Dear Diary,
Good morning God,
- Thank you for this day.
- Thank you for mornings.
- Thank you homemade bread.
- Thank you for laughter.
- Thank you for laundry.
- Thank you for ease.
- Thank you for an abundance of everything I need.
I love you!
I woke up at 11 pm. I wasn’t surprised since I had gone to bed so early. The nasal congestion I had been experiencing the last day and a half was mostly cleared up. I knew it would clear up quickly. Fasting helped with that. Fasting always helps my body quickly get back to homeostasis. There’s a reason fasting is talked about a lot in the Bible, though not many Christian’s practice it. I don’t think I’ve ever even heard of a Christian church that encourages fasting, churches do seem to promote a lot of unhealthy eating though 😂.
I laid in bed and wrote my blog until 1 am. Angel woke up and crawled in bed with me. I turned out the light and we snuggled up. Suddenly I heard Little Bit throwing up under the covers at the end of the bed. I turned on the light and threw back the blankets. Sure enough, there was a pile of throw up on the sheets. Angel and I got up and I stripped all of the bedding. The vomit had soaked through the top sheet and the bottom sheet so the mattress cover and all the blankets needed to be washed. I carried everything downstairs and started some of it washing. Then I came back upstairs and made the bed with fresh sheets and bedding. It was all due to be changed anyway.
Angel and I snuggled up in bed again and fell back asleep. At 6 am, I woke up and went downstairs to check on my sourdough bread that had been rising all night. It was ready to go, so I started the oven warming up, made tea and switched the laundry. My sister woke up and began getting ready for work. We said good morning to each other. I put the bread in the oven and while waiting for to cook, I vacuumed the house and went upstairs to straighten up Angel’s room.
When I came back down, my sister told me about a couple of crazy dreams she had last night. I wanted to interpret them for her but she didn’t ask me to. So instead I simply listened while I hung upside down on the traction machine. When the bread was done, it didn’t turn out as good as I wanted it to but it was good enough. I let it cool while I sat at the bar and started today’s blog. I was all caught up on my blog and I want to keep it that way for a while.
My sister left for work and I went upstairs to hang up laundry and check on Angel. She was awake and on her phone talking to her sister. I asked her what she wanted for breakfast and she said she wanted 2 grilled cheese sandwiches. When I finished hanging up the laundry, I made her sandwiches and she came downstairs to eat them.
When she was done eating, she got dressed and we drove to my younger sisters to feed her cat and check on her chickens. We listened to A Diary of a Wimpy Kid book on the drive. Both Angel and I enjoyed the book. I hadn’t ever read one of those books before and I was surprised and how good it was. At my younger sisters, I spent time petting her cat Halloween and gave her some treats. The chickens were hanging out in the back yard and they had plenty of food and water. I had one more day of pet sitting for her, she would be back tomorrow. I thought about vacuuming her house for her as a surprise but decided I would do it in the morning.
Back at home, Angel and I did school together. We worked on math and reading. When we finished, we started painting rocks. Some of my painting supplies should be arriving in the mail today and the rest of them should be arriving on Monday. We got the first coat on the top on the rocks and left them to dry. It’s is going to take several days to get them completed.
I took Bits and my sisters dog Huckleberry on a walk to the recycling center. It was much nicer out today than it had been yesterday and I didn’t even wear a jacket. The sun was shining and it was 45 degrees out. It felt great. There is an apple tree full of apples next to the recycling center that I had noticed the other day. I harvested some of the apples by knocking them down with a long stick. Some of them broke open when they fell to the ground and I didn’t want them to go bad, so when I got home, I got out my juicer and juiced all the apple I had harvested the past few weeks. In total, I had collected 3 bags full and they made a gallon and a half of juice.
After cleaning up the kitchen, Angel and I left to go swimming at Zim’s hot springs. A friend of mine was meeting us there. We listened to a Diary of a Wimpy Kid on the drive. We both laughed and laughed at the funny parts in the book. My friend was already at Zim’s when we arrived. We greeted each other and all went swimming. There were only 2 other people in the pool so were pretty much had the whole thing to ourselves. My friend and I sat in the smaller hot pool and talked while throwing a ball back and forth to Angel. We could only sit in the hot pool for so long before we got in the bigger pool where Angel was. The small hot pool was at 105 degrees Fahrenheit and the bigger pool was at 98 degrees Fahrenheit.
I stretched and floated on my back fully relaxing my body. Then we all played basketball together. There are basketballs and a hoop set up so you can play from inside the pool. Angel liked to get up on our shoulders to throw the basketballs in the hoop.
We stayed for a couple of hours, then we all got out, my friend said goodbye and left before we did. I talked to Chloe at the front desk and asked if they were hiring. I thought it would be fun to work at the hot springs. She said they weren’t but they did need volunteers sometimes and volunteers could swim for free. Perfect! I left her my name and number and told her I would be happy to volunteer.
When we got home, I was feeling really tired. I laid down in my room with Bits and Huckleberry while Angel watched YouTube kids on her phone. I thought about going to bed early or taking a nap but it was 5:30 pm and that was not a good time to go to sleep. Angel came in my room and said she was hungry and wanted 2 grilled cheese sandwiches. That’s what she’d had for breakfast and lunch and I suggested she eat something different but she said that was all she wanted. I got up and went downstairs to make Angels sandwiches. My sister was home and I asked her how work was and made Angel her sandwiches. I wanted to go lay down some more but then I remembered that there was Bible study at church tonight and if I left now, I would have time to walk there. A walk was just the thing I needed to shake off this tiredness and it worked. I really enjoyed the walk to the church. The moon was beautiful and the crisp cold air felt great. I revived a text from my younger sister letting me now that she would be back tonight and I didn’t need to feed her cat or chickens in the morning. I was glad about that because it would make tomorrow morning easier. In the morning, I am meeting a new pet sitting client in New Meadows and then doing a cleaning opportunity in McCall. Both of those are in the opposite direction of my younger sisters house. So now I get to leave an hour later.
Bible study was good. I enjoyed the fellowship and the lesson was really interesting. I received clarity from the Holy Spirit about a few things I had been struggling with and I let go of it all and stepped back into faith, knowing that I would always receive everything I needed. After Bible study, I walked to Dollar General and bought more white acrylic paint for painting rocks. Then I walked to the post office to get my deliveries from the post office box. My deliveries weren’t in the box, there was a note saying to pick them up at the front desk. I will do that tomorrow morning before I head out.
When I got home, Angel was playing video games on TV. I had her turn it off and we got ready for bed. I read her a Magic Treehouse book and put on a sleep meditation. She slept with me and we fell sleep at around 9 pm.
Thank you for reading my blog and being a part of my life. I appreciate you.
Love, Victoria
