Dear Diary,
I woke up at 5:45 am. I edited my blog and posted it. Angel had been flopping around next to me all night and I hadn’t slept good. I was still tired. I prayed my gratitudes:
- I am grateful for my blog.
- I am grateful for another day.
- I am grateful for my body.
- I am grateful for friends.
At 6:35 am I got up, let the dogs out and got ready to go clean. I woke Angel up and made her waffles for breakfast. I fed the dogs and made my tea and smoothies. I made a watermelon smoothie and a banana, nectarine, turmeric, spirulina, homemade almond milk and fresh pineapple juice smoothie. I made Angel quesadillas for lunch and drove to my first cleaning opportunity.
Angel was not cooperative doing school but she managed to get her 9 required pages done. I chatted with my clients and enjoyed cleaning. When I finished, I picked up Ms. M. We went and checked on the dogs at my pet sitting house. We went through the car wash and I filled up the truck with gas. Then we went to the Rockdale Reporter to deliver newspapers. I got Ms. M settled in up front and chatted with my friend Mary Lou. She is giving me a couple of chicken coops and we talked about when and how I could get them from her house. Angel ran around playing with the cats while we waited for the papers to arrive. I sat up front and filled out my receipt slips and kept an eye on Ms. M.
The papers arrived and we all hearted (headed) out to do the route. The route went really fast today. When I delivered Edward Jones their paper, I made an appointment for tomorrow at 1pm to talk about investing some of my savings. When I finished the route, I got paid from Suzy up front and talked to Kyle Cooke for a few minutes. He’s really funny and we laughed and laughed. I love laughing.
I took Ms. M home and went to my pet sitting house. I greeted the dogs and gave them lots of pettings. Chance came inside and hung out with all of us. I laid down and took a half hour nap. I woke up to Christopher calling me back. I couldn’t get a hold of him earlier and had texted him to call me. I told him I would be home at 3:30 pm and he reminded me that he would be at the shack tonight. Oh right! It’s Wednesday. I was excited to have the place to myself, so I loaded up Angel and the dogs and headed home right away.
It was a wonderful evening at home. The dogs all played and got along. I filled up the ducks pools, gave the goats fresh water and collected eggs. I emptied Angels swimming pool and cleaned it out before I filled it up again. At 4 pm I had a life coaching client phone call. I sat outside by the big fountain while I was on the phone and the coaching session went great. I love being a life coach.
When I got off the phone, I re-did the fountain in front of the banana hut. It turned out great and makes more of a waterfall sound now. I took a video of it and put it on my YouTube channel. I am going to start adding videos to my channel. Please subscribe if you like them:
I took a shower with the hose and the cold water felt great. There are a few ways I keep cool in the summer. I keep cool internally by having a lot of watermelon and tea. I only drink fluids with electrolytes. Any water I drink, I add fresh lime or lemon juice to it because they have electrolytes. I stay super hydrated. I also don’t drink or eat anything dehydrating. I avoid table salt (NaCl) if possible and focus on sodium (Na). Salt (sodium chloride: NaCl) is very dehydrating. If you are dying of thirst and have some salt, you can die from it. Sodium (Na) on the other hand is very hydrating and necessary for survival. Watermelon, melons, lemons, limes, celery, tomatoes and leafy greens are all high in sodium. To keep cool, I also keep my head wet when I’m outside. I am constantly hosing myself down. I also eat lightly and avoid heavy foods that are heat forming. Because of all of this, I easily tolerate the heat.
Angel wanted to try on a fancy dress that I have up in the banana hut attic. I bought it in Mexico when she was 2 years old and I’ve been waiting until she grows into it to give it to her. I figured she is big enough now and she wants to wear it in the 4th of July parade we are going to be in on Saturday July 6th. I got the dress down from the attic and she tried it on. It was almost too little for her. Oh my! I was glad we got it out now. I was thinking she still had another year before it would fit her and then it would have been too small. She wore it around, trying it out. She loves fancy things.
It was time to leave for play practice and I had her take off the dress. I made tea and loaded up the dogs and we drove to Cameron. I didn’t have much to do during play practice. We weren’t practicing singing and I only have 3 lines. I researched Turks Cap while everyone else rehearsed. I knew Turks Cap was edible but I didn’t know its nutritional value or health benefits. It’s so much fun for me to learn about plants and how amazing they are.
