Dear Diary,
Good morning God,
- Thank you for this day.
- Thank you for my sister.
- Thank you for YouTube.
- Thank you for rv’s.
- Thank you for variety.
I love you!
I awoke at 1 am. I had a tummy ache. I played wordle and connections and looked at rv’s for sale. At 3 pm I slept again until 5:45 am. I woke up Angel and made her oatmeal for breakfast. For myself, I made tea. I had a premade smoothie that I packed and we got ready to leave.
I drove to Cambridge in the dark and fog. There is a detour going to this cleaning opportunity and part of the drive is on a curvy dirt road. The fog was so thick that it was difficult to see the road at times and I went really slow. At least the road wasn’t covered in snow, that would have made it even harder to see.
When I arrived at my cleaning opportunity, Angel got started on her schoolwork. My client wanted me to help her clean and organize upstairs. We went up there and my organizing mind went into action. There are 2 small rooms upstairs. One room had 2 desks in it and a cot. The other room was smaller and had a twin bed, 2 upright dressers (one tall and one short) and 2 chairs. Plus there were stacks of bins in between the 2 rooms. We moved things around and I cleaned behind things as we moved them. As we got into it, I saw how switching the twin bed and the cot would make better use of the space available. A lot of things would have to be moved in order to make the change. I suggested it to my client and she thought about it. She saw how it would open up a lot of space and agreed to do it. Yay! I didn’t take before and after pictures but by the time we finished, it looked great. It had taken all my time to get the upstairs done but my client asked me to stay late and clean the floors downstairs. I agreed and even though I didn’t ask, my client paid me extra.
When we got back to Council. I drove to city hall and talked to the city clerk about getting the correct numbers to finish writing my article for the newspaper. The city clerk was very helpful and happily answered all my questions. I corrected my article and sent it in.
We drove home and walked to the recreation center to do a fitness class. Angel didn’t want to join and sat playing on her phone. I thoroughly enjoyed the class. It was perfect for giving me a workout without being too difficult.
When we walked back home, I went out back to look at my motorhome. I decided I was going to fix it up and make it work even though it was small. It was paid for and it wouldn’t take too much money to get it fixed up. I looked around at things and opened up the back closet. It was wet inside there and the walls were soggy. Oh no! I didn’t realize that it had an active leak. I pulled back some of the wall and it was covered in black mold. Ugh. I climbed up on the roof and the roof in that corner was spongy and I could see where some of the caulking had come loose. This would be a big fix. I decided I would have to buy another RV after all and I would sell my motorhome for cheap. I didn’t want to do all the work it would take to clean up the black mold. The roof would need resealed, then the closet wall and ceiling and insulation would all need to be removed. The inside would have to be washed down with mold remover. Then the closet would have to be rebuilt. I also found black mold up front in the cab over sleeping area where there had been a previous leak. It was a big project and I didn’t want to do it. Besides, I really did need something bigger.
My mom had told me about someone from her church selling a really nice 32 foot motorhome for $15,000. It was more than I wanted to spend and I didn’t have that much in savings but maybe the owners would finance me. I called my mom and she gave me the number. I called and talked to the motorhome owner and he said that they wanted all the money up front. I know I can get a loan for the full amount. My credit score is really good but I don’t want to get a loan. I don’t want to pay interest. I don’t want to owe money. I already don’t like having a truck payment. I decided I would find something in my price range that I could pay cash for, using the money I have in savings. I have $10,000 left in savings in an investment account and as much as I want to keep that money as a buffer and have it grow interest, I am willing to use it to get a RV to live in. I can just save up again. My sister isn’t doing good having us stay with her and we really need to find somewhere else to live. At least we will be gone almost all of February and the beginning of March pet sitting for my younger sister in Cambridge. So that will give my older sister a break from us if I don’t find an RV to live in before then.
I took a break from solving my RV dilemma and sent out a prayer asking that it all be solved for me. Then I made a gallon of juice. The juice had: pineapple, carrots, grapes, ginger and oranges. I cleaned up the kitchen and drove to Mr. C’s to clean up around the wood splitter. It was a lot of work cleaning up the woods scraps. When I got them all in the tractor scoop, Mr. C taught me how to drive the tractor to dump them out on the burn pile. I really liked learning how to drive the tractor!
On the way home, I stopped and looked at a camper for sale at an RV park outside of town. It is just as small as my motorhome but it is newer and might be designed better inside. I called the number posted and the man said it was $10,000. I wasn’t willing to pay that much for that size of camper. I told him thank you and hung up.
When we arrived home. I made a salad and Angel played Minecraft. Then I walked to the bank and cleaned it. It takes me about an hour and fifteen minutes to clean the bank. I listened to an audiobook called Unnatural Death while I cleaned. When I got home, Angel and I brushed our teeth and went to bed. Angel read one of her reptile books to me while I wrote my blog notes. Then I put on a sleep meditation and we went to sleep at around 9:30 pm.
Thank you for reading my blog and being a part of my life. I appreciate you.
Love, Victoria
