An Abundance of Opportunities

Dear Diary,

Good morning God,

  • Thank you for this day.
  • Thank you for all the blessings in my life.
  • Thank you for grace.
  • Thank you for opportunities.
  • Thank you for good friends.
  • Thank you for laughter.
  • Thank you for health.

I love you!

I woke up at 2:30 am. I played wordle and connections and wrote my blog. At 6 am I went back to sleep. I had crazy dreams. In one of them, I was taking a car full of people on a tour of Rupert, Idaho. I started driving on a road that went almost straight up. It was a man made road and it was like an overpass but it didn’t seem to go over any other roads. The road was so steep that we were all laid flat against the back of our seats and I knew that if I stopped, the car would flip over backwards. It seemed to take forever to reach the top of the incline. When we finally made it, it was a dead end and all that was there was a JCPenney store. I didn’t want to go to JCPenney but we had to walk through the store in order to go anywhere else.

That was all I remembered of that dream, I had more crazy dreams but I only remembered bits and pieces of them. When I woke up, it was almost 9 am. Wow! I rarely sleep that late even when I am awake half the night.

Angel was already awake and I told her to start on her schoolwork that she didn’t do yesterday while I made her breakfast. She, of course, wanted two grilled cheese sandwiches. I made her sandwiches, after she ate them, she went back to doing her schoolwork. I made tea and smoothie for myself. Then, I started laundry, dusted the house and vacuumed. Angel finished up her schoolwork, then sat on the couch playing video games with my sister. I took the dogs on a walk, it was a beautiful day. The sun was shining and it was warm enough that I felt quite comfortable in only a long sleeved shirt. As soon as I got back, I put the dogs inside and walked to the store to get a few groceries. I bought garlic, ginger, raspberries, carrots, bananas and a kombucha. Back at home, I put the groceries away and went back outside. I cleaned up all the dog poop in the yard and straightened up the parking area in back. I moved my trailer next to my sisters, stacked tires and rims next to the garage and moved my small kayak next to the garage. A lady from the homeschool co-op came by and bought my tandem kayak. I helped her load it in the back of her truck and we talked for a few minutes.

All morning long, I had been receiving messages from people wanting me to clean or pet sit for them. I set up a time to meet a lady and bid cleaning her house in Cambridge at 3:30 pm today and another lady I set up for Monday at noon. A couple more people messaged me letting me know they would be needing my help in the future and another pet sitting opportunity got booked for December. My sisters massage therapist messaged me saying that she would hand out my business cards to her clients and to have my sister bring some to her next time she got a massage. She also said that she would probably have me help her with some cleaning in the future. Yay!! I was grateful for all the opportunities that were suddenly coming my way. Wow!!

I went on another walk with Little Bit. The weather was so nice and I was basking in it. Tomorrow it is going to snow all day and I wanted to soak up as much sunshine as I could. We walked around the neighborhood on the other side of the highway. We passed by a run down house that looked abandoned with a funny sign out front that said welcome to the house of weed, 1908, yes spirits dwell within. I got to looking at the house and realized that someone actually lived in it. I has to be freezing cold in there in the winter. The windows are cracked and I doubt that it has much insulation.

We continued walking and down the road we saw an older man sitting on his front porch. He greeted us, so we stopped to say hi. His name is Jack Miller and he told me all kinds of stories about his family and his life growing up in Council. He invited us to stop by and visit with him anytime.

We continued on our walk and went straight to the Assembly of God church to help clean it. The lady I was helping was already there with 2 teenage helpers and they had gotten a lot done. She showed me the storage room where the cleaning supplies were. The storage room was in desperate need of some organization and I immediately saw that as an opportunity. I offered to start organizing the storage room instead of helping her clean. She was happy to let me do that and I was itching to get started. I love love love organizing and I was almost giddy with excitement as I began putting the room in order. I organized for an hour and I got a lot done. I didn’t get before and after pictures but the room looked so much better. I’ll work on it some more next week. While I was organizing, I chatted briefly with the lady and she is going to ask the church board about hiring me to clean. She also would like me to help her dad out with cleaning. I shared some of my healing story with her and she has a lot of knowledge about food and health as well. I really enjoyed talking with her and look forward to getting to know her better, which will happen since I will be helping her out with girls club every Tuesday night.

When I arrived back home, Angel and my sister were still playing video games. One of my nephews had come to visit his mom and he had joined in on the video game party. I made Angel 2 grilled cheese sandwiches and left again to meet with a lady in Cambridge to bid cleaning her house. I enjoyed the beautiful drive there. I love seeing the mountains in the background. I’m thrilled to be back in Idaho. I’m home!

When I arrived, the lady and I bonded almost instantly. She showed me her house and immediately accepted my bid. Then she called her best friend that lives down the road and her friend immediately hired me to clean her house as well. So wonderful! The lady and I talked for over an hour. She has a quarter horse ranch and is going to have me help her with outside work as well (which I love doing) and best of all, she is going to give Angel riding lessons. Yay! Yay! Yay! Our life here in Idaho is falling into place and I am so grateful. Faith!! God is lining everything up perfectly. All I have to do is keep shining my light.

When I got home, everyone was still playing video games. I don’t know how they can sit and stare at a screen all day but they all seemed to be enjoying themselves. I took a hot bath and soaked for an hour. I called my friend Brett and we made hot springs plans for Monday after I bid a cleaning job in McCall. Angel got in the bath and while I waited for her to get out, I sat in the living room with the video game crew and wrote down blog notes. Angel got out of the bath and we went upstairs. We painted rocks and read stories. Then Angel played in her room and I fell sleep at around 9 pm.

Thank you for reading my blog and being a part of my life. I appreciate you.

Love, Victoria
