angel from my older sisters.

I went to the apartment and Angel helped me unload the truck. I was sore from walking up and down the stairs yesterday and I had to rest after bringing everything upstairs. I laid down on a mat in the front room and talk to Aaron on the phone for a while.

When I got off the phone, I got another load of stuff from the camper and brought it all in the apartment. I made Angel lunch and let out the dogs I am pet sitting. Then we went down to Ontario, Oregon to get supplies. On the way home, I took Angel to see the Weiser sand dunes. She thought they were really fun. She took her shoes off and ran up and down the sand dunes. I was sore from moving and didn’t do any running around. I enjoyed watching Angel instead.

When we got to Council, I went to the camper and loaded up the truck and took everything to the apartment. I started Angels dinner cooking and Aaron came over. He helped me unload the truck and after Angel ate, we got another load of stuff from my older sisters. Angel stayed there with my sister and played video games while we drove back to the apartment and unloaded everything.

Aaron went home and I went to take care of my pet sitting dogs and cat. Then I got another load of stuff from my sisters and got Angel off of the video games. We brought the last load of stuff upstairs and I took a long hot shower. It felt so wonderful to take a shower. It has been a long long time since I showered. We’ve been doing sponge baths for weeks. I scrubbed my body down and washed my hair twice. Sometimes I miss my beautiful bathtub and shower I had set up in the woods in Texas. Showering inside staring at walls isn’t the same but I get to go to the natural hot springs here in Idaho which is even better.

Angel took a long shower after I got out. I’m not sure where our hot water heater is located in the apartment building but we seemed to have an abundance of hot water. Freshly showered, we got into bed and I talked with Aaron on the phone for a while. Then I wrote my blog notes and put on an a sleep meditation. We went to sleep at around 11PM.

Thank you for reading my blog and being a part of my life. I appreciate you.

Love, Victoria
